Before I switched to more ketogenic diet I used to eat a lot of apples. Sometimes several a day. And I ate just about the highest sugar content apple ever designed by humans - the honeycrisp. Yes, it's extra crispy, mouthwatering juicy, sweet n' sour and crunchy to the very last bite, but the sugar wrecks insulin levels. For snack switch to raspberries. Recently I started to buy more raspberries, eat some fresh and freeze the rest (so they wouldn't mold) for later.
Apples are a terrible 'food' for humans.
