‘Record’ petition against Spanish tax on solar self-consumption and storage
In less than a week, more than 180,000 Spanish citizens have signed a petition against plans for a new ‘sun tax’ on use of batteries for residential self-consumption of solar energy in Spain.
Meanwhile more than 150,000 citizens signed a petition calling for the immediate resignation of José Manuel Soria, the minister of industry, energy and tourism, whose department put forward the draft law. The new tax could increase payback time for solar-plus-storage owners from around 16 years to 31 years. Hefty fines for infringement, capped at €60 million (US$67.7 million), had also been proposed, which is double the fine for releasing nuclear waste. The tax applies to grid-connected solar PV installations of up to 15kW. Depending on the size of the installation, the fee would be from €8.9 (US$10) per kilowatt for domestic consumers up to €36 (US$40.6) per kW for medium size businesses. José Donoso general director of the Spanish PV association, Union Espanola Foltovoltaico (UNEF), told PV Tech that more than 35,000 comments against the minister were presented. He said the government internet server crashed several times under the number of signatures and comments. He also said the petition had "record" numbers in such a short time. Waiting for the ministry to make a decision, Donoso said: “We will see if the rules will change, or only cosmetic change, or nothing.” A statement on Avaaz, the online platform for the petition, said: “The Ministry of Industry is working around the clock to protect the powerful electric oligopoly imposing new barriers to economically asphyxiate those citizens who wish to produce their own electricity using solar energy. Let us unite to prevent this shameful [sun tax]”. http://www.pv-tech.org/news/record_p...ors_picks=true

Poland to ban wind farms near schools, wind lobby panics
Poland’s governing Law and Justice Party plans to require new wind turbines be built a mile away from homes and schools, citing concerns about rising electricity bills, reducing costly green energy subsidies, aesthetics and health issues.
Poland installed more wind turbines in 2015 than any other European country except Germany. The sheer number of turbines has created a domestic political backlash against them. “There’s a number of reasons our country isn’t run by wind,” Dan Kish, the senior vice president for policy at the Institute for Energy Research, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Where people are familiar with wind power, they tend to develop contempt for it fairly rapidly. Wind turbines are not aesthetically desirable and make no sense from an economic perspective. It only makes sense to politicians who take checks from green energy companies. It ain’t all its cracked up to be.” Naturally, wind lobbyists in Poland are panicking about the potential law. Poland’s plans “will tie projects up in red tape and make life difficult for developers by imposing arbitrary rules that serve no other purpose than to prevent wind turbine deployment,” Oliver Joy, a spokesman for the European Wind Energy Association, told Bloomberg. Even in comparatively progressive places like Vermont or the United Kingdom, wind farms tend to be aggressive opposed by local residents. One of most common complaints about wind turbines by local residents is that they cause “flickering” when the sun is behind their blades. This is generally agreed to be incredibly annoying and there’s evidence that it can cause headaches, sleep disorders and anxiety and depression symptoms in people who live nearby. read full article at source: http://www.cfact.org/2016/03/04/pola...-lobby-panics/

There are a range of problems with the lefty/greens renewable energy crap
1 Wind turbines only create power when the turbines are spinning, no wind = no power generated 2 Solar, needs light, does not generate power at night Until we can come up with something that can provide the guaranteed 24/7 power that coal or nuclear generators can provide than talk of renewable is just talk |

The green energy faggots want to ban cheaper forms of energy like coal and replace it with methods that can't generate as much energy for as low of a price. My electric bill has nearly tripled in the last 8 years because of all the anti-coal bullshit.
Ironically, most of these green energy faggots also happen to be animal rights activists, yet these giant wind turbines are meat grinders for birds. They don't seem to care about the later. But I never implied these people had a fucking brain to begin with.

A question was put to the greens during one of their anti coal rants....at night during summer when there is no wind or light, how do you expect to power your air conditioner when its nearly 40c during the day and still high 20 or low 30 at say 9 pm when everyone has their air con on as well as provide energy for everything else, they had no answer Shutting down the Latrobe Vally mines/generators would mean that those green idiots would not even be able to recharge their phones and laptops yet they seem incapable of understanding that |

German Wind Turbines In Conflict With Health. Physicians Recommend 3-Kilometer Minimum Distance
NDR German public television recently broadcast a critical report on the health effects of wind turbines.
According to state physician Thomas Carl Stiller, infrasound from wind turbines causes an array of ailments among a segment of the population, such as dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, fatigue, sleeplessness and difficulty concentrating. Nationally, protest groups are banding together in numbers never seen before to fight off wind projects, demanding that issues surrounding infrasound and environmental impact be addressed and clarified more thoroughly before wind parks are permitted. According to the video report, German Constitutional lawyer Rudolf Wendt says the norms for permitting wind parks need to be updated as “they originate from the 1990s, the last century!” As wind turbines have grown to huge dimensions, wind park protest group spokeswoman Jutta Reinhardt says that human health “is now in conflict with Germany’s Energiewende” and so there should be nothing to negotiate. German doctors like Stiller say turbines less than 3 kilometers away from occupied buildings should be turned off. Vahrenholt also blasts the plans for further wind parks in the region, claiming that the power grid infrastructure to transport the power to markets on windy days does not even exist, and so the parks are routinely idled. Yet, the wind park operators are still paid (by the power consumer) for the power that would have otherwise been produced. Vahrenholt adds that it’s only the wind park project developers and the wind park operators who benefit. “The bill gets picked up by the private household consumers while nature gets thrown overboard.” read full article at source: http://notrickszone.com/2016/03/26/g....s0CZwO4w.dpbs

One wonders how many of the ugly windmills in the UK are not connected to any turbines and just spinning in the wind so that the constructors could obtain the government grants.
This is a story from France via the Front National I have used the google translation which gives the gist of this scandalous state of affairs in France anr EDF at it here??? http://www.frontnational.com/2016/04...eme-principal/ Press release of the Collective New Ecology An article in the satirical weekly Le Canard chains of 13 April, entitled "Wind farms that sell wind," says a disturbing statement: "Half of the turbines located in France revolve in space, and are not connected to anything. "In his argument, the newspaper is based in fact on simple figures: in France, 10,700 megawatts of wind power were" not connected "to the grid, a total of 21,100 megawatts. But if our wind turbines do not seem to run dry by ERDF, this does not solve the main problem of this energy. This problem is primarily that of the establishment of a fully public EDF holder wind and controlling their balanced presence on the national territory. This is necessary because only a quality public service can provide a long-term framework for implementation of the most respectful wind can rural and our landscapes vigilant on sanitary standards, including about infrasonic disturbances generated by these infrastructures, and above all, anxious to give labor a priority for businesses and French employees.

Greens Reframe Spain's Green Bankruptcy Fire Sale as "Renewed Interest"
How does a green describe the catastrophic aftermath of the $16 billion Abengoa Solar Bankruptcy, the largest renewable corporate collapse in history?
Quote:
In the aftermath of the Paris Agreement, three major energy investment strategies appear to be emerging. One strategy assumes that deeply indebted, cash strapped governments can be squeezed for more subsidies – that politicians can be relied upon to stick to their regularly “revised” commitments to generously subsidise uneconomical renewable energy schemes. The second strategy is speculative – nuclear fusion, next generation nuclear. Technologies which promise a spectacular payoff, once technical hurdles are overcome. The third strategy is based on evidence and evidence based forecasts of a tremendous ongoing global rise in fossil fuel usage, and massive ongoing investment in an energy sector which does not rely on government subsidies to make a profit. You need a license in Spain to collect solar as far as I know. There are inspectors that can inspect your property at whim, no court order, and fine you if you dare to collect the sun without paying your toll. Popularly called the ‘Sun Tax’, it was to help ensure those with solar generation who are connected to the grid & benefit from the grid, paid their fair share of the grid’s availability for when the sun wasn’t shining over their property. AFAIK, that tax was applied only to those with grid connections. read full article at source: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/05/0...ewed-interest/

Even more absurd is that solar panels do not work better roof mounted they just fuck up roofs. You do not need warm sunshine to collect solar energy just daylight. Finally there is no reason why curtain walling cannot be adapted and replaced with solar panels thereby using ugly industrial units to collect power for turbines and not domestic dwellings. They can also be incorporated into skylight windows and thereby having a use. They can even if the right grade of glass envelope is used be laid in roads or at least drive ways and patios. Smothering domestic dwellings in black rectangles is smoke and mirrors that suits cheap manufacture; As energy saving is supposed to have a moral dimension and public service element then the government subsidies should be used on solar panels made in the UK that can be used as driveways and patios and not double glazing salesmen conning old ladies to ruin their own roofs with something that does not come into credit until five years after their death when the unit will probably be obsolete.

Bavaria's highest court rescues the state's idyllic landscape from wind turbine industrialization.
Bavaria’s highest constitutional court (Verfassungsgerichtshof) has just upheld the southern German state’s hotly contested 10 H wind turbine permitting rule which has been in effect since February 2014.
The ruling represents a major landmark victory for wind energy opponents, who have been increasingly shocked by the rampant destruction of Germany’s countryside and natural landscape. They greeted the ruling with loud cheers. The Court’s decision marks a huge setback for the German wind industry, climate protection activists, and for the Germany’s once highly touted Energiewende as a whole. The Bavaraian Green party reacted angrily to the Court’s ruling. According to BR24 leading Green Party official Eike Hallitzky tweeted: Wind turbine proponents were hoping to erect up to 4000 wind turbines in Bavaria, one of the country’s most fabled and idyllic regions and home to world renowned sights such as the Neuschwanstein Castle. The Court’s ruling sends a crystal clear message to the rest of the country, and to Europe: People have had it with watching their landscape being ruined today in order to maybe theoretically protect the climate of the year 2100. After more than 2 years of legal battling, the Bavarian high court’s ruling was awaited with uncharacteristically high suspense from both proponents and opponents of wind energy. Wind energy supporters insisted the 10 H regulation violated the law. Over the past months wind projects across Germany have been met with increasingly fierce opposition. Under the 10 H rule, wind parks can be installed only if they have a minimum distance that is ten times the turbine’s height away from residential homes. That means a 200-meter tall turbine needs to be at least 2 kilometers away from the nearest residential area before it can be approved. In Bavaria that would make the construction of most wind park projects virtually impossible. Germany has some 26,000 turbines in operation producing some 85 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually – which is less than the country’s remaining 8 nuclear power plants. SAT1 writes that wind turbines “are also no efficient form of energy generation, as a glance at the power business shows.” SAT1 adds that without subsidies, most turbines would not even turn a profit. In total Germany already pays out about 25 billion euros annually in subsidies for green energy. Nevertheless CO2 emissions have not dropped in 7 years. In other words: well over 100 billion euros have bought nothing. read full article at source: http://notrickszone.com/2016/05/09/m....jqwym8yJ.dpbs

Trump Says He’s Unwilling to Risk U.S. Energy Wealth for Windmill ‘Dreams’
(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump scoffed yet again at a source of electricity championed by his own energy secretary, saying wind power doesn’t work “all that well.”
“We’re the No. 1 energy producer in the world,” Trump said at the end of a summit of Group of Seven in Biarritz, France. “I’m not going to lose that wealth on dreams, on windmills, which, frankly are not working all that well.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-say...9PWgckWOpv-djN

Europe’s renewable energy policy is built on burning American trees
In the lowland forests of the American southeast, loblolly pines and cypress trees are grabbing carbon dioxide from the air right now. Using power from the sun, they release the oxygen and bind the carbon, building trunks, barks, and leaves.
But much of that carbon won’t stay there. As it turns out, millions of tons of wood from these forests each year are being shipped across the Atlantic, and burned in power plants in countries like the UK and the Netherlands, in the name of slowing climate change. As they steadily wean themselves off coal, European Union nations are banking on wood energy, or “biomass,” to meet their obligations under the Paris climate agreement. That’s because in 2009, the EU committed itself to 20 percent renewable energy by 2020, and put biomass on the renewables list. Several countries, like the United Kingdom, subsidized the biomass industry, creating a sudden market for wood not good enough for the timber industry. In the United States, Canada, and Eastern Europe, crooked trees, bark, treetops, and sawdust have been pulped, pressed into pellets, and heat-dried in kilns. By 2014, biomass accounted for 40 percent of the EU’s renewable energy, by far the largest source. By 2020, it’s projected to make up 60 percent, and the US plans to follow suit. Fueling this boom is a simple, intuitive idea: that biomass is both renewable and “carbon neutral,” and a way to keep an economy built on burning fossil fuels humming along. But a cadre of scientists and policy activists are now pushing back, saying that biomass energy rests on deceptive accounting. Rather than being carbon neutral, biomass is liquidating millions of tons of irreplaceable carbon stocks in the midst of a climate crisis already out of control. Burning carbon to store carbon? There are few bigger players in the biomass industry than Drax Group, whose flagship power plant in the north of England sucks up nearly a quarter of global wood pellet production, about two-thirds of it from the US. The UK has bought big into biomass, and Drax powers 10 percent of the British electric grid, in large part thanks to massive government subsidies: about $1.2 billion a year. Burning wood in its former coal plants, said Drax CEO Andy Koss, means 80 percent savings in carbon dioxide when compared to coal. “And in 25 to 30 years’ time, we’re delivering carbon savings.” The carbon neutrality argument of Drax and others in the wood pellet industry rests on a couple of ideas: first, that the carbon burned in the pellets can be brought back to Earth in the form of new trees; second, that the wood burned is industry waste that would be lost to the air anyway. continued: https://www.vox.com/science-and-heal...ellets-biomass Last edited by Dawn Cannon; February 23rd, 2020 at 12:11 PM. |

The few trees we had in England are currently being felled at an alarming rate and seem to be destined for export (and of course the biomass "market" here)
Please post if you have any info.

I watched the corporate farmers' eastern european tractor drivers (who else would they give a job to) turn a gigantic maize field into tiny, ready for the bio plant bits within hours last november. How many insects and animals also perished, I wonder, in that unripened, chemically treated, GM? soup.

You will no longer be able to burn coal on wood burners, stoves and open fires from next year - here’s what you can burn instead
The above announcement was issued by BritZOG a couple of days ago.
The people will be forbidden to burn coal and wet wood (definition of wet wood was given here - Wet wood is a cheap form of solid fuel often sold at petrol stations and supermarkets. Also known as “unseasoned” wood, it has not been left in storage to dry out fully, meaning that it has a moisture content of 21 per cent or higher. Homes with open fires and wood burning stoves will no longer be able to burn wet wood and coal, under new government rules. Sales of wet wood and coal - the two most polluting fuels - will be phased out in England from February 2021 to help lower air pollution. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) announced the ban in 2018, but has now confirmed that action will be taken, saying people in England need to find “cleaner alternatives”. https://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/...nstead-1886731

Drax power station to stop burning coal
Britain has moved a step closer to phasing out coal after Drax said it expected to stop burning the polluting fuel at its power plant in Yorkshire from next year.
The move, which will result in the loss of between 200 and 230 jobs, heralds the end of almost five decades of coal-fired electricity generation at the UK’s biggest power station. Most of the station near Selby has been converted to burn biomass wood pellets, which qualify for renewable energy subsidies. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/d...coal-0s0mbl2z9 |
