German musician / comedian Ingo Insterburg dead at 84
Don't know if people outside Germany are familiar with him and his band , but . .
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingo_Insterburg ( there is no english wikipedia on him , hope you don't mind ) Insterburg was a musical genius . . He could play several instruments at one time . . . Do not believe me ? Check this . . ( hope the vid is available in y'all's respective countries , never can tell that from "here" , lol ) Apart from that he had some , well , amusing lyrics . . His former band . . lol , they were suckers for . . well . . 'unconventional' postures . . lol The group called 'Insterburg & Co' was dissolved in '79 though . . Insterburg died aged 84 in October . . Two things tie me to him and his group. . First , they were a hilarious group ( have rarely witnessed such humour ) , second as it happens my personal last name ( on my ID ) happens to be Insterburg-Sykes . . So , in a way , our last names are / were "similar" . . Though I have to admit that for Ingo that wasn't even his real last name , he was just so tied to his birth place ( Insterburg , East-Prussia ,in the former German Ostgebieten ; today named Chernyakhovsk . .) , that he named himself after that town , lol , originally Ingo Wetzker . . The fact that part of my personal last name also stems from that town I can only explain that one of my distant ancestors maybe stemmed from this region , we never really 'traced' our family record , lol . . Farewell , Ingo . . On a side note . .One shouldn't draw the conclusion from the fact that they all more or less belong to the "generation of '68" ( "Hippies") and from their 'wild rover'-style that they necessarily were 'left-wing' . . They also have some politically incorrect songs . . Such as . . ( don't know how much viewers understand German yet I think one gets the message of that song ANY WAY . .) My favourite of theirs . . ( song in many languages ) I sincerley hope the vids are available in y'allz countries because this music really is worth checking . . Farewell to one of Germany's biggest entertainers and namesake of mine . . |

I might mention , concerning this memorial I did for Ingo , even at an “old age“ he still tried to revive ’Insterburg & Co’ . . lol
Even though the new set-up didn’t quite ’look the same’ . . lol We all get older . . lol Some have “their fun“ ’til an older age . . . |

Truth be told, that stuff sounds a bit like American bluegrass.
Are you familiar with it? |
