NASA Curiosity rover finds Underground Doorway on Mars
May 20th, 2022
On May 7, NASA’s Martian lander Curiosity took a picture of a formation in a mountain on Mars called Mount Sharp, which looks like a door down to the underworld.
The opening looks like a landscaped descent to an underground tunnel system but is in fact a formation that occurs naturally according to experts. This type of crevice is common on both the earth and Mars. There is nothing remarkable at all with this image, these are just normal geological processes, says researcher Sanjeev Gupta to the Telegraph. According to NASA, the door is about 30 centimeters wide and 45 centimeters high. By comparison, a standard door for humans is 80 centimeters wide. The Curiosity spacecraft has been traveling around in March for almost ten years and has traveled almost 30 miles on the planet. It is powered by solar cells and photographs what it sees with a camera. The images are then sent to Earth via a radio link.
