Post Shooting incident in Iran parliament, news agencies report

LONDON A man opened fire in the Iranian parliament on Wednesday and injured a guard, a witness said.

The semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that a guard was hit in the leg, and two members of the public were also injured.

The identity and the motivation of the assailant was still unclear, Tasnim said.

The witness told Reuters that security forces had massed inside and outside parliament, and that the incident was now over.

Iran’s parliament, Imam Khomeini's Mausoleum come under attack
Wed Jun 7, 2017 6:42AM
HomeIranPolitics

Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) and the Mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in the capital Tehran have come under armed attack.

At least four gunmen have reportedly intruded into the premises of the Majlis, opening fire on the security guards there.

Two people are said to have lost their lives in the firefight. At least 31 others have also been wounded, according to IRNA.

The assault has forced a lockdown on the legislature.

Tehran MP Elias Hazrati has said that the assailants were armed with Kalashnikovs and handguns.

According to lawmaker Mehdi Kiaee, the situation is under control inside the parliament, while security forces are working to restore calm there.

Tasnim said in an update that the hostage rescue team of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has arrested two “terrorists” in the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum.

The IRGC hostage rescue forces also killed one assailant at the parliament, according to Tasnim.

An Interior Ministry source said a suicide bomber has blown himself up on the fourth floor of the parliament building, where he was holed up.

None of the lawmakers have been harmed in the attack, which hit the parliament's center for public meetings.

Separately, Fars said in a Twitter post that three gunmen attacked the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran, opening fire on people inside and wounding a number of them.

The report said one of the assailants has been killed, another has blown himself up and a third one has been injured.

Informed sources say a suicide bomber’s explosive vest has also been discovered and deactivated in the vicinity of the mausoleum.

Iranian security forces seize explosives from a terrorist at the site of an armed attack at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum, southern Tehran, June 7, 2017.

Iran’s state television quoted an Intelligence Ministry source as saying that the twin attacks in Tehran were being treated as terrorist incidents.

IRNA cited an official with the Intelligence Ministry’s Counterterrorism Department as saying that several terrorist teams had entered the capital earlier in the day.

One of the terrorist teams was busted before managing to stage any attacks, while two others attacked the parliament building and the mausoleum. At the shrine, one bomber was killed before setting off his explosives, but another managed to blow himself up.

The Takfiri Daesh terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the Tehran attacks through its propaganda outlet Amaq.

White House Blames Iranian Victims for ISIS Attack

written by daniel mcadams
wednesday june 7, 2017

It is particularly bloody to use an official statement of sympathy over a terrorist attack as a vehicle to promote war against the victim country, but that is exactly what the Trump White House did today after dual attacks in Iran left at least a dozen civilians dead.

In a breathtaking display of cruel indecency, Trump's team used the attack as an occasion to stick the boot in and blame the victims.

Wrote the White House:

Quote:
We grieve and pray for the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks in Iran, and for the Iranian people, who are going through such challenging times. We underscore that states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.
In other words, too bad you got killed but because we determine your government to be "state sponsors of terrorism" you got what you deserved.

When was the last time Iran or Iranian allies attacked the US or US interests? If we count Beirut, it's been over three decades. Why exactly is Iran a "state sponsor of terrorism"? Because they haven't buckled under aggression from Saudi Arabia and threats from Israel?

Blaming the victims in Tehran for an attack undertaken by ISIS -- which ironically has ties to the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, US ally Saudi Arabia -- shows the rest of the world just what kind of monsters control our foreign policy in Washington. The rest of America should be ashamed and disgusted by those who claim to rule over us, "promoting freedom" in our name.

Blaming the victims sure has a familiar ring to it. To those who are jew-wise, it sounds like Trump's handlers are admitting zog complicity.
