Let's see . . . North-America is largely Anglo , Meso- / South-America largely Latino-Mestizo , Europe still largely european , North-Africa / the Middle East Arab , Sub-Saharan-Africa negroid , Asia asiatic , India Indo-Iranian, Australia also Anglo.
Indonesia / Oceania is "in between" . . . between Asia and the south-of-equator-sphere.
Like I said , one of the weirdest places . . racially . . and even religiously . .

The population of Oceania/ Indonesia ( the islands located between continental Asia and Australia) is very diverse.
Asiatics , Melanesians ( Papua etc ) , Indo-peoples , Pacific Islanders et al . . .
. . already , a 'melting-pot'.
Most strange detail on top of that: Through missonaries Islam is a very wide-spread religion there.
So . . what we have here . . a melting-pot of many ethnicities ( Indos, Asians ,Melanesians , Pacific Islanders . . ) , even with a most unusual religion for them ( Islam ) ( apart from Islam , surely there are primitive nature-religions still present there ; yet through missonaries Islam came to Indonesia . . .)
Weird . . one of the 'meeting-places' of the world.
So many different ethnicities , all drawn together in a state encompassing the islands . . .
Another interesting fact about that area : The Mariana Trench is located in that area . . it is the deepest point of the sea on Earth . .

I'm mainly posting this to point out Indonesia as one of the most diverse places in the world . .
How bizarre . . indeed . . . .
