Rights watchdog sounds alarm over Dutch Islamophobia
* Reports Muslims being ‘disproportionately targeted’ by security policies * ‘Jew’ being used as an insult STRASBOURG: Islamophobia is gaining ground in the Netherlands, with Muslim minorities facing rising violence and discrimination, a pan-European anti-racism commission said in a report released on Tuesday. The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) found Islamophobia in the country to have “increased dramatically” since 2000, reporting that Muslims were “disproportionately targeted” by security policies and were facing racist violence and discrimination. The ECRI studies and makes recommendations on the problems of racism and intolerance in the 47 states of the Council of Europe. Tensions have been fuelled by national and international events, such as 9/11 attacks in the United States and the murder of outspoken columnist and filmmaker Theo van Gogh by a radical Muslim in 2004, the report said. “The tone of Dutch political and public debate around integration and other issues relevant to ethnic minorities has experienced a dramatic deterioration,” it said, warning of a “worrying polarisation between majority and minority communities”. It found that the country’s Muslims – a community of one million people, or six percent of the population – had faced “stereotyping, stigmatising, outright racist political discourse and biased media portrayal”. The Moroccan and Turkish communities were especially hard hit, it said. Community tensions had also led to a rise in anti-Semitism, the report found. The report also found that anti-Semitic insults and expressions had “tended to become a feature of everyday life, reflecting in part a similar trend in Holocaust denial, notably among the younger generations”. Insult: According to the report, the word “Jew” is increasingly used as an insult and different aspects of the Holocaust are reportedly questioned in everyday situations, including in schools. The Dutch government, in an annex to the report, replied that it had adopted anti-racism legislation, opened anti-discrimination offices around the country and taken steps to fight discrimination in the job market. But a Dutch minister said on Friday the government wanted schools, public bodies and public transport companies to forbid clothing that covers the face – although it would not explicitly ban the burqa. European Union ministers and Dutch Muslim groups have also expressed serious concern about plans by far-right Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders to make a potentially inflammatory film about the Quran. Wilders, who has been under round-the-clock protection since the filmmaker Van Gogh was murdered for making a film critical of Islam in 2004, said this weekend his film would be aired in March. afp |

Netherlands will not accept "anti-Semitic" slurs
Published: Sunday 18 May 2008 15:34 UTC
Last updated: Sunday 18 May 2008 15:34 UTC The Netherlands will not accept it if there are any attempts to call Israel a racist state at a UN conference in the South African city of Durban next year. Interior Minister Maxime Verhagen said this at a meeting at the Centre for Information and Documentation on Israel to mark the state's sixtieth anniversary. The last conference in Durban in 2001 failed because a number of Arab countries wanted to label Israel a racist country. Israeli and Jewish organisations were excluded from preparatory meetings and anti-Semitic cartoons were circulated while other organisations failed to take any action to stop it. Mr Verhagen said that the Netherlands was involved in the organisation of the new Durban conference and would not hesitate to withdraw if there is a similar negative spiral of events. http://www.radionetherlands.nl/news/...iSemitic-slurs |

This thread should be renamed. Holland is, technically speaking, only a part of the Netherlands. It'd be like calling all of Germany “Bayern” or “Preußen.”

Nederland - Vlaanderen
As well in Holland and the Dutch speaking part of Belgium, Vlaanderen, people speak Dutch. I think there should be a section called: Nederland - Vlaanderen for people who speak Dutch.
Moderation Is there a moderator who can read Dutch on VNN? And now in Dutch: Zowel in Nederland als Vlaanderen wordt Nederlands gesproken. Daarom zou het wenselijk zijn dat er hier op het VNN-forum een afdeling Nederland - Vlaanderen komt. Moderatie Is er een moderator op het VNN-forum die Nederlands kan lezen? |

Dutch legislation to recognise lesbian parents
A soon-to-be introduced legislation will make it easier for lesbian couple to be recognised as a child’s parents.
13 August 2008 THE NETHERLANDS - Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin is introducing draft legislation which will make it easier for both members of a lesbian couple to be recognised as a child's parents. Lesbian couples would no longer have to appear before a judge to gain such recognition. As the law now stands, adoption procedures are used to regulate the situation of non-biological mothers within same-sex relationships. Hirsch Ballin says the interests of the child will be served by streamlining the law. http://www.expatica.com/nl/articles/...n-parents.html |

Dutch thought Anne Frank House 'not worth saving'
06/10/2008
Report: Dutch thought Anne Frank House 'not worth saving' http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1026861.html AMSTERDAM - The Dutch government in the 1950s had no objections to tearing down the house where Anne Frank wrote her wartime diary, a newspaper report said on Sunday. The place where the young Jewish girl described life hiding from persecution by the Nazis was not considered worthy of preservation, De Telegraaf said, quoting from a letter written by Joseph Luns, the foreign minister at the time. Luns said the house where Anne and her family hid from 1942 until her betrayal in 1944 was "not a historical monument of the Netherlands" and unremarkable from an architectural point of view. The letter, dated May 3, was sent to the Dutch ambassador to the United States, informing him of the official position of the Ministry of Education, Art and Science toward the Anne Frank House. The newspaper said the letter was discovered recently when the part of the ministry's archives was being moved to a new home. According to the Anne Frank Foundation, it was apparently written in response to questions by Americans as to why the house was not declared a historic building. |

Dr. W.J. Bruyn overleden
Op 8 september 2008 is Dr. W.J. Bruyn overleden.
Bijgaand een in memoriam van drs. A.J.C. Vierling Dr. W.J. Drs. A.J.C. Vierling http://www.alfredvierling.com/bruyninmemoriam.html |

Dutch liberal leader : Holocaust denial should not be a crime
27/05/2009
Dutch liberal leader: Holocaust denial should not be a crime http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1088643.html A proposal to decriminalize Holocaust denial in the Netherlands by the leader of the Dutch liberal party touched off controversy in the party on Wednesday and drew criticism from prominent Jewish figures and from the political establishment. Mark Rutte, head of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), said Dutch law should only prosecute those inciting to violence, not hatred. Claiming the Holocaust did not occur "should be possible," Rutte added. Sources close to Hans van Baalen, frontrunner for VVD in the European Elections next month, told Haaretz he opposed Rutte's proposal and was considering voicing his reservations. Van Baalen - known for his favorable attitude toward Israel - was unavailable for comment. AdvertisementCurrently, Dutch law prohibits Holocaust denial only when it is purposefully used for discriminatory ends or meant to offend. Rutte said he intends to try and change this in the framework of a bill which the liberal VVD party will present to parliament, proposing to abolish all restrictions on freedom of expression. "Holocaust denial is almost always intended to offend and discriminate," said Henk de Haan, a notable former parliament member for the ruling CDA party. "Dutch society needs to defend against this. I'm shocked by this proposal and strongly disagree with Rutte, with whom I've worked and know to be a worthy and pleasant man." De Haan is a member of a non-governmental committee which monitors human rights abuses, nuclear weapons procurement and Holocaust denial by Iran's leadership. "A person like [Iranian President] Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cannot be allowed to visit Holland, and we need to keep the laws on this," he said. Rutte's bill would make it impossible to prosecute Geert Wilders, leader of the rightist Party for Freedom, who is now facing trial for comparing the Koran to Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. A party spokesperson said the party had no comment on the issue. Ronny Naftaniel, head of the Hague-based Center for Information and Documentation Israel - Holland's largest Zionist group - said that cases like that of Wilders are different to Holocaust denial because "people can choose a religion, but they cannot choose their ethnicity or the color of their skin." Naftaniel - who has criticized Wilders for the comparison - told Haaretz that Holocaust denial "is almost always used for a political purpose, which is discrimination. This needs to be nipped in the bud before it's too late." He added: "Holocaust denial causes psychological pain to survivors. Rutte underestimates the intensity of the pain that this allowing this will needlessly cause them." |

VVD leader under fire over Holocaust
VVD leader under fire over holocaust
29-05-2009 http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archive...e_over_hol.php Liberal party (VVD) members and senior officials have reacted angrily to party leader Mark Rutte's suggestion that denying the holocaust should no longer be a crime. Rutte made the suggestion as part of a plea for more liberal freedom of speech laws. 'But he should never have used this [the holocaust] as an example,' one MP told the Volkskrant. Dozens of complaints have been made to party HQ and some people have cancelled their membership, the paper says. Local branches have also been fending off angry members. 'I have had 15 to 20 and that is not insignificant in a local party with 200 members,' Tony Colijn, of the Ede town branch was quoted as saying. A poll by tv show EénVandaag showed 46% backed Rutte and 48% were opposed. Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen said on Thursday that Rutte had lost his way. MP Geert Wilders, who claims to be a champion of free speech and is also a great friend of Israel has yet to comment on Rutte's suggestion. Rutte told Nos radio on Friday that he was sorry for the commotion his comments had caused. He said he had not raised the issue of the holocaust but had been asked about it by reporters and had tried to give a straight answer. Denying the holocaust would usually be a crime because 'it almost always happens in the context of encouraging violence', he told Nos radio. |

Already today the VVD leader downplayed his remarks.
Now he says that denial of the holyhoax must be punishable unless it doesn't cause hate. Well, our whole justice department is in the claws of the kike mafia. And they consider literally everything that they don't like HATE. What a joker! Even his remarks were a hoax. |

But the 'investigator' was the Swiss born kike Uriel Rosenthal, who runs a very wellpayed organisation COT (Crisis Investigation Team) within the walls of the University of Leiden, and the jew-corrupted government of the Netherlands often hires him in for "advice". Uri(el) Rosenthal When a council member questioned the suitability of Rosenthal to research the Maroccan community because of his Jewish background, hell broke lose in Rotterdam. Mayor Opstelten denounced the council member and proclamed that "this went to far, this had certain insinuations you simply DON'T DO, also not a NEARLY A BIT, simply TOTALLY NOT. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech!" This hysterical reaction of Opstelten reflected the untouchable and influential position of jews within the VVD, from which Uriel Rosenthal happens to the senator. Now we have witnessed the same hysteria, a signal to the goyim of the untouchable position of jews and their corrupt holohoax power house. Even Ivo Opstelten - who has now a high position within the VVD - spoke out again, now openly in canon with his kike boss Uriel... Quote:

Holocaust victim's diary presented to minister
Holocaust victim's diary presented to minister
http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/ho...ented-minister 22 November 2009 17:08 The diary of a holocaust victim has been presented to the deputy Dutch Minister of Health Jet Bussemaker in a former theatre in Amsterdam. The Hollandse Schouwburg was used by the Nazi occupiers in the Second World War to hold Jews and other Holocaust victims before dispatching them to transit camps in the Netherlands and then to Nazi concentration camps. The diary of Klaartje de Zwarte-Walvisch was found in a transit camp near the Dutch town of Vught. In it the 32-year-old seamstress describes the last terrible months of her life. The diary begins on the day of her arrest, 22 March 1943, when Jew hunters drag her and her husband to the Hollandse Schouwburg and ends on 4 July 1943 when she is sent to another Dutch transit camp Westerbork. Later she is transported to Sobibor, where she was sent to the gas chambers. Ann Frank also passed through Camp Westerbork, before she died of typhus in Bergen-Belsen. The raw tone of her descriptions of life in Vught portray an impressive and shocking picture. Like Ann Frank, she wanted other people to read her diary, in it she wrote: “I desperately hope everything I have written in this diary reaches the outside world.” Klaartje's brother-in-law retrieved the diary when he accompanied her to Camp Westerbork. It had been in the possession of the Jewish Historic Museum in Amsterdam for a few years and was discovered during the making of a television series on the Second World War. The programme-makers went in search of the identity of the anonymous seamstress and discovered her name on the transport lists. |

Anti-Semitism on the rise in Amsterdam
Anti-Semitism on the rise in Amsterdam
Published: 26 January 2010 http://www.nrc.nl/international/arti...e_in_Amsterdam In 2009, the number of anti-Semite incidents in Amsterdam doubled compared to the year before. The Jewish community fiels under siege. On an evening during the week-long Jewish holiday of Sukkot, Ber van Halem (22) crossed a street in Amsterdam’s affluent Zuid neigbourhood, only to hear a group of boys invoke a Dutch ethnic slur (“Kankerjood”) involving both a deadly disease and his Jewish heritage. Not once, but several times. |

EU asked to intervene in Dutch anti-Semitism
EU asked to intervene in Dutch anti-Semitism
June 15, 2010 http://www.jta.org/news/article/2010...-anti-semitism (JTA) -- In the wake of the desecration of a 280-year-old synagogue and other recent anti-Semitic incidents in the Netherlands, a Jewish group has asked the European Union to intervene. The Simon Wiesenthal Center, in a letter issued Tuesday to EU Foreign Minister Baroness Catherine Ashton, requested the EU's "intervention to investigate the rampant epidemic in anti-Semitic incidents in the Netherlands," due in part to the current "political vacuum in the Netherlands following General Election." "In addition to the synagogue desecrated with red spray-paint late last month, a commemoration ceremony for the last transport of 3,000 Jewish children deported to their death was disrupted by passing bikers shouting ‘Heil Hitler’ during the mourners’ Kaddish prayer; Hyves, known as the Dutch Facebook, has postings rife with calls ‘to murder all Jews’ and for ‘Adolf Hitler to finish the job’; the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel in the Hague reported receiving phone messages calling for ‘many gas chambers to be built’; and children from the Rosh Pina Jewish elementary school were continually abused during an organized walk through south Amsterdam,’ " in recent weeks, according to the letter from Shimon Samuels, the center's director for international relations. Anti-Semitic incidents in the Netherlands reportedly grew by 64 percent in 2009, the center said. Anti-Semitism increased in the year 2009 throughout the world, according to reports. The center urged Ashton “to condemn such incidents and the climate they portend, to take measures to investigate their origin and to impress upon the, as yet, unformed new Dutch government, its responsibilities to the entire European Union to contain a scourge that will not end with the Jews.” |
