I managed to watch 9 minutes 20 seconds of it before thinking.
What sort of a jew loving cunt would promote this shit on a white forum. Not only promote it but tell the world what a smart guy he is for finding all 10 episodes. We are in desperate times when arse holes like that are calling themselves white nationalists. |

No just the bit where the innocent anti Nazi freedom fighters are lined up against a wall and shot.
Same old tired jewish lies but set in the 6ts. It is sickening that a former member of the British Nationalist and Socialist Movement would encourage people to watch this filth. Have they got red snow ashes for Polish jews and blue snow ashes for French jews. Now that would make it totally realistic according to the original manuscripts. |

He was a good story teller for someone brought up as a Quaker and High Castle is another good story - I am not suggesting anyone uses it as scholastic or historical reference - Though, why not? in light of the system distortion of history - I enjoyed it including the clumsy product placement such as the ashes and the islamic freedom bantu freedom fighter - What does anyone want or expect from a TV programme? Watching it is free will and in this particular case available free as well don't watch it seems the obvious solution to those pained by such endeavors.

The third season begins next month.
In this preview, we get to see what the flag of the resistance will look like: As you can see, it is the same as the NS German flag, except that the swastika has been replaced with the death rune. The Death Rune! Let at one sink in for a moment. |

Yet another tear-dripping emotional holocoaster. Acting is good, costumes, props and worldbuilding pretty nice, but then it comes due to muh poor Jew as soon as the bounty hunter is revealed. It goes on another "axis is evil" spiral from there. Oh, and the resistance is led by a groid muslim. Verdict: 5/10 for making me wish for such a future.

It will be interesting to see how they portray George Lincoln Rockwell.
I am sure it will be with dignity and respect.

I have just finished watching the final season of The Man in the High Castle. I was originally not going to watch the entire series, because in the twenty-fifth episode the tide began to turn, and it appeared that the resistance was going to win. However, after watching the entire series, I recommend all four seasons, as the expected victory of the resistance did not come to pass.
The series can be appreciated on three levels: (1) as an exposition of what the United States might have become had Germany won the war, (2) a study of the divided loyalties a parent may face between the good of his children and the greater good, and the personal struggles that may ensue, and (3) a science fiction story about alternate universes. The first two are interesting in and of themselves. The possibility of alternative universes I cannot take seriously, as it is no no way plausible and is highly problematic. However, using the science fiction of alternative universes is a very useful and entertaining vehicle to explore what might have been. I highly recommend Episode 5 of Season 4 entitled "Mauvaise Foi," in which John Smith from the High Castle universe travels by portal to our universe and encounters his wife and son there. It is both very touching and amusing, as his wife and son from that universe think that he is the John Smith from their own universe, and there is some awkwardness as he tries to pretend that he is the husband and father from that universe but doesn't understand certain things that are going on. After having watched the entire series, I am highly convinced that at least some of the writers had National Socialist sympathies. I say this not only because of the clean, orderly world that is presented in the series, but also because of a couple of subtle but clear bits anti-American material that are introduced into the series. Spoilers to follow video. In our universe, John Smith, who fought on the American side in World War II, admits that he did things that he was ashamed to talk about. In other words, in the series it is admitted that the United States committed atrocities in the war. Furthermore, in the High Castle universe, John and Helen Smith have three children, but in our universe they have only one child. The John Smith of the High Castle universe laments that his counterpart in our universe only had one child, and that his daughters were never born. In other words, he tacitly acknowledges that National Socialism encourages having more children, whereas the American way of life discourages it, and that National Socialism is superior in that regard. There is one scene in the final season in which an earie parallelism is made between the two worlds. In the High Castle universe, John and Helen's son Thomas voluntarily submits to euthanasia due to his having an incurable disease. There is a very moving scene in which he says good-bye to his mother and walks off to a waiting van to take him off to his death. In our universe, Thomas volunteers to fight in Vietnam, and there is a similarly moving scene, which directly parallels the earlier one, in which he says good-bye to his mother and walks off to a waiting van to take him to boot camp and possible death in Vietnam. Whereas the other two anti-Americanisms were rather subtle, this scene was in no way subtle and was clearly meant to illustrate the the United States certainly had its bad elements. The final episode ends rather inconclusively. There is the obligatory crying over the holocaust nonsense, followed by what looks to be a very satisfactory resolution of all the conflict in the story, when a couple of rather disappointing things happen, leaving the viewer to ponder the ending. Nonetheless, I highly recommend the entire series to everyone, friend and foe alike.

I have just finished reading the novel The Man in the High Castle by Phillip K. Dick. Although I have heaped praises on the televsion series, I cannot say the same about the novel. The most interesting character in the television series was the main character John Smith. His struggles and interactions with his son Thomas, his wife, and his other children were what made the whole series worth watching. However, the character John Smith is entirely missing from the novel. It was added to the television series to prop up an otherwise weak story line. Without John Smith, we are left with a story about Robert Childan, Mr. Tagomi, Frank, Ed, Juliana, and Joe. I couldn't find myself caring about any of the characters besides Joe, although the Robert Childan in the novel is somewhat more likeable and less cowardly than the one in the television series. I found the novel altogether pointless.
A similar dichotomy exists between the novel and movie versions of Fatherland. I had enjoyed the novels on ancient Rome by Robert Harris as well as the movie version of Fatherland, but I can't say the same for the novel. One of the exciting things of watching the movie version, as well as the television version of The Man in the High Castle, is seeing a world in which Germany won the war come to life on the screen. In the novel Fatherland, however, all those details are missing. Instead, we have the author's descriptions of what a dull and dreary place Germany had become. The descriptions sounded more like descriptions of the Soviet Union than of NS Germany. I still highly recommend the movie Fatherland, if only for its visuals of what a victorious Germany would have looked like. Except for a short segment near the end about the "Holocaust," which can easily be skipped over, the rest of the movie reads like a murder mystery set in a victorious NS Germany. If you drop the final scene and tack on, in its place, Kennedy's "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech, you have quite an excellent movie.

I have not watched the show, but I found this an interesting scene--the Imperial Japanese Navy entering SF Bay. I agree with the comments that if the Yamato-class battleships were still around in 1962, the 18-inch main guns would still be there, but the ships would have been updated with missile armament, improved radars and such. The Bismarck would have also received this modernization had it survived, or would be decommissioned by the 1960s. The IJN carrier, Taiho-type, it appears, has an angled flight deck and jet fighters just like the u.s Essex-class got in real life. I would say the Russian Kamov-type helicopter would be plausible if the Japanese appropriated some Russian aviation technology.

In youtube comments people make the mistake of not perceiving that PKD was a science-fiction writer, not an historical revisionist. The alternative history is a vehicle for his ideas of alternative realities, as also in his novel ''Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?'' filmed as ''Bladerunner''. |

Imagine how badass the Yamato, Musashi, Bismarck and Tirpitz would have looked in the 1960s with missile launchers, antisubmarine helicopters, and modern (for the 60s) radars and fire control systems in addition to their big guns. Probably similar to what the US Iowa-class battleships looked like from the 1960-90s before they were finally retired. The German Kriegsmarine and Imperial Japanese Navy would probably have nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers by then, too.

They make movies about imaginary "Nazi" victories, but they never make movies about the real horrors that actually happened when the Commies took over 1/4 of the world after the allied "victory" !

Here is a native German speaker critiquing the German used in the series. The relevant portion starts at 28 minutes into the video.
