ELECTIONS Published January 6, 2023 12:30am EST

Trump, Newsom, DeSantis? A look at who's running, and who's out of the 2024 presidential election.

The next presidential election will take place on Nov. 5, 2024

By Kyle Morris | Fox News

Tuesday marked the start of the 118th Congress, and Americans are now shifting their focus to the 2024 race for the White House.

President Biden — the oldest person ever to hold the office of president of the Unites States — has not officially declared his candidacy in the 2024 presidential race, but past remarks from the president and those close to him suggest that he will seek a second term in the White House.

In November, Biden told reporters that it is his "intention" to run again and that his decision on whether he would seek re-election would come "early" in 2023.

As Biden mulls whether to seek re-election, his presidential predecessor, Donald Trump, along with a list of other Republicans, are already entered into the race or are considering making a run for the White House in 2024.

McCarthy thanks Trump after House speaker vote: 'He was with me from the beginning'

Trump made calls to several lawmakers urging support for McCarthy, who was finally elected House speaker after four days of intense debate

By Chris Pandolfo | Fox News

Newly elected Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., gave special thanks to former President Donald Trump for his role in the negotiations that won over several Republican holdouts and led to McCarthy winning support from his conference to be elected speaker.

"I do want to especially thank President Trump," McCarthy told reporters early Saturday morning. "I don't think anybody should doubt his influence. He was with me from the beginning … he was all in."

Concluding four days of high drama, the House of Representatives elected McCarthy as speaker on the 15th ballot, after he made several concessions to a group of 20 hardline Republicans who had withheld their support from him on the first 14 votes. The holdouts had demanded rules changes that would decentralize power in the House, greater representation on the powerful Rules Committee, and commitments to cap spending and launch investigations into alleged abuses of power by the FBI and other Biden administration agencies.

In the end, McCarthy won 216 votes, which was enough to win the election after six remaining holdouts voted "present" and lowered the threshold. They were Reps. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Elijah Crane of Arizona, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Bob Good of Virginia and Matt Rosendale of Montana.

Biden's 'irresponsible' handling of classified docs bigger 'leakage' risk than Trump's, experts say

'There were absolutely no additional measures to safeguard and protect the information,' says one expert of Biden's storage of classified materials

Kyle MorrisBy Kyle Morris , Ashley Papa | Fox News

Security experts are sounding off about President Biden's handling of classified materials, suggesting that the documents could have been more susceptible to leaks than those found in former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate last year.

Under scrutiny from Republicans, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel Thursday to investigate the classified materials, which Biden claims were "inadvertently misplaced."

The Justice Department escalated it to a special counsel investigation from a mere review after a second stash of classified documents was found inside the garage of Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home. The first documents were found inside the Washington, D.C., offices of the Penn Biden Center think tank. Garland tapped Robert Hur, a former U.S. attorney, to handle the investigation.

Charles Marino, the CEO of Sentinel Security and a former Homeland Security Department advisor who specializes in law enforcement, told Fox News Digital that Biden's handling of the documents, compared to Trump's, could have resulted in greater potential for "leakage."

Poll: Biden Beating Trump, Narrowly Losing to DeSantis

PAUL BOIS 12 Jan 2023

A new poll shows Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) narrowly beating President Joe Biden in a hypothetical matchup, while former President Trump trails by eight points.

Surveying 1,035 voters between January 2-8, with a margin of error +/- 3 percent, the WPA Intelligence poll conducted for the conservative Club for Growth showed that President Joe Biden leads his former rival Donald Trump by eight points, while Ron DeSantis narrowly leads the current president despite his lack of name recognition. As I've said before, DeSantis is a bit better than Trump, but in the end he's also a jew-lackey, just like all the other politicians.

Trump trounces DeSantis in potential GOP primary match-up, new poll finds

BY JARED GANS - 01/18/23 10:15 AM ET

Former President Trump holds at 17-point lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in a hypothetical GOP primary match-up, according to a new poll.

A Morning Consult poll released Wednesday showed Trump with 48 percent support among potential Republican primary voters, followed by DeSantis with 31 percent. Trump’s front-runner position differs from some polls since the November midterm elections, which have shown DeSantis closing the gap with Trump or taking a lead in some cases.

Former Vice President Mike Pence came in third with 8 percent, followed by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) with 3 percent. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) both received 2 percent.

Trump’s support in Morning Consult polls over the past month has stayed between 45 and 50 percent, while DeSantis has hovered around 30 percent.

Among Trump voters in the most recent poll, DeSantis is comfortably the second choice, with 44 percent backing the Florida governor. About 20 percent would support Pence, and 7 percent would back Cruz.

Just over a third of DeSantis supporters would vote for Trump as their second choice, while 14 percent would support Pence and 13 percent would back Haley.

Democratic lawmakers point fingers at Trump amid Pence, Biden classified documents discoveries

Democratic lawmakers have called for an 'even standard' across the Trump, Pence and Biden investigations

By Sophia Slacik , Kelly Phares | Fox News

Democratic lawmakers continue to point fingers at former President Donald Trump amid new revelations that President Biden and former Vice President Mike Pence improperly stored classified documents.

Last week, dozens of classified documents were discovered in Pence's Indiana home. The news comes on the heels of investigations launched into Biden and Trump for their own alleged mishandling of classified documents. Pence's legal team handed over the classified records to the National Archives on Jan. 18, and the National Archives later notified the FBI, per standard procedure.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told reporters on Wednesday that since Pence and Biden cooperated with authorities in handing over classified documents immediately, they are in contrast to Trump, whose "stonewalling" and "obstruction" is at the heart of this "criminal investigation."

"It's reached a point I'm not surprised, and I should be," Durbin added of the Pence reports. "As careful as we are in dealing with these documents that are secret and classified, as members of Congress, it appears the executive branch is not as careful."

Trump seeks to shift his idling White House campaign back into gear

By Gram Slattery, Steve Holland

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump will seek to kick his campaign for the 2024 Republican nomination into gear this weekend, with a pair of campaign stops in key early-voting states more than two months after he announced his intention to run.

The appearances in New Hampshire and South Carolina are an opportunity to address complaints from some fellow Republicans that his intended rematch with Democratic President Joe Biden has gotten off to a slow start, but they may also illustrate a weakening grip on the party.

Key South Carolina allies U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and Governor Henry McMaster are expected to join Trump in an event at the state capitol, but some other well-known Republicans are staying away. They include two with possible White House ambitions of their own, former Governor Nikki Haley and U.S. Senator Tim Scott.

That is a sign that some key Republican donors and activists are looking for other options to challenge an expected Biden re-election campaign, including Haley as well as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, according to interviews with a dozen party officials, donors and strategists this week.

MAGA Republicans in Florida Criminalize Free Speech in Controversial New Bill

January 27, 2023
By Jazzhands McFeels

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA – Republican members of Florida’s House of Representatives Mike Caruso and Randy Fine, who is Jewish, have proposed controversial new legislation that would criminalize certain forms of constitutionally-protected speech as “hate” crimes.

The new bill, HB 269, would make all of the following 3rd class felonies:

Any person distributing flyers involving materials that have religious or ethnic animus

Any person stalking, harassing or interfering with someone based on their religious or ethnic heritage will now be commenting a 3rd-degree felony

Any person who willfully and maliciously defaces, injures or damages a religious cemetery, memorial, religious school or community or public or private property with a religious or ethnic animus will now be committing a 3rd-degree felony

Any person who projects an image of religious or ethnic animus, indoors or outdoors, without permission, written permission from the owner of the property, will be commenting a 3rd-degree felony

Any person who willfully interrupts or disrupts, disturbs any religious school or religious service with a pretense of ethnic or religious animus will be commenting a 3rd-degree felon

The legislation appears to be in direct response to recent viral activism by NSF (National Socialists Florida) and the GDL (Goyim Defense League).

Speaking at the press conference announcing the bill, co-sponsor of the bill Mike Caruso asserted:

“If we don’t do something now, then soon we will just be 1933 Nazi Germany here all over again.”

1933 Nazi Germany was the outcome of a fair and open election process in which the Nazi Party became the democratically-elected winner of statewide multi-party elections which resulted in Adolf Hitler becoming the chancellor of Germany. As a result, Jews presiding over post-WWII denazification banned all multi-party elections in Germany until 1990.

Today, not much has changed. Without citing specific verbiage in the First Amendment to support his claim, Jewish Florida State Rep. Randy Fine said:

“You have the right to be an idiot in the United States. We have the First Amendment; it doesn’t mean you have the right to be an idiot and exercise the First Amendment.”

Caruso went on to invent special rights for Jews that simply don’t exist in the context of protected speech:

“They deserve and have the right towards quiet enjoyment in their communities and the ability to practice their Jewish faith without reprisal, without fear of harm.”

Such cavalier and reckless statements made by lawmakers have been repeatedly rejected for decades in at least six million pages of U.S. case law and contradicted by numerous public statements made by prominent political leaders declaring that the First Amendment does, in fact, give you the right to be an idiot.
(...)
Randy Fine is a Jewish MAGA Republican and former Harrah’s gambling executive who is known for his outspoken support for similarly unconstitutional anti-BDS legislation and has made derogatory remarks and calls for violence against Palestinian children on his Facebook page, celebrating war crimes such as the bombing of the Gaza Strip.

Big time Jew ass kisser, maybe more so than Rick the Slimeball Scott.

Floriduh is Jew infested. Missouri voters voted for a Republicunt Jew because he shot big guns on his campaign ads that got the rednecks fired up. Luckily the MO lawmakers had better judgement and forced him out of office, and were going to impeach him if he didn't resign.

In implied rebuke to Trump, Republican Party denounces Kanye West and Nick Fuentes

BY RON KAMPEAS JANUARY 29, 2023 8:45 AM

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Republican Party unanimously condemned as antisemitic Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, saying their beliefs have no place in “any political discourse.”

The official resolution passed on Friday at the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting represents an implied rebuke to former President Donald Trump, who recently dined and consulted with the men, but does not mention him.

The resolution opposes “all forms of antisemitism, antisemitic statements and any antisemitic elements that seek to infiltrate the Republican Party.” It names West, the rapper and designer now known as Ye, saying he “has repeatedly made statements that are antisemitic, shameful, wrong, offensive, bigoted, and contrary to American and Republican principles.” It also names Fuentes, noting that he is a white supremacist.

Trump dined with West and Fuentes in November, not long after West launched a barrage of antisemitic statements on social media and interviews. Fuentes has long been known as an antisemite and a Holocaust denier.

Donald Trump wanted to be president — in 1988, new book reveals

By Carl Campanile
February 3, 2023

Donald Trump first tested the waters to run for president in 1988 — three decades before his election to the White House, according to his then-pollster.

“I did the first poll for Donald Trump to test his chances of being elected president of the United States — in 1987!” veteran pollster Doug Schoen writes in his forthcoming memoir about his 50 years in politics titled, “POWER: THE 50 TRUTHS, The Definitive Insider’s Guide.”

“When I conducted Trump’s first private presidential poll in 1987, he was planning to run as a moderate independent, not the hard-right Republican he is today. He was once a registered Democrat,” said Schoen.

Back then, Trump was known as “The Donald” in the tabloids.

Trump was an astute reader, the veteran pollster noted.

“Trump is a tabloid headline-writer manqué. When I worked with him in the 1980s, other politicians were scrutinizing the New York Times. His principal daily read was the brassy New York Post,” Schoen writes.

Josh Kushner now ‘richer than Trump’ — and his more famous brother

By Thomas Barrabi
January 25, 2023

ared Kushner’s baby brother will be picking up the check the next time he has dinner with his better-known sibling.

Josh Kushner, founder of Thrive Capital, has seen his personal fortune soar to an estimated $3.7 billion, according to Bloomberg’s calculations, after his firm secured a major investment from several billionaires.

Disney CEO Bob Iger and KKR co-founder Henry Kravis were part of a group that paid $175 million to acquire a minority stake in Thrive Capital, the firm announced on Tuesday.

The infusion of cash allowed the 37-year-old Kushner, who is married to supermodel and TV personality Karlie Kloss, to eclipse the net worth of his ex-White House adviser brother and even former President Donald Trump.

Jared, 42, and his wife, Ivanka Trump, have disclosed personal assets worth between $206 million and $803 million, according to the outlet. Trump is worth an estimated $2.6 billion.

The son of disgraced real estate developer Charles Kushner, Josh founded Thrive Capital in 2009 after a stint in private equity at Goldman Sachs.

Thrive has specialized in tech-related investments, making early bets on major firms such as Spotify, Instagram, Twitch and Stripe.

Trump lawyers hand over laptop, more classified documents to feds: report

By Victor Nava
February 10, 2023

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team has given federal prosecutors more documents with classified markings and an aide’s laptop in recent months, according to a report.

The handovers happened in December of last year and in January, according to CNN. Also turned over to investigators was an empty folder marked “Classified Evening Briefing,” the news outlet reported.

Lawyers for the 76-year-old former commander-in-chief reportedly discovered the documents during a search of boxes at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in December and turned them over to the Justice Department.

The laptop, which belongs to an aide employed by Save America PAC, reportedly contained copies of the same documents found by Trump’s lawyers in December, and it was given to investigators in January, along with a thumb drive.
