Interesting. That sounds like commies and socialists were both using it the same way, meaning it actually reflected a real thing, which is unusual for leftspeak. So Lenin sets the partyline. Those who fall outside it are guilty of political correctness - and must be hammered down until they obey. But some of the softer left disparages this political correctness precisely because it is so unyieldingly dogmatic.
