Alec Baldwin discharged a prop firearm on the set of a Western he was making in New Mexico on Thursday, killing the film’s director of photography and wounding the movie’s director, the authorities said.

The cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, 42, was killed, and the director, Joel Souza, 48, was injured around 1:50 p.m. on the set of “Rust,” said Juan Rios, a spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office. The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation.

A tragedy occurred on the set of the latest Alec Baldwin movie where the actor reportedly accidentally shot and killed a female cinematographer and injured the director due to a prop gun misfire.

“Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on a set in New Mexico on Thursday, accidentally killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza,” reported Variety.

Sources told Deadline, which initially reported that the incident occurred when Baldwin reportedly “cocked a gun during a rehearsal, unaware that there were live rounds in it, hitting two people, a man and a woman.” Representatives for Baldwin, a rabid anti-gun demagogue, did not immediately respond to media requests for comment.

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin declared on Friday that his heart is “broken” after he accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the upcoming Western movie ‘Rust’ this week.

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” Baldwin tweeted, adding that he is “fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred” and is in touch with Hutchins’ husband.

The Left is trying to shut down criticism of liberal elitist Alec Baldwin and trying to paint the reckless shooting of two people as some sort of unavoidable tragedy. Bull feathers.

At best, you have a horrible jerk liberal, who screams at his subordinates, who promises his workers hotels in a nearby town, but then reneges and forces them to drive 50 miles each morning, who runs things so badly the prop union members and seven people on the camera crew walk off the job, and then he violates ALL the rules of safe gun handling, points a pistol with not just one person, but two in his line of fire and pulls the trigger, having failed to check the firearm himself even though he knew the union prop handlers were no longer there.

After killing a defenseless unarmed woman, his first instinct was to blame the person, who handed him the gun. Alec Baldwin is 63 years old and should have known how to check a firearm himself (assuming he wasn’t too arrogant to talk with the little people). If he doesn’t know, he should have shut down the movie until the prop handlers came back rather than trust the cheap replacement personnel, who clearly didn’t know what they were doing.

Family of Marine killed in Afghanistan sues Alec Baldwin for defamation

The family of a Marine killed in Afghanistan during the Biden administration’s chaotic troop withdrawal has sued Alec Baldwin for defamation, claiming the actor falsely accused the serviceman’s grieving relatives of being insurrectionists.

Rylee McCollum, 20, of Wyoming, was one of 13 US service members killed in the Aug. 26 bombing outside the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport, where they were processing would-be evacuees to be flown out of Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover.

After McCollum’s death, Baldwin found one of the Marine’s sisters, Roice, on Instagram and sent her a check for $5,000 for his widow, Jiennah Crayton, and her newborn, according to the suit filed Monday in federal court, the Casper Star Tribune reported.

The actor told Roice that the check was a “tribute to a fallen soldier,” according to the Cowboy State Daily.

But then this month, Baldwin accused Roice of taking part in last year’s riots in the nation’s capital and called her an “insurrectionist” after she posted a photo on Instagram that she took on Jan. 6, 2021 at the Washington Monument, the outlets reported.

She posted the image on her page on Jan. 1, ahead of the one-year anniversary of the invasion of the US Capitol.

Roice, who attended a demonstration in support of President Donald Trump, was not involved in the riots and was never accused of any crimes during the mayhem, according to the news outlet.

Neither Crayton nor McCollum’s other sister, Cheyenne, were reportedly at the Capitol on the day of the riots.

“Are you the same woman I sent the $ for your sister’s husband who was killed during the Afghanistan exit?” Baldwin reportedly wrote on Roice’s Instagram post from his account, according to the complaint.

“When I sent the $ for your late brother, out of real respect for his service to this country, I didn’t know you were a January 6th rioter,” the “30 Rock” star reportedly wrote in a private message.
