Knox County Criminal Court Judge Bruce Baumgartner isn't happy with attorney Bruce Poston. Poston failed to show for a scheduled hearing for his client Letalvius Cobbins earlier this week. At the time, he cited a medical issue. Baumgartner reset the hearing for Friday, much to the dissatisfaction of the families of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Today, after removing Poston from the case, Judge Baumgartner let him have it. Volunteer TV's Rob Pratt reports from the courtroom, Baumgartner told the families he will accept any portion of the blame for the delay, but most of it lies at Poston's feet. Baumgartner told Poston his delay affected eight lawyers and the victims' families. Baumgartner told Poston this has been a pattern for him, and he ordered Poston to appear before him on November 12th to show the judge cause why Poston should not be held in contempt of court. Poston was not taken into custody today. But was advised he can retain his own counsel for the hearing on November 12th, if he wishes |
