Michael Cohen can write tell-all book while on home confinement

By Ben Feuerherd
July 30, 2020

Michael Cohen will be free to write his upcoming tell-all book about President Trump — but only from the comfort of his own home, according to stipulations for his home-confinement agreement that were finalized Thursday.

The conditions of his home confinement, which were agreed up by the Bureau of Prisons and Cohen, say the former Trump fixer can only leave his apartment for work or unless he is “given specific permission to do otherwise.”

Cohen will be free to speak to the media and write his much-hyped, tell-all book about Trump, according to the terms.

Michael Cohen has job offer to be a political consultant, lawyer says

By Associated Press
August 6, 2020

President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer has been offered work as a consultant and to make media appearances for a political action committee, his lawyer said Wednesday.

Michael Cohen hopes to accept the offer to work on the committee’s behalf, attorney Danya Perry told U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein in a letter aimed at ensuring the judge does not object. She did not identify the committee.

She wrote that Cohen also plans to have discussions with his editor and publisher “as quickly as possible” to achieve his goal of publishing a book critical of Trump before November’s election.

The judge ordered Cohen released from prison two weeks ago, saying the government returned him to prison in July in retaliation after Cohen said publicly that he planned to publish the book titled “Disloyal: The True Story of Michael Cohen, Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump.”

‘Don’t believe a word he utters’: Democrats trot out ex-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen as RNC counter-programming

24 Aug, 2020 23:57 / Updated 1 day ago

A Democrat super-PAC is airing ads during the Republican National Convention featuring Michael Cohen, once a personal lawyer to President Donald Trump and now a Resistance darling eager to slate his former boss.

Trump “can’t be trusted” and Americans “shouldn't believe a word he utters,” Cohen tells in a short video clip that appeared Monday evening.

“Virtually everyone who worked for his campaign has been convicted of a crime or is under indictment,” he says. “Myself included.”

Michael Cohen agrees to appear on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

By Vincent Barone
August 20, 2020

Disgraced former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen is taking his act to “Late Night.”

The convicted Cohen, who was the president’s longtime personal lawyer, said he’s agreed to appear for an interview on NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers” as he promotes his forthcoming tell-all on Trump, “Disloyal.”
(...)
Cohen has been cooped up in his Upper East Side apartment under home confinement where he was released amid his three-year federal sentence after pleading guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violation.

Under the conditions of his home confinement, which was granted due to the coronavirus pandemic, Cohen is free to speak to the media.

Michael Cohen shares ‘theory’ of what Trump will do if he loses 2020 election

By Emily Jacobs
September 9, 2020

If President Trump loses to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in November, he will resign as commander-in-chief in order to allow Vice President Mike Pence to take over and pardon him for any alleged crimes.

That’s the theory of the commander-in-chief’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, he revealed Tuesday night.

The 54-year-old disbarred ex-attorney — who is currently one year into a three-year prison sentence on charges of lying to Congress, tax evasion and campaign finance violations — shared his hypothesis in an interview with MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

Michael Cohen living large in ‘home confinement’ as he takes a stroll in Central Park

By Laura Italiano
September 26, 2020

Prison is just a walk in the park if you’re Michael Cohen, as these new photos show.

President Trump’s former fixer spent Friday morning ambling through Central Park, where he greeted a well-wisher, sat on a tree-shaded bench and chatted animatedly on his cell phone.

The now-disbarred attorney remains on “home confinement” due to prison coronavirus concerns — two-thirds into his three-year federal sentence for lying to Congress, tax evasion and campaign finance shenanigans.

Cohen, who lives on the Upper East Side, on Friday avoided his favorite fancy neighborhood restaurants, Avra and Le Bilboquet, and the kind of in-your-face display of leisurely luxury dining that got him in trouble in July.

Michael Cohen wants Trump to testify in his suit against Trump Organization

By Priscilla DeGregory
December 14, 2020

Michael Cohen wants to call President Trump to testify in his case against the Trump Organization — once the commander-in-chief is out of office, new court papers show.

Cohen — Trump’s one-time personal lawyer and “fixer” — sued the Trump Organization in 2019 for nearly $2 million in legal bills that he ran up because of his cooperation and testimony during probes by special counsel Robert Mueller and several congressional committees into the president.

Cohen claimed that the company agreed to indemnify him for all of those legal costs.

Michael Cohen says he deserves a shorter sentence

By Rebecca Rosenberg
December 22, 2020

President Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen filed a lawsuit Monday arguing that he deserves early release from home confinement under a sentencing reform signed by the president.

Under the First Step Act, Cohen says he “could be eligible for release in a matter of weeks or months” based on credit for good behavior and hundreds of hours of work and prison courses completed when he was locked up at FCI Otisville.

He argued that his home confinement should be shortened by months — but the US Bureau of Prisons told him in a letter that he is “not entitled to any credits for his work performed at FCI Otisville.”

Michael Cohen: ‘Rudy Will Give Up Donald in a Heartbeat’

PAM KEY 29 Apr 2021

Michael Cohen, formerly a personal lawyer for former President Donald Trump, predicted Thursday on CNN’s “Newsroom” that Rudy Giuliani would do what he did and turn on Trump.

Cohen said, “I told him was that Donald Trump doesn’t care about anyone or anything, that he will be the next one to be thrown under the bus, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen.”

Michael Cohen: Trump’s Children Will Be Indicted ‘Next’

PAM KEY 1 Jul 2021

Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen predicted Thursday on CNN “Newsroom” that Manhattan prosecutors investigating the Trump Organization will indict former President Donald Trump’s children Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric “next.”

Anchor Alisyn Camerota said, “There were other people mentions, other employees, and it sounded like it goes beyond Allen Weisselberg. You think this is bigger than Allen Weisselberg. Who do you think is next to be indicted?”

Michael Cohen Predicts Donald Trump, His Adult Children Will Be Indicted

PAM KEY 22 Nov 2021

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said Monday on CNN’s “Newsroom” that former President Donald Trump and his adult children will be indicted.

Anchor Alisyn Camerota said, “I talked about how all of this stemmed from the hush money payments to Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, and you were the only person prosecuted for the hush-money payments. How do you explain that?”

Cohen said, “You can’t explain this. But I make this promise, I may have been prosecuted, and right now, I am the only one, but I will not be the only one.”

Michael Cohen: prosecutors could ‘indict Trump tomorrow’ if they wanted

New York investigation of Trump Organization is one of a number of sources of legal jeopardy for the former president

Martin Pengelly in New York
Sun 28 Nov 2021 17.01 GMT

Prosecutors in New York could “indict Donald Trump tomorrow if they really wanted and be successful”, the ex-president’s former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen said on Sunday, discussing investigations of Trump’s business affairs.

Asked if he was “confident you did help Donald Trump commit crimes”, Cohen told NBC’s Meet the Press: “I can assure you that Donald Trump is guilty of his own crimes. Was I involved in much of the inflation and deflation of his assets? The answer to that is yes.”

Cohen also repeated his contention that Trump will not run for the White House in 2024, because his huge fundraising success while hinting at such a run is too profitable a “grift” to give up.

The Manhattan investigation of the Trump Organization, including whether Trump cheated on property valuations for tax purposes, is one of a number of sources of legal jeopardy for the former president.

Michael Cohen and Rudy Giuliani have awkward run-in at NYC hotspot

By Emily Smith
February 21, 2022

Warring former Donald Trump consiglieres Michael Cohen and Rudy Giuliani had an awkward run-in that left onlookers wondering if “hell had finally frozen over.”

The dueling former personal attorneys for the ex-president were both at buzzy restaurant Fresco by Scotto on Thursday night.

Sources at the power-broker spot said restaurant managers had planned to seat the awkward duo at separate sides of the establishment — but the plan went terribly awry.

A source told us, “Before they arrived, other VIPs snagged their planned tables and ultimately the two Trump-connected figures ended up with neighboring tables.

“There was zero interaction between them and when ex-NYC Comptroller Bill Thompson walked in, he went over to say hello to the former mayor.”

Michael Cohen cashing in on jail time with line of prison-themed merch

By Oli Coleman
February 28, 2021

Donald Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen — who was infamously sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion and campaign finance violations — is cashing in on his jailbird past with a line of prison-themed merch.

His “Mea Culpa” podcast has produced several items, including a “get out of jail free card” and orange jumpsuits.

The suits can be personalized with name tags featuring customers’ names, or have a name tag reading, “45” — a cheeky reference to his former boss, the 45th president of the United States.

Michael Cohen declares 'the end is near' for Trump after FBI raid

Cohen said that 'No one is above the law!' in a tweet

By Adam Shaw | Fox News

Michael Cohen, a former attorney for former President Trump, declared on Tuesday that "the end is near" for his former boss after the FBI executed a search warrant at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

"Here’s what Trump’s attorneys should be telling him: ‘when the fbi raids, all you can do is prepare for jail.’" Cohen tweeted. "No one is above the law!"

He tweeted the message along with the hashtag "#KarmaBoomerang" and an image of an uncomfortable-looking Trump with the caption: "The End is Near…"

Michael Cohen Predicts Trump’s Allies Will Turn on Him in FBI Investigation — ‘None of Them Want to Go to Prison’

TRENT BAKER 21 Aug 2022

This week on MSNBC’s “The Sunday Show,” former Donald Trump attorney Michael Cohen weighed in on former Vice President Mike Pence considering meeting with the January 6 committee amid its ongoing investigation into former President Donald Trump.

Cohen predicted that all of Trump’s allies from his time in the White House would flip on the former president because “none of them want to go to prison.”

“Look, I don’t know what Mike Pence knows, other than to say he probably knows everything,” Cohen outlined. “But, in your previous segment, you were talking about flipping Mike.”

Michael Cohen: Trump Won’t Run in 2024 – ‘He Does Not Want to Go Up Against’ Liz Cheney

PAM KEY 29 Aug 2022

Former lawyer to President Donald Trump, Michael Cohen, said Monday on SiriusXM’s “Mornings With Zerlina” that Trump will not run for a second term because “he does not want to go up against” Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).

Cohen said, “I do not believe Trump is going to run. First of all, he knows that he can’t win the general election statistically, and his fragile ego will not allow him to be a two-time loser. I just want to be very clear on that.”
