1000 US troops deploying to build offshore port for Gaza aid

The Pentagon released details Friday of its plans to construct a temporary pier off the Gaza Strip's coast to help flow more than 2 million meals a day into the country, using an established military capability that officials say can build and deploy the structure without having American troops on the ground.

Over the next 60 days, roughly 1,000 troops will deploy to the Mediterranean Sea to build a floating platform where cargo ships can offload aid onto smaller military vessels, which will transfer them to a causeway attached to the beach, where trucks can pick it up and distribute it within Gaza, Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, a Pentagon spokesman, told reporters.

"The concept that is being planned involves the presence of U.S. military personnel on military vessels offshore, but does not require U.S. military personnel to go ashore," Ryder said.

President Joe Biden first announced the effort on Thursday night during the State of the Union Address.

The capability, dubbed Joint Logistics Over-The-Shore, has most recently been used during Exercise Talisman Sabre, Ryder said, an annual event based in Australia.

The modular causeway will be assembled offshore and driven to the beach, where it will be anchored ashore.

The Pentagon's plan for floating piers and a causeway to surge humanitarian aid into Gaza is drawing fire from military experts for its lack of detail, potential danger to US troops, and risk of mission creep. Bottom line, it's a bit of a head-scratcher.

"Biden is committing the United States military to conducting a highly complex, very expensive, low-production operation to bring food into the strip - when Biden could massively increase the amount of food into the strip with far less effort or expense: demand that Israel merely open the damn gates and roll hundreds of trucks awaiting entry right now. Airman on hunger strike at White House over Gaza support

Inspired by a U.S. airman who set himself on fire in front of an Israeli embassy in protest of the war in Gaza, an Air Force member has begun what he says will be a long-term hunger strike in front of the White House while taking leave from service.

On Easter Sunday, Senior Airman Larry Herbert, 26, began a hunger strike in front of the White House to highlight the chronic starvation in the Gaza Strip brought on by the war between Hamas and Israel, accordfing to a press release by Veterans For Peace.

Reached by Task and Purpose, Herbert said, "I'm going to continue the strike until I physically cannot or until we obtain a permanent ceasefire and enough food to feed all of Gaza. I've been on leave for two weeks and have plenty more." However, Herbert also said he's already spoken to officials in his command and knows he "probably won't be getting any sort of extension."

Herbert is standing outside of the White House this week with a sign that reads "Active duty airman refuses to eat while Gaza starves," though he is not wearing a military uniform. He plans to do the same in front of Congress next week, and to be outside from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day during his hunger strike. His strike will include zero food, water and small amounts of juice, he said.

I'm not sure if the National Guard is technically part of the military (I remember that Bushwhacker II was sending them to fight in jew wars 20 years ago) but this piece of shit needs to be strung up.

The National Guard (not to be confused with state militias, which are actually Constitutional) are part of the 'murrcan military. It says 'US Army' and 'US Air Force' on their costumes, not the name of their state. Under the 1916 National Guard Act, they are normally under control of their individual states and the state's governor, and are only supposed to be federalized in time of war or national emergency. Of course that hasn't stopped Washington from sending them to every Bumfuckistan country in the world to fight jew wars along with the active-duty military, playing fast and loose with "national emergency" such as the "War on Terror." Federalizing them for war is also illegitimate, since Congress has not officially declared war on anyone since 1941. So, green niggers they are. Gov. Greg Abbott is actually using the Texas "National" Guard in a lawful manner, employing them to stop the beaner invasion across the border and it's the Feds who are interfering with that. But Abbott should have booted the turd invaders back to Mexico or shot them instead of putting them on planes and sending them to places like Shitcongo and elsewhere within the US.
