Default What is the worst book you have ever read?

I went to a private school and I liked just about all the books I read for English
class in grades 7-12. However in 8th grade english class we were required to read this book called The Chosen by Chaim Potok. I just remember it was
incredibly boring. I remember it had something to do with some Orthodox
jew who has a son and the father obsesses about whether the son is following
all the rituals and practices of the Talmud. There is no real action or interesting
plot. It is jews obsessing about jew nonsense.
I went to the wikipedia page for this book and basically my memory was
close to accurate. That is basically what it is about. Maybe a jew would like to
read the book but a gentile would think WTF is this crap and who cares.
Is there a book or books that you were required to read in high school or college english class that you couldn't stand?

Footfall, by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, a science-fiction novel about an alien invasion of Earth, similar to the Independence Day movie. Goddamn, it was awful and depressing.

Actually I did read that book. It had to do with some elephant like alien
creatures who were invading earth, right. It was bad compared to other
books I read by Niven. I read A World Out of Time and Ring World and I liked
both of them. Footfall is the only book I read that Niven and Pournelle wrote
together. I believe there were others.

Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin Abott Abott. It is a story about living in a two-dimensional world. It sounded like an interesting idea, but the story fell flat.

I have heard about Flatland. When I was in college one of my math professors
said it was good. As Patrick Swayze said in the move Road House, "Opinions
vary."
Another book that I had to read in 8th grade English class was called
Zen Koans. It was a compilation of zen koans, or proverbs. You were
supposed to read these koans which often seemed odd and find the deep
hidden meaning to them. Most of these koans are related to the true nature
of Buddha. One I remember was "Buddha is a dung wiping stick."
I think I could have been okay with not reading this book.

I remember a college professor explaining that one to us. He said that the purpose of it was to stress that idea that Buddhists are not supposed to worship the Buddha.

That same professor, in another part of the class, showed us a slide show of a Hindu wedding. At one point, he said, "In the next slide you will see the man place his sperm into the woman." When he showed the next slide, it was a photo of the man placing a seed in the woman's mouth. He then said, "It's all symbolic. You didn't really think you were going to see a sexual act, did you?"

I've read many books, good, bad, and in between. So it's hard to say. But one that I can think of off the top of my head is, The World According To Garp. I finished it, but can't recommend it to others. Right now I like the Jack Reacher novels, by Lee Child, although some are better than others. Big fan of Dean Koontz too.

Now, I read a lot of science fiction, or once did. Here's one novel from the Golden Age, by A.E. Van Vogt that I highly recommend, if you like tales about interstellar war.

And here's a novel by white nationalist author Ward Kendall, which I recently finished. Read the Amazon reviews to get a good idea of what it's about, but it's well worth the read.

They made us read this horseshit back in prep school. Even then, I knew it was utter rubbish.

One book that I read in 8th grade english class that I did enjoy was Julius
Caesar by Shakespeare. The teacher had each student memorize a passage
from the play and recite it in front of the class. That was fun. That play contains
many memorable quotes.
Another book from that class that we read was The Learning Tree by black author Gordon Parks. Actually that was better than you might think. As
a WN I don't have much interest in reading books by black authors but
i think that Parks did a decent job writing this book. I know of one white
guy on Stormfront who said he was required to read a Toni Morrison book
in english class and he thought it was crap.

I never was required to read any holocaust books when I was in high school
in the 1970s. I think that the jews seemed to ramp up this practice following
the release of Schindler's List in 1993.

Well any Harry Potter retard scrawl on paper. Abysmally stupid and difficult not to read in down syndrome voice.

Worst book is probably The Light in the Forest by Conrad Richter or "A Separate Peace" by John Knowles. Both of these books put a serious dent in my desire to read.

Also To Kill a Mockingbird was probably the first time that I knew I was a racist, and the innocent nigger defense was bullshit. No such thing. Their existence anywhere out outside of a 50 strong cannibal tribe is a crime.

I was in high school at the same time and the only thing I remember reading about the holohoax were excerpts from The Diary of Anne Frank in literature class. Of course it was in California, and the 1970s were the time when leftism and liberalism really gained momentum there, the homosexuals had come out of the closet and Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown was elected Governor. I remember us talking in class about Holocaust, the 1978 TV miniseries, but that was the extent of it. Man, I really feel bad for White kids in school today having it shoved down their throats nonstop along with all the other brainwashing and indoctrination.

Suggestions on my high school reading list included "I Wanna Beez a Nigger," also titled "Black Like Me." One liberal "teacher" said we'd get extra credit if we read it. Too bad, lib. You came from the north to the Deep South and nobody read it. This same "teacher" became "dean of women" at the high school I attended and gets glowing remarks on jewbook from some folks I went to high school with. I only have a jewbook account so I can keep up with a few people. Some folks I went to high school with still live in the same damn city and go to the football games. Losers.

I was in the sixth grade when that came out. One day the teacher came in and was totally pissed because some kids had made an elaborate drawing of a prison camp on the blackboard and was comparing our school to it.

Default What is the worst book you have ever read?

Well, there are so few of them, but there is one I actually wrote a review in 1988, and I called it The Worst Novel in the World, and that is The 27th City by Jonathan Franzen.
Franzen burst onstage then, a real darling of the New York literati, but the novel is a piece of shit. It is about St. Louis, and an Indian woman becomes chief of police, solves crime, Indians flood the city, and a lot of plots that go nowhere with a lot of crappy modern prose.

Just really academic/post-modern junk like:
'She was preturnaturally innocent, like the the simple brain of a time bomb
'The kittens were squirming like living excrement on the dead leaves.'
'Barbara passed sore-looking breasts bared to the weather, ecstasies in which only the agony wasn't simulated, a skirt raised above a meaningless vulva framed by black straps.'

Yuck. page after page...and I read all four hundred to be fair, but there were ENDLESS descriptions of traffic jams and weather, totally unnatural dialogue, and no sense whatsoever of St. Louis.
Franzen grew up in a suburb there, but lit out for Swarthmore, and like a lot of midwest/southern writers, gets totally submerged in NYC mores, but is always referred to as a 'midwestern' writer. Also, he tries to write about race, but admits the only black he ever knew was the family's maid, and always writes about middle class people with angst...and of cours3e, blacks are wonderful holy, etc.
I really hated him until my own novels got published, so I've made my piece, but Franzen is still a sort of king of literary fiction. When he speaks, NYC adores him.
I felt I could write a better novel about St. Louis and I did many years later, The St. Louisans. But understand Franzen is part of the group, and I believe you are allowed to write literary fiction, but only if the elite likes you.
In publishing circles, they want to know who your 'rabbi' is...meaning who can vouch for you, that you have the right credentials, and I've actually seen that term used.

As for Niven and Pournelle, they wrote Lucifer's Hammer back in the 70's, a novel about an asteroid hitting earth. Pretty frightening and well-written. Couldn't put it down, and surprised it was never made into a movie.
Also, it is considered 'racist' and 'sexit' by some now, because women are shown as being dependent on men when there is no more electricity or civilization, and a group of black soldiers kill their white officers and turn cannibal.
Also, they link up with a white holy-roller who wants to destroy the community around the last nuclear reactor to fulfill God's plan...in sci-fi, if you're a Christian, you're always a holy-roller nutcase...and it's interesting how the niggers link up with the Xtian doom stuff right away.

Pornelle also write Janissaries, a sci-fi book I liked about mercs sent to control a planet. Good illustrations by Boris Viejo, I think.

I never had the Anne Frank stuff in school...we were still immersed in 50's lit like Steinbeck, etc. I did read To Kill a Mockingbird, the Reader's Digest condensed book. Wasn't too impressed with it, although some scenes were okay, and I noted a big scene where Atticus killed a mad dog. It was made into a great drama, because the Sheriff was afraid he'd miss and Atticus, the great liberal, just happened to be a first-rate marksman, and his black maid ran from house to house warning people to stay in as Atticus bravely walked down the street, aimed, and saved the day.
Bullshit, I thought. The sheriff would see the mad dog, whip out his revolver, and bang-bang-bang...end of mad dog.
I felt I was being manipulated, and am a bit proud that, at twelve years old, I could see through that.
As for the race thing, we had zero blacks where I came from, so it didn't really sink in. In my town, if you wanted to dump on outsiders, it was Catholics 'having all them kids.'

I also remember in fifth grade, our teacher reading Huckleberry Finn to us. She was a good reader, and 'nigger' got bandied about, with no ill effects on us.

But Franzen...needed a drink after reading him, and of course now, he's in danger because he's white and not queer.

Default Soul on Ice

Read Soul on Ice by Eldridge Cleaver to inform and energize your White racial consciousness and revolutionary ardor. The book is a paean to niggers raping White women and was foisted upon naiive and gullible White high school students in Canada in the 1970s. The jew commies who were sitting on all the "Boards of Education", then and now, made sure all White kids were indoctrinated with garbage such as Soul on Ice and we see the fruits of this process today: We're up to our eyeballs in whiggers and other forms of sick, self-hating Whites.
