Germany made ‘fantastic admission’ – Lavrov

The Russian FM’s comment came after his German counterpart said Berlin would back Kiev no matter what its own people think

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has described as “fantastic” a recent comment by his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, about Berlin’s commitment to backing Kiev. The German official said on Wednesday that her country’s government would stand by Ukraine regardless of what German voters think about it.
https://www.rt.com/news/561958-lavro...tic-admission/
Hardly a surprise from a governor of the Jew-owned vassal state of Germany. Did Mr. Lavrov really believe that Germany is an independent country? Amerikike always rule over its puppet states through some elected corrupt governors working in the best interests of their real masters and, when necessary, against the most basic interests of their tax-paying voters. That's what the whole democratic joke is about after all.

Germany refuses to give battle tanks to Ukraine

Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht says the country's military aid to Kiev has reached its limit

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht has rejected demands to supply Kiev with Leopard 2 main battle tanks during a keynote speech at a German Society on Foreign Relations event on Monday.

The minister noted that no other countries have delivered Western-built infantry fighting vehicles or main battle tanks so far to Kiev, and insisted that Germany “will not take such action unilaterally,” as quoted by Reuters.

Her comments came after the head of Germany’s Defense Committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, insisted that Berlin had an obligation to help preserve democracy in Ukraine.

Germans could be ‘left without a country’ soon – Trump

Ex-president says he warned Angela Merkel that Berlin’s dependence on Russian energy could lead to a “surrender”

Germany could soon cease to exist as a country amid the escalating energy crisis, former US president Donald Trump has suggested.

During a rally in Youngstown, Ohio on Saturday, Trump tore into his successor in the White House, taking aim at Biden’s energy policy and the so-called Green New Deal.

The Republican firebrand claimed that, although under his rule the US had become independent in terms of energy and on track to become “totally dominant... bigger than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined,” Joe Biden has since reduced the US to “begging for energy.”

Trump then went on to cite Germany’s sorry state of affairs in this area. According to the ex-president, he warned then-Chancellor Angela Merkel that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was supposed to pump Russian gas to Germany, would make Berlin even more dependent on Russian energy exports.

Trump said he had sent the “white flag of surrender” to Angela Merkel when she refused to ditch the project.

“If you are getting 72% of your energy from Russia, here’s the white flag, because you will be surrendering very quickly,” the former US head of state recounted his own warning to Merkel.

Germany nears nationalisation of gas giant Uniper

By Markus Wacket and Tom Käckenhoff

BERLIN/DUESSELDORF, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Germany is nearing a nationalisation of gas importer Uniper (UN01.DE) in the wake of an energy crisis that has left the government of Europe's top economy with few other options to keep its industry going.

Germany is set to buy Fortum's (FORTUM.HE) 78% stake in Uniper and inject a further 8 billion euros ($8 billion) into the energy group that is expected to give Berlin a stake of more than 90%.

Uniper, Germany's largest importer of Russian gas, burned through its cash reserves sourcing gas on the spot market after Russia cut flows to Germany, triggering a rescue package with Berlin which was agreed in July.

Public Porn? German Socialist Youth Demands Public Broadcasters Show Pornography

CHRIS TOMLINSON 20 Sep 2022

Bizarre: The youth wing of the ruling German Social Democrats (SPD) in Berlin has called on public broadcasters to show pornography in their media catalogues, arguing broadcasters should carry “anti-racist and feminist” pornography films.

The SPD youth wing, known as the Young Socialists or “Jusos”, argues that German public broadcasters such as ARD and ZDF should buy the rights to pornography films that fit with leftist sensibilities and show feminist and anti-racist messages, claiming that normal mainstream pornography often fulfils “sexist and racist stereotypes.”

The Jusos also criticise the fact that most mainstream pornography is directed at men and that, as a result, the perspective of women relating to pornography is neglected, the German tabloid Bild reports.

Germany needs Russian gas – official

The head of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, says the current high prices are hurting the country’s economy

Russian gas supplies are critical for Germany, and will remain so in the foreseeable future despite Berlin’s attempts to diversify its energy sources, Saxony’s Minister-President Michael Kretschmer warned.

In an interview with the newspapers belonging to Germany’s Funke Mediengruppe on Saturday, Kretschmer said: “We are already witnessing that we can’t do without Russian gas.” The official added that the sanctions imposed by Berlin over Russia’s offensive against Ukraine have “contributed to this shortage situation.”

According to Kretschmer, Berlin should try to make sure that it keeps receiving Russian gas after the armed conflict in Ukraine is over. He added that the current exorbitant prices for the fuel are ruining Germany’s industry.

Poll reveals attitude of Germans towards Scholz

Scholz’ approval rating and overall trust in the country’s government remain low, a new survey shows

The approval rating of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz remains low, with only 38% of Germans believing he’s fit for his job, a survey conducted by Germany’s INSA research institute shows. Nearly 50% of Germans see Scholz as unfit for the post, according to the study published by Bild on Tuesday.

While his approval rating remains low, Scholz performed better in September than in August. The previous INSA survey showed that only 25% of the public was satisfied, with the rating becoming the lowest since Scholz took office in December.

The survey shows that the government’s overall approval rating has become even lower, with 64.5% of those surveyed describing their trust level as “low” compared to some 62% back in August. Only 30% described their level of trust in the federal government as “high,” according to the survey.

Germany approves new arms exports – media

Berlin previously embargoed weapons sales to Saudi Arabia over the war in Yemen

Germany’s coalition government approved $35 million in new arms sales to Saudi Arabia before Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Riyadh last week, Der Spiegel reported on Thursday. Sales were halted in 2018 over the war in Yemen, but Berlin has relaxed its stance on sending weapons to warzones since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine.

Economy Minister Robert Habeck confirmed in a letter to the German Bundestag (Parliament) that several deals had been approved by Scholz shortly before he traveled to the Gulf region last week, the newspaper reported.

These deals include the sale of aircraft parts worth €1.3 million ($1.26 million) to the United Arab Emirates, and the sale of €36.1 million ($35.1 million) worth of equipment and armaments for the Eurofighter and Tornado fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. German companies will also be allowed to supply ammunition for the Eurofighter.

German defense minister makes pledge on surprise Ukraine visit

Christine Lambrecht promises modern air defenses, but no tanks for Kiev

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht made an unannounced visit to Ukraine on Saturday, where she vowed to provide more military aid in the coming days, including the long-promised Iris-T SLM ground-based air defense system.

“In a few days, we will deliver the very modern Iris-T air defense system,” she announced following a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart, Aleksey Reznikov, in the Black Sea port city of Odessa.

Berlin initially promised in June to send Kiev at least one Iris-T unit. Ukraine reportedly wants to obtain at least a dozen and has offered to purchase the rest directly from the manufacturer, even though Germany’s own armed forces have yet to receive these systems themselves.

Great interest – First kindergarten for gays and lesbians in Berlin

01/10/2022

Early next year, a kindergarten for gays and lesbians will open for the first time in Berlin. According to the operator, 60 children have already been registered by their parents, who have to show what it is like to be gay or lesbian.

As the “Bild” reports, a multi-generational home for gay, bisexual, transsexual and intersex people is being built in Berlin-Schöneberg in the building of the gay therapy center with a counseling center, care places and a nursery, as kindergartens are called in Germany.

Great interest

The interest is great and there are already 60 pre-registrations for the 93 places. The children come from rainbow families and families who live in the area and need a shelter. These kids have to show what it’s like to be gay, lesbian, transgender or intersex.

Of course, the toddlers don’t have to know whether they are gay or lesbian. All children are welcome. If they aren’t heterosexual later on, it should be easier for these little ones to come out, the report said.

Prince marries princes

Director Marcel de Groot explains the pedagogical approach of the kindergarten very simply: “Then there are, for example, ten ordinary children’s books and three in which the prince marries a prince.”

And further: “In itself, our concept is the same as that of other daycare centers. The LGBTI* way of life just needs to become more visible.”

Inconsistencies with the board of directors

However, the fact that the German pedophile lawyer Rüdiger Lautmann is on the board of directors of the gay therapy service caused outrage. In 1994, the 86-year-old published the book Die Lust am Kind. Portrait of the pedophile”, in which he tries to understand pedophile offenders. Authorities in Berlin said the organization is being looked into.

Germany should apologize to Spain for Nazi involvement in civil war: Rights group

German Chancellor Scholz to travel to Spain this week for 1st bilateral summit in 7 years

03.10.2022

Ahead of a major Spanish-German summit this week, Spain's Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory (ARMH) is asking for the German government to apologize and pay reparations for the Nazi activity in Spain.

"Nazi participation in the Spanish Civil War caused thousands of deaths in our country and allowed the coup plotters in 1936 to subdue the country through terrible violence, leading to the first fascist military victory in Europe," the association said in an official letter to the Spanish government on Monday.

During the Spanish Civil War, Nazis helped carry out the bombing of Guernica — one of the first aerial raids on civilians — and supported Franco's nationalist faction with weapons and ammunition.

Spanish dictator Francisco Franco also deported 9,700 Spanish republican fighters to Nazi concentration camps, according to the ARMH.

The ARMH collects testimonies about fascist crimes in Spain, and its team of archaeologists and volunteers continues unearthing mass graves across the country.

The association asked Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to "negotiate" a "symbolic act of reparation" with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who will be in Spain this week for the first bilateral summit in seven years.

For the ARMH, this would include an apology for Nazi involvement in Spain and material reparation that would be used to build monuments and fund research related to Nazi activity in the country.

"No Spanish government has assessed these damages, but it must be done," said ARMH President Emilio Silva. "Germany owes us reparations beyond a gesture in Gernika. It has done so in other European countries and we aren't second-class citizens, as if the pain caused in Spain by Germany didn't have any consequences."

Sanchez has yet to comment on ARMH's request, but the main focus of his meeting with the German chancellor is set to be the Russia-Ukraine war, and how it has disrupted the continent's energy supply.

Spain's Deputy Prime Minister Nadia Calvino has said that the government hopes to convince Germany to drop its opposition to a European cap on gas prices.

George Baselitz Calls for Removal of Nazi-Era Painting in Munich Museum

October 3, 2022

German artist Georg Baselitz has called for the removal of a painting from the permanent collection of a Munich museum, claiming that it has ties to the Nazi regime.

In a letter to Bernhard Maaz, director of the Munich State Painting Collections, and Markus Blume, German’s art minister, Baselitz criticized the Pinakothek der Moderne for displaying the painting. He called the work “Nazi propaganda” and said its continued installation at museum was “shocking.”

Baselitz has called on leaders at the Pinakothek der Moderne to remove the piece, titled Four Elements, from public display. The German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung first reported news of his letter.

Germany could go from an ‘industrial country to an industrial museum’ due to worsening energy crisis

Germany is at risk of being deindustrialized

October 06, 2022
editor: REMIX NEWS author: JOHN CODY

Germany is at risk of going from an industrial country to an “industrial museum” due to the federal government’s energy policy, warned the president of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI), Markus Steilemann. According to him, Germany is at risk of frequent power shortages because renewable energy is insufficient to meet the country’s energy needs.

Pointing to wind power, he said that Germany would need to build 10 wind turbines daily to implement the energy transition.

“One of them needs 4,000 tons of steel. That is half an Eiffel Tower. That means five Eiffel Towers every day. And that for the next eight years,” Steilemann said.

Steilemann questioned this effort by saying, “I’d like to see how we can get that going.”

Have the Russians apologized for their involvement in the war? I'll take a wild guess and say they haven't.

Greta Thunberg gives Germany permission to keep nuke plants running

The climate activist has called for keeping reactors operating rather than using more coal-fired power amid Europe’s energy crisis

Climate activist Greta Thunberg has given her blessing for Germany to delay plans to shut down its last remaining nuclear power plants by the end of this year, saying the loss of their output amid Europe’s energy crisis would lead to more environmentally harmful alternatives.

“Personally, I think that it’s a very bad idea to focus on coal when this [nuclear power] is already in place, but of course, it’s a very infected debate,” the 19-year-old Thunberg told German public broadcaster ARD in an interview that’s set to air on Wednesday.

The Swedish teenager has previously spoken out against nuclear power, calling it “extremely dangerous, expensive and time-consuming.” When European Union lawmakers were set to vote last July to categorize nuclear power as “sustainable,” Thunberg voiced her opposition, saying, “No amount of lobbyism and greenwashing will ever make it green. We desperately need real renewable energy, not false solutions.”
