‘Stolen election’ hysteria is the new ‘Russian interference’ – and both are the result of US institutional erosion

As Trump’s campaign loses its election challenges, many of his supporters are doubling down on cries of voting fraud. Much like accusations of ‘Russian interference’ in 2016, it’s a symptom of degradation that’s made in America.

The Trump campaign has now lost 51 legal challenges to last month’s presidential election results, as each state’s authorities confirm rival Democrat Joe Biden’s victory. Yet 52 percent of Republicans actually believed that it was Trump who had “rightfully won” the election (versus 29 percent for Joe Biden), according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken in November.

The US isn’t at its first rodeo with the refusal of the losing party to gracefully accept defeat.

In 2016, when Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton lost to Trump, it was the Democrats’ turn to evoke a bogeyman in an attempt to delegitimize the result. Much like in this year’s “stolen election narrative,” the entire world witnessed the anti-Trumpers four-year crusade.

The worst thing about both cases is the number of people who persist and double down on their convictions even as mounting evidence suggests their beliefs are unfounded.

To say that the Hillary and Trump situations were the same is just not true. Hillary lost and never served as President. Trump won and from Election Night, 2016, the Democrats and some Republicans were DETERMINED to drive him out of office by any means possible. A 24/7 hate campaign against Trump for four years by politicians and the media. Protecting Dementia Biden from coverage of his family's scandals....... Biden hiding in his basement - not even campaigning....... pauses in vote counts and irregularities, etc. Trump was treated worse than any President in history by far! He was not supposed to win, they wanted a Clinton or a Bush, he constantly confronted the Deep State, etc. so he had to go. Going forward, watch how Biden and soon to be President Harris are treated by the media and compare that to Trump's treatment. No, I never voted for Trump or the others but am an honest observer.

No, Stop The Steal has evidence, and courts unwilling to look at it.

Russiagate had no evidence, and courts willing to look at it.

What a load! Everybody with eyes and a working brain knows the election was stolen. As the courts won't act, the arena moves above the law. Question becomes, which side is morally and/or physically stronger.

At least the Republicans are blaming the actual culprits, and not trying to blame Russia like the Dems did in 2016. And no, this isn't over. Maybe Trump's challenges have been dismissed, but Texas and 17 other states have joined a lawsuit against Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Now we'll see what the Supreme Court has to say. And regardless of what they say, that cryptkeeper will never be MY president.
