September 19, 2018 - 09:10

In the Eastern Military District, during the mass redeployment of troops to their home bases, after completing the Vostok 2018 maneuvers, a new system of integrated control over the movement of columns was used.

Exactly 76 years ago, on November 19, 1942, the volleys of the Soviet multiple rocket launchers “Katyusha” and the blows of heavy guns of the Red Army near Stalingrad plunged the Nazis into horror and numbness... Successful start of operation "Uranus" (largely due to artillery units) gave rise to the feast of missile and artillery.

The holiday was first established in 1944 as Artillery Day, and since 1964 it has been celebrated also by representatives of the Missile forces.
