Montreal statue of Sir John A. Macdonald once again defaced
October 7, 2018 A downtown Montreal statue of Sir John A. Macdonald has been spray-painted red, only hours before the start of a demonstration to denounce racism and the newly-elected Coalition Avenir Quebec government. An anonymous group of anti-colonial, anti-capitalist activists are claiming responsibility for the damage, which police say occurred Saturday night. https://globalnews.ca/news/4525375/m...again-defaced/ |

Sir John A. Macdonald statue in Montreal doused in red paint -- again
For the fourth time in just over a year, a statue of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada’s first prime minister, has been vandalized with red paint in Montreal. The monument in Place du Canada was defaced Monday morning and police say they have no suspects. In the past, various anti-racist and anti-colonial activists have taken credit for the vandalism. https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/sir-jo...gain-1.4230632 |
