CBS ‘confirms’ Hunter Biden laptop is real 769 days after Post broke story

CBS News said Monday that it confirmed the authenticity of data from Hunter Biden’s former laptop — more than two years after The Post first revealed its contents ahead of the 2020 presidential election — as the first son’s lawyer complained that he didn’t “consent” to the release.

The laptop links President Biden to his son and brother James Biden’s overseas influence-peddling, but high-ranking former US intelligence officials initially claimed it was likely Russian disinformation and the story was censored by Twitter and Facebook before the election.

Most large news outlets ignored the laptop’s contents until recently. CBS’s report follows belated verification of the laptop in March by the Washington Post and New York Times.

In the Chinese venture that made mention of the “big guy” getting a cut, Hunter and James Biden earned $4.8 million from CEFC China Energy — an arm of Beijing’s foreign-influence “Belt and Road” initiative — in 2017 and 2018, according to the Washington Post.

AP’s shameless claim that Joe Biden never discussed Hunter’s business deals defies belief

Those of us who have written for years about the Hunter Biden scandal and the family’s influence-peddling operation routinely read media stories denying the facts and dismissing calls to investigate. This weekend, though, the Associated Press made a real whopper of a claim: that there is no evidence even suggesting President Joe Biden ever spoke to his son about his foreign dealings.

I’ve explained how the Bidens have succeeded in a Houdini-like trick in making this elephant of a scandal disappear from the public stage — by enlisting the media in the illusion. But this level of audience participation in the trick truly defies belief.

The Associated Press’ statement at this stage of the scandal was breathtaking but telling: “Joe Biden has said he’s never spoken to his son about his foreign business, and nothing the Republicans have put forth suggests otherwise.”

For years, the media have continued to boost President Biden’s repeated claim that “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.” At the outset, the press only had to suspend any disbelief that Biden could fly to China as vice president with his son on Air Force Two without discussing the latter’s planned business dealings on the trip.

Up to $2 billion in client money missing in crypto giant FTX collapse: reports

At least $1 billion of customer funds — and possibly as much as $2 billion — have gone missing in the shocking implosion of the crypto currency exchange FTX, according to reports.

FTX’s flamboyant founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, known in the industry as “SBF,” secretly funneled $10 billion of customer funds into his trading company, Alameda Research, sources told two media outlets.

Alameda Research is run by Bankman-Fried’s girlfriend, Caroline Ellison.

Two senior FTX officials claimed they saw the evidence that the money was missing in copies of financial records Bankman-Fried shared with company executives last week, according to Reuters.

At least $473 million of the missing money might have been hacked or stolen, FTX claimed early Saturday.

Disgraced Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison talked about “regular amphetamine use” in an April 2021 Twitter thread — more than one year before the FTX-linked crypto hedge fund imploded.

Ellison, the close business associate and confirmed ex-girlfriend of FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, has been under intense scrutiny since Alameda and other FTX Group-linked entities filed for bankruptcy last week after running out of cash.

“Nothing like regular amphetamine use to make you appreciate how dumb a lot of normal, non-medicated human experience is,” Ellison said in the tweet dated April 5, 2021.

Her casual drug reference went viral on social media platforms, including Twitter and Reddit, amid reports that FTX funneled $10 billion in client funds to Alameda to help bolster the firm’s risky bets. At least $1 billion of those funds is reportedly still missing following the fund’s implosion.

Close to 140 convicted illegal alien sex offenders were arrested in a nationwide sting across multiple states, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency reveals.

The sting operation, conducted from October 22 to November 4, saw ICE agents arrest 138 illegal aliens who are convicted sex offenders — including those guilty of rape.

A number of the illegal alien sex offenders were arrested in sanctuary states or cities.

For example, 21 of the illegal alien sex offenders were arrested in the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, California, 15 were arrested in the sanctuary city of San Francisco, California, and five were arrested in the sanctuary city of Seattle, Washington.

A handful of others were arrested in the sanctuary state of New York, including a 44-year-old illegal alien convicted of second-degree rape and promoting prostitution in September 2017. Another 42-year-old illegal alien arrested in New York had been convicted of first-degree rape in April 2002.

For the second straight year, President Biden and his family will spend Thanksgiving at the Nantucket home of private-equity billionaire David Rubenstein — and Biden’s 2024 plans could be among the dinner table discussion topics.

Joe Biden, his wife Jill, and other family members were set to fly to the upscale Massachusetts island on Air Force One later Tuesday and remain there until Sunday, the White House confirmed over the weekend.

While there, the Bidens plan to stay at Rubenstein’s sprawling, $20 million waterfront home, the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror reported.

A federal judge ruled Monday that former White House press secretary Jen Psaki must comply with a subpoena and offer deposition in a lawsuit that claims the Biden administration colluded with Big Tech to censor speech.

Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana on Monday rejected a motion by attorneys for Psaki to block a court-ordered deposition, and said there is public interest in "determining whether First Amendment free speech rights have been suppressed."

Monday’s order follows a ruling from U.S. Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis, who on Friday transferred the case back to Louisiana after Psaki attempted to fight the deposition in a Virginia court where she lives and would be deposed. Biden’s Justice Department supported her effort.

Poll: Majority Say Republican-Led House Should Investigate Hunter Biden, End January 6 Committee

Most believe the incoming Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives should take action, including investigating Hunter Biden and ending the January 6 committee, November’s Harris Poll/HarrisX survey revealed.

The survey found Americans desiring the House to take a series of actions — some of which could happen with Republicans taking over the lower chamber.

Nearly two-thirds, 65 percent, agree that the House should investigate the “Hunter Biden laptop,” specifically.

Further, 71 percent said the House should “investigate the origins” of the Chinese coronavirus, and 77 percent believe the House should “investigate the FBI and whether politics has been playing a role in its actions.”

Another 74 percent said Congress should investigate tech companies and if they have been censoring speech, and 62 percent said the House should “end the January 6 committee” altogether.

Breitbart News reported that six people were shot and killed around 10 p.m. inside the Chesapeake Walmart and an employee of the store was allegedly the gunman.

CBS News noted that Chesapeake police chief Mark Solesky indicated the gunman used a pistol.

Biden responded to news of the incident by pushing for more gun control.

In a statement released by the White House, Biden lamented the deaths, as they occurred days before Thanksgiving. He then reminded the nation that he signed new gun control laws during the summer of 2022 and intimated the need for even more controls, saying, “This year, I signed the most significant gun reform in a generation, but that is not nearly enough. Kevin McCarthy Calls for Alejandro Mayorkas to Resign, Threatens Impeachment if DHS Secretary Resists

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, hoping to become the next Speaker of the House, called for the resignation of President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, declaring him a threat to the nation’s sovereignty. If Mayorkas resists, McCarthy threatened House Republicans will consider impeachment proceedings against him.

McCarthy made the announcement during a press conference along the United States-Mexico border, where he noted that under Mayorkas’s leadership, the U.S. has seen “the greatest wave of illegal immigration in recorded history, with an estimated 5.5 million border encounters since Biden took office in February 2021.

“Our country may never recover from Secretary Mayorkas’s dereliction of duty,” McCarthy said. “This is why, today, I am calling on the Secretary to resign. He cannot and must not remain in that position.”

“If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action, and every failure will determine whether we can begin [an] impeachment inquiry,” McCarthy continued.

President Biden joked with a reporter on Thursday who asked him when he’ll be getting his annual checkup done.

“What, do you think I need it?” the 80-year-old commander in chief responded.

Biden made the retort outside the Nantucket Fire Department in Massachusetts, where he met with first responders on Thanksgiving, and revealed that part of his physical has already been completed.

“I’ve gotten my — I will get — part of my physical is already done, and I’ll be getting it before the end of the year,” Biden said.

The president made history on his birthday this past Sunday by becoming the first commander in chief to turn 80 while in office.

Biden is reportedly in talks with his family and close advisers about whether to launch a 2024 reelection campaign. If he successfully runs for a second term, he would be 86 by the end of it.

“I intend to be the most  pro-union president  leading the most pro- union administration in American history,” President Biden promised last year. At least until a rail strike threatened his poll numbers.

Biden is hammering Congress to enact legislation to effectively outlaw a strike next week by 100,000 railroad freight workers. Unions are threatening a work stoppage to compel railroad owners to provide sick leave.

Biden declared in April, “Workers who join a union gain power — the power over decisions that affect their lives.” But not as much power as the president has over them. And considering how disruptive a strike would be for the national economy, Biden needs to stop it.

Liberal activists are stunned at Biden’s apparent betrayal of rank-and-file workers. But the Democrats’ posturing is no surprise. Unions are great — if someone else pays.

A Biden administration employee — and one of the federal government’s first gender non-binary officials — has been accused of stealing a traveler’s luggage from the Minneapolis airport in September.

Sam Brinton, the deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition at the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy, was charged with felony theft after allegedly snatching a Vera Bradley suitcase reportedly worth $2,325 from baggage claim at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on Sept. 16, according to court documents.

Brinton, who uses they/them pronouns, was captured on surveillance video grabbing the luggage and removing its ID tag identifying the owner, the filings state.

They were later seen using the Vera Bradley suitcase on at least two occasions, while traveling to Washington, DC, on Sept. 18 and Oct. 9, investigators said.

Brinton initially denied stealing the suitcase to police officers, but later claimed they took it by mistake and still had it in their possession.
