Default Governing politicians call the ultra-right Alternative for Germany "spiritual arsonists"

Governing politicians call the ultra-right Alternative for Germany "spiritual arsonists"

13.10.2019

German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (Christian Social Union in Bavaria - CSU) and some other German politicians are blaming the rise in antisemitism there on the country's strongest opposition party, Alternative for Germany (AfD) because, through their rhetoric, some politicians in that anti-immigration group are abetting the dissemination of hatred towards Jewish people. Seehofer and others expressed that view after a right-wing radical attacked a synagogue in the eastern city of Halle on Wednesday, killing two people.

Default Banning the AfD would be a brutal assault on democracy

The clamour for a ban on the right-wing party reveals the authoritarianism of the German elites.

Banning the AfD would be a brutal assault on democracy

The German president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, made an extraordinary intervention last week. Speaking on the 75th anniversary of the Herrenchiemsee Convention, which led to the first draft of the modern German constitution, he delivered a stark warning that the ‘enemies’ of democracy could soon be in a position to erode Germans’ freedoms and to ‘brutalise’ society. At the same time, he offered a solution to these dangers. Germans, he said, have ‘it in our hands to put those who despise democracy back in their place’.

The German president is expected to act above party politics, and so he was careful not to name these ‘enemies’ outright, or to specify what actions could be taken to defend German democracy. Nevertheless, it was abundantly clear that Steinmeier had the right-wing populist AfD (Alternative for Germany) in his sights. And the tools he alluded to, as set out in the German constitution, include banning the party outright. This is precisely how his comments have been interpreted and written up in the German and global media.

As shocking as it may sound, Steinmeier would not be alone in supporting a ban on the AfD. An editorial in German news magazine Der Spiegel last week called for the ‘enemies of the constitution’ to be banned, claiming that ‘it’s time to defend democracy with sharper weapons’. The German Institute for Human Rights, a major state-funded think-tank, claimed last month that the AfD is sufficiently hostile to the German constitution to be legally disbanded. Nancy Faeser, interior minister in the ruling Social Democrat (SPD) government, is also known to support a ban.

These calls have only been getting louder as the AfD has grown in support over the past year. Although the AfD lost ground in the 2021 federal elections, the populists are now polling ahead of the governing SPD. And while the AfD is polling second nationally, behind the centre-right CDU, it is currently topping the polls in four out of Germany’s five eastern states, three of which are holding elections next year. Recent wins in local elections in Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt have only added to the elites’ anxiety about a populist takeover of Germany.

It’s as if the German elites cannot hear themselves. They are essentially arguing that the only way to save German democracy is to tear it down, by banning a party that is supported by a fifth of the population.

The argument for banning the AfD draws on the postwar German tradition of ‘defensive democracy’, which is the basis of the modern constitution. It is based on the mistaken belief that the rise of the Nazis ‘exploited’ the democratic system to rise to power. To prevent this from happening again, so the argument goes, today’s authorities need to be on their guard, ready to ban and constrain nascent fascist movements before they can take power and destroy democracy from within.

Needless to say, defensive democracy is a deeply anti-democratic idea. It assumes it is the job of elites to determine which parties it is acceptable for the public to vote for. It also misreads both history and the situation today. As Bruno Waterfield explains: ‘It assumes that popular passions, unleashed by national electorates, lead to the rise of totalitarianism or aggressive state nationalism unless they are subject to some kind of… political restraint.’ Ironically, this idea actually buys into myths propagated by the fascists – such as that the Nazis spoke for the majority. In truth, Adolf Hitler was not chosen by the demos. His popularity was actually on the wane before he became German chancellor in 1933. Rather than riding a tide of popular support, he was invited into government by conservative elites, who were desperate to cling on to power.

The German elites also misunderstand the AfD. Certainly, there are figures within the AfD who espouse deeply obnoxious right-wing views. The party’s opposition to immigration can stray into outright xenophobia and racism. It is not uncommon to hear AfD spokespeople distinguish between ‘real Germans’ and ‘passport Germans’ – that is, German citizens who are not ethnically German. Prominent AfD politicians have spoken at rallies organised by the far-right, anti-Islam Pegida movement. And the increasingly influential Björn Höcke, who leads the party in Thuringia, has been accused of downplaying the Holocaust.

But the AfD is not a fascist party, and the recent surge in support for it is down almost entirely to the growing unpopularity of the current coalition government. The government’s policies on immigration and energy are widely disliked. And its commitment to the green agenda has been economically crippling. For all of the AfD’s many faults, it is currently the only major party that is kicking up any kind of fuss about these problems. Banning the party would mean banning the government’s most important critics.

These demands to ban the AfD are the logical culmination of elite efforts to demonise the party and its supporters, and to keep it out of power by often underhand means. AfD voters are smeared by the political class and in the media as racists, fascists and dupes of Russian disinformation – and therefore unworthy of a voice. Each of the mainstream parties has long maintained a strict cordon sanitaire around the AfD, refusing to work with it in government. This means that even if the AfD were to come first in regional or federal elections, it would be shut out of power. Voters’ wishes would essentially be voided.

The establishment has also leant heavily on the security state to keep the AfD in check. The party has been under surveillance by the secret service – the Bundesverfassungsschutz (the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, or BfV) – since 2021. AfD subgroups, including its youth wing, have already been banned as a result. Last month, the head of the BfV urged voters to think carefully before voting for the AfD, citing the threat it supposedly poses to democracy. It was an explicitly political intervention.

Ironically, far from wanting to tear down democracy, AfD voters tend to be concerned about the lack of democratic representation in Germany. Indeed, according to recent polls, some 77 per cent of German voters feel they have no power over what the government does. It is this democratic deficit that is driving voters towards the AfD.

This is one reason why the elites’ anti-democratic machinations have only increased support for the AfD. They confirm that the established parties would rather silence populist voters than engage with their concerns.

All of this recalls Bertolt Brecht’s 1953 satirical poem, ‘The Solution’ (Die Lösung). With ‘the people’ having lost the confidence of the government, Brecht poses the question: ‘Would it not be easier… for the government to dissolve the people and elect another?’

The elites say they are defending democracy. But their aim is to put troublesome voters back in their box. Make no mistake, the real threat to German democracy comes not from the populist right, but from an increasingly authoritarian establishment.

Banning the AfD would be a brutal assault on democracy

‘Would it not be easier… for the government to dissolve the people and elect another?’ that's exactly what the ruling globalist elite are doing in Germany and throughout Europe with 3 rd World migrant population replacement.

Default German Populist Politician Brutally Beaten in Migrant Attack

German Populist Politician Brutally Beaten in Alleged Migrant Attack

Police have launched an investigation after a candidate for the Alternative for Germany party was attacked by a group of migrants while he was on his way to a campaign event.

Andreas Jurca, the head of the AfD in the Bavarian district of Augsburg and the local candidate for the upcoming state legislature elections, suffered deep bruising on the face and a broken ankle after two men allegedly approached him under the guise of trying to shake his hand, before beating him to the ground.

According to the mass-circulation national Focus news magazine, local police have confirmed that they received an emergency call from Jurca following the attack and have since opened up an investigation.

In comments reported by Junge Freiheit newspaper, Jurca alleged that the attackers were of foreign origin, saying that he was descended upon by a group of “southerners… and by southerners, I don’t mean Spaniards or Italians now.” However, he ultimately blamed the attack on the fact that the AfD party is so often demonised in Germany.

“That’s exactly why I do politics. These are the people who want to lead us back into tyranny. There is no political edict for violence. If we live in a democracy, then we must also be able to endure that others have different opinions,” he said.

The attack comes amid growing calls among the Berlin establishment to outright ban the populist party given its increasing popularity among the public. Ironically, advocates of banning the AfD have frequently cited a desire to protect democracy by prohibiting one of the highest-polling parties in the country.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier warned earlier this month said in a speech to intelligence operatives that “we all have it in our hands to put those who despise our democracy in their place” in a reference to the AfD.

The influential Der Spiegel magazine also joined in on the calls to outlaw the party, with an article entitled “Ban the enemies of the constitution!” The piece warned that “the AfD has become more and more radicalised. It’s time to defend democracy with better weapons”.

Meanwhile, candidates for the AfD are facing a potentially more dangerous threat, with the Frankfurt branch of the militant leftist Antifa group publishing the home addresses of dozens of candidates with an interactive map. The radicals said that the move was intended to “make life hell” for the AfD politicians. According to a report from Hessenschau, the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation into the matter.

Justifying the doxxing, the Antifa cell said: “Anyone who publicly runs for a fascist party stands for anti-human politics with his name. And this standing up for such a policy must have consequences in our eyes. If even one of the people presented stops doing politics out of fear, that’s good!”

The Germans have been under military occupation by the forces of the woke WEF Globalists/Communists since 1945.

The Globalists/Communists determine who and who is not allowed to run for office in Germany and they determine what policies the government offices are to implement and which to block.

The Globalists/Communists want to demographically replace and politically dispossess the native Germans, i.e. White Christians, with the dimwitted 3rd World Hordes. They used the 3rd World Hordes as front line shock troops to keep the natives in line and to erode and destroy their social support systems.

The war against the German peoples has never ended.

The Communists are so confident they don't even try to hide it now. That's your sign people. Vote AfD.

Sounds like the rebirth of the Nazi Regime.

The AfD are real heros. This is the sort of behaviour in Germany that gave rise to the formation of the Sturmabteilung (SA) in the 1920's.

Default Female Populist Politician Attacked with Dog Faeces in Germany

A female politician from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) was assaulted with dog faeces by an agitator in the latest attack on populists in the country.

During an event in Daun in the Vulkaneifel district of the Rhineland-Palatinate province on Friday, AfD parliamentarian Beatrix von Storch was attacked by a man carrying dog shit. The member of the Bundestag, who was due to give a speech in a local hall, said that the man had approached her claiming to want to take a picture with her. However, after she accepted and upon getting within arm’s length, the man took out the animal faeces and smeared von Storch with it.

“It was really disgusting,” von Storch said per broadcaster NTV. She has filed a criminal complaint and local police are reportedly investigating a man for insult and attempted bodily harm.

Before the AfD event, a group of around 100 leftist protesters gathered outside the hall, however, according to local police, von Storch was initially able to pass by them without incident. It is not the first time that she has been targeted by violent leftists, with a man dressed as a clown throwing a cake at her in 2016.

The latest assault on von Storch comes just days after the head of the AfD in the Bavarian district of Augsburg, Andreas Jurca was brutally assaulted on his way to a campaign event.

Amid the increased popularity of the right-wing populist party, which is currently polling in second place after surpassing Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democrats, there has been an increasing level of fearmongering in the establishment media, in both Germany and internationally over the supposed rise of the “far-right”.

There have also been growing calls within Germany to impose a ban on the AfD to somehow “protect” democracy.

Default Governing German Party Suggests Banning Surging Populist Opposition AfD

Can’t Beat Em, Ban Em: Governing German Party Suggests Banning Surging Populist Opposition AfD

The leader of the left-wing Social Democrat Party (SPD) of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has suggested banning the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party amid the right-wing populist party’s surge in the polls.

SPD leader Saskia Esken said this week that an outright ban of the AfD should not be off the table to protect democracy, claiming that the party uses “every topic to incite people” which she said is “clearly anti-democratic”. “Such a party ban is rightly subject to high hurdles. But I am convinced that we should keep reviewing it,” Esken told the German dpa news agency. “It is important that we talk about banning the AfD and that voters are shaken up.”

The left-wing leader’s comments come as the AfD has overtaken her party — which also happens to be the party of Chancellor Olaf Scholz — in the polls, with the AfD becoming the most-supported single party in the country and only lags behind the combination of the Christian Democrat Union (CDU) and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU), which given their strong partnership are typically counted in the polls together.

[SIZE="3"]At present, the AfD, on the back of rising resentment over the failures of the past decade of open borders policies in Germany, stands at 23% in the polls, compared to the SPD at 14.8%, and its government coalition partners, the Greens at 13%, and the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
In 2023, the populist party saw its support translate into regional election wins, having won a mayoral election, a lord mayor election, and secured its first-ever governing post at the district administrator level in Sonneberg.

This year, the AfD will be looking to build on these successes and is currently predicted to win the state elections in Brandenburg, Saxony, and Thuringia. Should the party secure enough votes to form an absolute majority in one of those states, they would be in a position to appoint the first state premier — a post similar to governor in the United States — since the party was formed in 2013.

The rise of the AfD has come with massive pushback from the establishment in Berlin, however, with the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution branding the party as a “suspected” right-wing extremist party. Meanwhile, the party’s state branches in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia have been outright categorised as right-wing extremists.

Regional party outposts have been accused of holding racist views or vying to change the constitution of Germany, which is held up as a near-sacred document given its implementation following the Second World War.

The SPD is not alone in suggesting a ban of the AfD, with the government-funded German Institute for Human Rights (DIMR) telling lawmakers in June that a ban against the AfD would be justified, claiming that the party stands against the “free democratic basic order”. The DIMR also claimed that the political ideology of the AfD is “based on the tyranny of National Socialism”, an assertion that the party stridently rejects.

Last week, the Social Democrat interior minister of Thuringinia, Georg Maier called for an amendment to the state’s constitution to prevent the AfD from coming to power in the region, by taking away the right of the largest party in an election to automatically put forward a state premier, thereby enabling smaller parties to band together to prevent the AfD from taking the seat, as it is predicted to do.

Responding to the move, co-chairman of the AfD in Thuringia, Stefan Möller said: “If you can’t win the election, you just have to change the rules. Left-wing extremists call this democracy.”

American Socialist and German Socialist are moving in synchronized goosestep.

Ban 'em because "free speech" and "protecting democracy" are very important...
Same shiz in Poland and across Europe, ban parties with ideas because that's the way of neodemocracy....

Taking a play from the Biden Playbook and the Lying, Corrupt, Enemy of the People Media, I see.

In the UK the authorities won’t even let Patriotic Alternative register as a party to stand at elections.
Looks like the Germans are playing catch up to the British here in terms of authoritarianism.

It’s funny how any group that opposes government instigated national suicide, are always ‘right-wing extremists’, but nothing is ever said about left-wing extremists, because they are considered ‘normal and sane’. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable…

Allowing people to vote for the wrong party is anti democratic. So goes the loony left logic.

Whenever the public goes for anything other than the EU party line, they are automatically a danger to democracy, so the elite have to save them from making a bad decision. Amazing how that works...

Comments:

IMO: the firebombing of Dresden (it happened today 79 yr.ago) drove the Germans barking crazy and they have never recovered. They never will.

1984: You get shot by the military if you try to cross half the country.
2024: The entire planet should crawl up and invade Germany’s asp.
2064: Young Ahbdulf Hilaler has risen to power in the remnants of Germany by his ghost-written book entitled “Mein Kebab”. He went to every beer hall in Munchen and shut them down for being haram. In the rural areas they stole the beautiful German fräuleins and covered them in burkas to be used as harem cattle for sultan' harems. His movement took to the streets of Berlin and seized the Reichstag, then installed themselves leaders of the new Germanic TotenReich.

It’s time to let Germans be German again.
Kill the EU and the ECB and the euro currency and get the US military out of Germany. Let the Germans turn the screw and get a nuclear deterrent.
The German return to the deutschmark will kill a lot of German exports, but they’ll get their sovereignty back.
The American Empire has occupied parts of Germany, and now all of Germany, since the end of World War II.
The JEW/WASP Ruling Class of the American Empire has been the power behind the scenes in regards to the mass invasion of foreigners into Germany.

The JEW/WASP Ruling Class of the American Empire attacked and destroyed the German/Russian natural gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

The rise of the Alternative for Deutschland(AfD) political party is a positive sign for Germany. Germany will soon ask the American Empire to vacate its soil. Germany will also begin the mass deportation of non-Europeans from Germany. Germany will also get a nuclear deterrent to solidify their reclamation of national sovereignty.

Default Germany: Doctor Refuses to Treat Man Because He’s an AfD Politician.

Germany: Doctor Refuses to Treat Man Because He’s an AfD Politician.

Heiko Nüßner is the one in the wheelchair.

It sure seems like it would be illegal if this was happening in the reverse. If the AfD were discriminating.

A doctor in the German state of Baden-Württemberg refuses to treat one of his patients because he is a local politician in the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

The doctor’s decision was reportedly sparked when he saw a photo in the local newspaper of the politician, Heiko Nüßner, at an event for his party’s city association in Lahr. Based on this photo, the doctor told him to find a new practice due to their “clearly different political views.”

Nüßner, who previously served as a Christian Democrat (CDU) politician for 26 years, told Bild newspaper that he was “very surprised by this reaction, as he had never spoken to the doctor about his politics. He described the interaction with the general practitioner as “very undemocratic.”

The AfD politician said, “I was disappointed with the CDU because of its euro and migration policy as well as its exit from nuclear energy. For me, the AfD is the ‘new CDU’ and by no means right-wing extremist.”

The AfD politician suffered an accident three years ago that he left him confined to a wheelchair. When he asked the doctor for a prescription at the beginning of March, he was denied treatment. Nüßner shared a copy of the email exchange shared between him and the doctor, whose name was not disclosed by Nüßner or Bild.

The doctor has responded to Bild, saying that the photo of the politician was only the “icing on the cake.”

“I had already found the patient very unpleasant beforehand, with his demanding and pushy nature,”
he said. According to medical ethicists, denying treatment based on “unpleasant” attitudes or because you do not agree with the politics of your patient does not meet medical standards. However, for patients who represent a threat or a major disturbance to a medical practice, doctors are permitted to deny care, but only if there is no immediate medical threat.

The doctor claimed however that the medication requested by Nüßner was “not vital.”

According to the Bild interview with the doctor, he did want to support any “undemocratic tendencies,” as the AfD is being monitored for extremism by the Office of the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), a powerful domestic spy agency.

He said if the AfD politician needed acute care, he would treat him and anyone else “regardless of their ideology.”

In 2021, AfD candidate Andrea Zürcher also had her general practicioner cancel her care, also in the state of Baden-Württemberg. In Zürcher’s case, the doctor also learned about her political activity from a photo in a local newspaper.

The people are voting for the AfD. It’s a very popular party.

So the mainstream response is to try and kill them through denying them medical care?

This is democracy is for you, I suppose.
