The news that Senator Joseph Lieberman had his two children on the campaign payroll as fundraisers with six-figure salaries raised some concerned eyebrows last month in the American Jewish community. Sure, Matt and Rebecca Lieberman are hard and effective workers, and since then have even taken a conspicuous pay cut — but couldn’t their father get them a job in a less conspicuous place?

The Connecticut senator, though, is only doing what dozens of other politicians have been doing of late: bringing his children into the family business.

To be honest, Jews aren’t really upset about the fact that Lieberman hired his children or even that he paid them high salaries. The discomfort with the personnel choices of the first Jewish candidate to make a serious run at the presidency is that his behavior is subjected to a higher level of scrutiny by the general public. In a word, what Jews fear is how it looks to the goyim: clannishness and underlying hypocrisy about meritocracy and nepotism.

A "dangerous sexual predator" who groomed and raped vulnerable children has been jailed.

Abdullah Mhana, 26, from Bradford, would use social media apps to target children and arrange to meet them in car parks. He would then make them perform sexual acts.

One of his victims was an 11-year-old girl.

Mhana struck up a relationship with her, pretending to be a 17-year-old boy, when he was aged 23.

He also had 14,000 indecent images of children on his devices. Some of the victims have not been identified.

Appearing at Bradford Crown Court, Mhana of Hirst Lodge admitted 17 child sex offences, including five of rape.

A father was shot in the head by a gang of youths in front of his 12-year-old son in Sweden on Wednesday evening — an inexplicable attack that has brought the rise in criminal gang activity to the forefront of the country’s political discourse.

The man in his 40s and his son were cycling towards the local swimming pool in Skärholmen, southern Stockholm, when they were confronted by a gang of young people near an underpass.

An altercation ensued and the father was shot in the head by one of the youths in broad daylight.

According to the Expressen, the gang threatened the man and his son, leading the protective father to ask his son to keep his distance while he returned to the gang and confronted them.

The gang of three to four youths reportedly fired at the man, causing him to attempt to seize the weapon before he was shot dead with a single bullet to the head.

“I don’t know if they said anything about his son, if that’s why he turned around. It doesn’t matter anymore,” the victim’s sister told the Swedish tabloid.

“It feels like a joke. I am so angry. It was so unnecessary he turned back,” she said. “He could have just continued into the bathhouse, not turned back. But he was like that. Didn’t like injustice. It cost him his life.”

Emergency responders were dispatched but were unable to save the man’s life who died at the scene.

Sweden has experienced a record number of shootings in recent years, correlating with a dramatic rise in criminal gang activity primarily in its major cities. Many of the criminal gangs are dominated by foreign nationals who recruit Swedish minors to undertake high-risk work including drug deals and attacks on rival gangs.

A feminist teen was arrested in France on Tuesday after being reported to police by a Green Party mayor for demanding that foreign rapists be deported from the country.

Two teenage activists associated with the feminist identitarian Collectif Némésis group attended a carnival in the eastern French city of Besançon on Sunday and held up placards that read, “Free us from immigration” and “deport foreign rapists.”

The European Parliament has approved the controversial EU Asylum and Migration Pact, which will see countries forced to accept their fair share of new arrivals into the bloc or pay a fine for every migrant they reject.

The new asylum and migration package was passed largely with votes from lawmakers affiliated with the European People’s Party, the Socialists and Democrats (S&D), and Renew Europe, with MEPs being urged to swallow their criticisms of the scheme and vote for the compromise legislation.

“History made,” tweeted European Parliament President Roberta Metsola as she praised what she described as a “robust legislative framework on how to deal with migration and asylum,” noting it had been “10 years in the making” but the EU had kept its word.

Some MEPs on both the left and the center-right revealed they voted through the pact despite its many flaws.

“The new legislation is not perfect but we can only make migration manageable and humane with one European solution,” said Hilde Vautmans, foreign affairs coordinator for Renew Europe.

Nationalist politicians across Europe expressed their anger at the passing of the pact, which they claim cedes sovereignty to an ever-centralized European Union.

Ukraine, which no longer holds elections, is ahead of Hungary in terms of democracy, according to a major German media group index that references 10 experts, nine of whom are directly funded by billionaire oligarch George Soros and his Open Society Foundations.

The results were produced by the German Bertelsmann Foundation’s democracy index, which was published in the print edition of the media group’s Frankfurter Allurement Zeitung,

Despite Hungary having a functioning and vibrant democracy that includes actual elections, the index claims that the country is less democratic than Ukraine, which is under martial law, has banned opposition parties, and has no elections.

According to the paper’s analyst, the new EU member states have made huge political and economic progress since 2004, with only Poland and Hungary representing or still representing a “politically authoritarian tendency.”

Spain: Four bodies found in boat as arrivals increase

The bodies of four women have been found in a boat off southeast Spain. They are thought to be migrants from North Africa. Meanwhile, the numbers of those arriving across several routes to Spain are increasing, particularly on the Atlantic route towards the Canary Islands.

On Friday (April 12), the bodies of four women, reportedly of North African appearance, were found in a rubber dinghy off the coast of southeast Spain. Coast guards spotted the boat early on Friday morning, reported the news agency Associated Press (AP).

Marine rescue services towed the boat to shore. The Spanish authorities are now conducting autopsies on the bodies to establish the cause of death. No other people were found in the boat, reports AP.

According to Spanish Interior Ministry figures, in the first three months of this year, 15,351 migrants arrived on routes to Spain. That is more than 4,000 additional arrivals than during the equivalent period in 2023.

She turned him down, but Ali again asked if she would meet him for a date in Manchester for food. Ali then made arrangements for the teenager to travel to Hull. He met her at a taxi rank in the city centre before taking her to a property he had rented for the night.

An Iraqi couple living in Germany are suspected of enslaving, torturing and raping two Yazidi girls over the course of years. The two suspects were arrested in southern Germany on Wednesday, April 10, announced the Karlsruhe Federal Prosecutor’s Office, which handles terrorism cases.

Twana H. S. and his wife Asia R. A. were members of ISIS between October 2015 and December 2017 in Iraq and Syria, the prosecutor’s office announced in a statement.

The newly approved EU migration pact is causing controversy across Europe.

While the Eastern European wing, such as Slovakia and Hungary, does not agree with the reform and the new liberal government in Poland says it opposes the measure in principle (even though its MEPs voted in favor), the Western and Southern states, such as Germany, Italy, and Greece, welcome the pact.

The results of Wednesday’s vote in the European Parliament also raised the debate about how important EU member states’ veto is in key issues of promoting national-state interests.

In the Czech Republic, opinions on the adoption of the package differ both among politicians and MEPs. While the Minister of the Interior and head of the STAN movement Vít Rakušan welcomed the result, the founder of the strongest opposition movement ANO Andrej Babiš criticized the decision and wants to call an extraordinary meeting of the Czech Parliament’s lower house.

The approved package includes several measures designed to combat illegal immigration, including more effective background checks on migrants and a more efficient returns process for unsuccessful asylum seekers.

However, the controversial solidarity principle that will see member states forced to accept migrants from overloaded countries or face financial penalties, has caused outrage among some member states who consider the move to be yet another power grab by Brussels.

Slovakia has voiced its concern over the migration pact’s ability to be a long-term sustainable solution, with its foreign ministry leading the charge in a damning statement following the pact’s adoption in the European Parliament.

“Slovakia does not agree to the principle of solidarity with the condition of the mandatory acceptance of illegal migrants on its territory,” it wrote. “According to the head of Slovak diplomacy, states should decide for themselves what form of aid they choose, without an order for a mandatory or material contribution.”

“Illegal migration is a huge challenge facing the EU, and it is our duty to solve it primarily in accordance with the sovereign interests of our homeland,” added Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár. “It must be openly admitted that the protection of the Schengen Area against illegal migration is not sufficient and the new migration pact will not solve this problem.”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was more blunt, describing the pact’s adoption as “another nail in the European coffin” and insisting that “unity is dead” within the Union.

Migrants who commit a serious crime, even those who have been granted asylum, should be deported, Fianna Fáil Senator Lisa Chambers has said.

The Midlands-North-West candidate for the European Parliament went further than the recommendation in an internal Fianna Fáil report on immigration that recommends that asylum seekers who commit a *serious crime while awaiting decisions on their international protection applications should be immediately deported.

Ms Chambers’s comments follow the European Parliament vote this week to approve the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. The pact provides for faster decision-making on asylum seekers’ applications and for member states to share responsibility for applications allowing for them to be relocated. Member states would make financial contributions where they do not wish to accept asylum seekers.
