Very interesting history Lutador, thank you for posting it. He fought for the good guys in WW2. Brazil should never have fought against Germany because there are many Germans there, just like here in the US.

Ewald's daughter Lili Marlene drives a Volkswagen, too.

P.S.--I bought Italieri plastic model kits when I was a kid. One of them was a model of the battleship Bismarck.

I'm glad you liked it, Comrade Ray.

And I also think the same, Brazil should never have fought Germany.

President Getúlio Vargas' Brazil and Hitler's Germany were friendly nations until 1942, when the International Left sowed distrust between the two nations, and Brazil, unfortunately, declared war against Germany.

There was a great affinity between the nationalist government of President Getúlio Vargas and Hitler.

The balance of trade, commercial exchanges and the commercial partnership between Brazil under Getúlio Vargas and Germany under Hitler were a complete success.

The head of the Brazilian political police, Filinto Müller, visited Germany in 1937, at the invitation of Himmler.

In 1928, the Brazilian section of the National Socialist Party was founded in Timbó, Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil.
But the party was not registered with the Electoral Court, because, according to the then ambassador of Germany to Brazil, Karl Ritter, there were express guidelines that the party should not meddle in the internal affairs of Brazil.
The organization was the second largest supporter cell outside Germany, surpassed only by the organization of the National Socialist Party in the United States.

Private Ewald was born in the southeast region of Brazil, where I lived for many years, and then he moved to the southern region of Brazil, where I was born.

I also really liked his story.

Default Also meet the Brazilian who fought in the Luftwaffe

He was born in the same city I was born in, and this is an honor for me.

https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egon_Albrecht

Egon Albrecht

Egon Friedrich Kurt Albrecht

Birth May 19, 1918
Curitiba, Parana
Brazil

Death August 25, 1944 (age 26)
Creil, France

Egon Albrecht (Curitiba, May 19, 1918 — Creil, August 25, 1944) was a Brazilian-born German fighter pilot who fought in World War II for the Luftwaffe, having won 25 confirmed air victories.[1]

Egon Albrecht was the only Brazilian awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. This total of 25 victories includes 15 victories on the Eastern Front and another 10 on the Western Front, including at least 6 four-engine bombers. He even destroyed 11 on the ground on the Eastern Front.

As Brazil has been the destination of many German immigrants since the end of the 19th century, mainly in the southern states, and since Brazil declared itself on the side of the Allies, this did not please many young people here who returned to Germany.

The little that is known about him before joining the Luftwaffe is that he was born in the city of Curitiba, State of Paraná, Brazil, on May 19, 1918, the son of Frederico Albrecht and Hedwig Elditt Albrecht. He left for Germany before turning 18, as he was a member of Hitlerjungend, where he could only stay until he was 18 years old, where he probably learned to fly.

The Oberleutnant Albrecht was awarded the Iron Cross Knight's Cross (German: Ritterkreuz) on May 25, 1943 for its 15 aerial victories, another 11 aircraft destroyed on the ground, 162 motor vehicles, 254 various vehicles, 3 locomotives , 8 Flak positions, 12 anti-tank weapons and 8 infantry positions destroyed on the ground.

Death

On August 25, 1944, during a combat mission, Albrecht was forced to drop out of formation due to an engine problem on his plane (a Messerschmitt Bf 109G-14, werkenummer 460593, code "schwarz 21"). While returning to his base alone, his plane was attacked by American fighters - the specific unit is unknown - and was shot down near St. Claude, northwest of the city of Creil (France). Although Albrecht managed to parachute, he arrived dead on the ground, where his body was looted by civilians. It is still speculated today if he was wounded in combat or if he was machine-gunned by enemy fighters while he was parachuted, this being a war crime, something not so uncommon in the period for both sides.

There was a poster on VNNF a few years ago, 'White Brazilian Boy,' who used this same photo (the bottom one) of Albrecht as an avatar.

Thanks for the links, Comrade Johan; they are an important contribution to this thread.

And yes, Comrade Ray, I remember White Brazilian Boy and this photo; we had a good contact of comrades, more or less in 2017 and 2018.

This video is about Brazilian Egon Albrecht, who fought in the Luftwaffe, which we talked about above, and about Chilean Klaus Junge, who fought in Heer.

Greetings followers; Today, we will talk about the story of two South Americans who fought in the German Army during World War II. The first, a Brazilian Luftwaffe pilot, and the second, a young Chilean lieutenant in the Heer. I hope you like it, and as always, thanks for all the support.

Tragic when Brazil's government, at the coercion of FDR's jew-heavy regime in Washington, declared war on Germany and Brazilians of German and Italian descent had to fight their brothers in Europe just as German-Americans and Italian-Americans did.

Yes, Comrade Ray, this was sad and revolting.

As we see in this thread, some warriors did not accept this condition.
