Destroyer can’t deploy because CO won’t get COVID vaccine, Navy says

Quote:
An ongoing legal battle over whether the military can force troops to get vaccinated against COVID-19 has left the Navy with a warship they say they can’t deploy because it is commanded by an officer they cannot fire.

It’s a standoff the brass are calling a “manifest national security concern,” according to recent federal court filings.

The issues stem from a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida late last year alleging servicemembers’ rights are being infringed upon by the COVID vaccine mandate because their religious beliefs prevent them from taking the vaccine.

Judge Steven D. Merryday issue an order last month banning the Navy and Marine Corps from taking any disciplinary action against the unnamed Navy warship commander and a Marine Corps lieutenant colonel for refusing the vaccine.

Nancy Pelosi and other Munchkins in Congress unveiled a new American flag with the bottom rows of stripes replaced with Ukraine's colors. Unlike the real American flag, this one might get you kicked out of the NFL if you dare kneel.

Ukraine is the latest in the string of wars with the Seal of Approval from the New World Order that George H.W. Bush announced to Congress on September 11, 1991.
Exactly 10 years before some people did something.

What they did on 9/11 was enable the creation of another Cabinet bureaucracy with 240,000 people. We also got the Patriot Act and Big Brother-style see-something, say-something public service announcements.

The New World Order was created in the wake of the Kuwait War (commonly called the Gulf War). The New World Order gave us the Yugoslav wars in Slovenia (1991), Croatia (1991–1995), Bosnia (1992–1995) and Kosovo (1998–1999).

9/11 gave us our Afghanistan War (as opposed to the USSR's) and the second Iraq War. And there was the offing of Gadhafi, which ignited a civil war, created millions of refugees who overran Italy.

Syrian refugees overran France and Germany.

All in all, there sure has been a lot of history made since the End of History in 1992.

The big date in 2001 was not 9/11 but 12/11 when Bush 43 allowed Red China to enter the World Trade Organization. The result is Red China racked up trillions in trade surpluses that have funded its military and its expansion of influence worldwide.

This latest war may bring an end to the New World Order and the globalism that it brought with it. To be sure, Ukraine is the doing of Vlad Putin and Vlad Putin alone. Ukraine is defending itself and apparently defending itself well.

But just like the supply chain backlog (which we haven't heard much about recently) and the unleashing of covid worldwide, Ukraine shows the downside of globalism because it comes with shortages, disease and now, war.

The Washington Post reported, "Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the financial reckoning imposed on Moscow in response are proof that the triumphant globalization campaign that began more than 30 years ago has reached a dead end.

"Fallout from the fighting in Ukraine will take a meaningful bite out of the global economic recovery this year, with the greatest impact in Europe, economists said. A spike in oil prices to more than $110 per barrel and renewed supply chain disruptions -- including fresh headaches for the auto industry -- also are likely to aggravate U.S. inflation, already at a 40-year high."

(The prices hiked to $130 a barrel within hours of this report.)

The story continued, "But the war's long-term consequences could be more profound. Even before Russian President Vladimir Putin sent tanks and missiles hurtling toward Ukraine, years of deteriorating U.S.-China relations and failed global trade talks had stalled the tighter integration of finance and trade flows that had been anticipated during globalization's heyday.

"What comes next is unlikely to mirror the Cold War's distinct blocs. Even as the global economic order fractures, no rival ideologies compete for supremacy. And China's harsh authoritarian turn under President Xi Jinping co-exists with extensive commercial ties to the United States, Europe and Japan. But governments, corporations and investors all are adjusting to a new reality."

Globalism -- which President Trump opposes -- has connected the world. All it takes now is one little conflict to send the world into gridlock.

DTN reported. "A global fertilizer market that has already seen many challenges in the past 18 months will see added pressure from the Russia-Ukraine military conflict, according to The Fertilizer Institute (TFI). However, the exact magnitude is unknown for now."

Globalism has put Vlad Putin in charge of our food.

DTN reported, "Russia is the second-largest producer of ammonia, urea and potash and the fifth-largest producer of processed phosphates. The country accounts for 23% of the global ammonia export market, 14% of urea, 21% for potash and 10% of the processed phosphates."

You can put up windmills and pretend you are going to replace oil. But when it comes to food, you need fertilizer to feed 7 billion people.

And not the kind of fertilizer our politicians spread.

Our economy is at the mercy of autocrats. The flag Pelosi and the rest of Washington should wave is the white flag of surrender.

Re: Fertilizer.

That's *another* consequence of the sniffy war against domestic hydrocarbons; natural gas is a major feedstock for making fertilizer. By making domestic natural gas scarcer and more expensive... guess what else becomes scarcer and more expensive?

Notice that there is a surprisingly-singular "root cause" behind so much of the "sudden, unexpected" trouble that's breaking out all over the place?

It's too late if you're stocking up now. You know the old saying "buy low sell high"? Well right now you'd be buying at the high and soon to get higher. How much to buy? How much to hold on to? How much to hope you have enough to last till sanity reigns again?

Probably not enough.

As per the earlier comments, what's really disgusting is that these poseurs are just striking a pose and trying to hide that they made this mess; Ukraine and the Ukrainians are something they couldn't care less about, and they are being used as props.

By destroying free-world hydrocarbon production and curtailing arms supplies, they empowered thug putin to do this. They created this monster - and now they are playing this game as a distraction to try to cover up their own culpability in causing it. Don't let them get away with it - you can hate them and still support Ukraine (as PDJT does on both counts).

"Wag the Dog" was about a distraction that had nothing to do with what was being covered-up. This one is about trying to cover up the mess they made by their loudly braying that they are opposed to the mess they actually made.

Ukraine and Ukrainians continue to be abused by both our own corrupt elite *and* putin; heck, they're also being abused by their own sniffy-supported oligarchs as well!

Back in c. 2005, Viktor Yushchenko, in an interview, listed all the times in the prior 100-or-so years that Ukraine tried to declare independence without success - usually Ukraine just got run over by other competing parties and wrecked in the process; sadly, the Hitler-Stalin competition there was just one of many.

One of the more awful things I ever came across in Ukraine is a cemetery in L'viv where many of the burials are of young Ukrainian men who died trying to prevent the takeover of L'viv in 1920 - by Poland. Much of the fighting in the Polish-Soviet War (which was, thankfully, won by Poland via the "Miracle on the Vistula) was in Ukrainian territory, and the Ukrainians just got plowed under again.

One of the great achievements of the post-soviet era is that Poland and Ukraine have actually been able to make peace with each other.

Interesting question that has become germane again - who lost Russia?

Back in the day, we regarded Russia as a captive country. During the August 1991 coup attempt, a lot of ordinary Muscovites came out to block the coup, and in December Russia seemed to have been liberated and the old CCCP flag was replaced over the Kremlin with the old Russian flag.

What the heck happened?

Complicated, but the clinton crew has to take a lot blame for being handed a golden moment and botching it. The soviet line (which should sound familiar domestically these days) was that socialism was humane, while "capitalism" was rapacious and was all about seizing power and then using that to get rich at the expense of the workers and peasants.

The clintons were right out of soviet propaganda central casting - they talked about "democracy," but to them that just meant "Y'all get to elect fine people like us to power, after which we do whatever we want." Like rob the workers and peasants.

We had a great brand (USA!!) and the Clintons trashed it because they didn't actually believe in it. They could have educated Russia to a non-tsarist future, but they didn't believe in our system.

Just amazing...

Back in the "good old days", you could go to jail for desecrating the American flag. But the flag is desecrated by having most any member of Congress touch it, like San Fran Nan, AOC, Swallowwell, etc. but I digress.
Whoever designed and executed that horrible rag ought to be forced to go crawl on their hands and knees past every gravestone and marker in Arlington Cemetery as partial penance for their sin. The genius behind the photo op should have to do their laundry and CNN and MSNBC should be required to broadcast the whole process.
Enough is enough!

"the fighting in Ukraine will take a meaningful bite out of the global economic recovery this year"

Yet another lie from Fake News. The economy was destroyed by their Covid response with the lockdowns and firing everyone who wouldn't get an injection while printing out money like there's no tomorrow.

The Ukraine Debacle is a convenient excuse to blame lots of things on and to sweep other things under the carpet. Bottom line is Build Back Better/Climate Change/The Great Reset are all designed to destroy our economy and leave us with nothing except a chance to join the Globalists financial system if we agree to give up all our freedoms.

It's indeed an excuse for their messing everything up - and as seems to keep happening, Ukraine and Ukrainians end up getting plowed under as a result.

The real divide right now is honest people against corrupt elites. Hey, how about "Workers of the world, unite!"

And BTW, by summer they'll have a BRAND SHINY NEW excuse for why it's all going wrong; reminds me of the year-after-year of "bad weather" causing poor harvests in the CCCP...

All these folks that are pushing the one world, globalist, kumbaya of the future are also being told that the plan will bring everything to equilibrium and all the big players now will be rewarded and will be even bigger and safer from any hoi polloi revolts or shortages.
But is that true? Yeah a lot of them have money but how safe is that money? How safe are they? I think they're in worse shape than we are in some ways because they won't expect it and aren't prepared for it to hit them.

Before Ukraine agriculture inputs, not including seed, were already up over 100% from a year ago.

JasonMarch 7, 2022 at 7:46 PM
Maybe we could save fertilizer by stopping the practice of growing corn for ethanol

Douglas DCMarch 7, 2022 at 7:56 PM
That would lower the price of Gasoline, can't have that- "buy an Electric car"- Pete "What , me worry.?" Butthead, Sec. of transportation.

jakee308March 7, 2022 at 8:15 PM

We aren't the only ones who've been sold a bill of goods.
