Default What is your Paternal Ancestry?

This is obviously for people who've taken a DNA test. Might take me a few minutes to add the poll.

Correct me if I'm wrong> R1b is Germanic, not I2b. Celts have notably higher R1b in some regions., Wales for instance. G for (Alpine) is an interesting match.

I don't think we have any Eskimo-Nazis, lol.

Like the list.

The highest concentration of R1B is in Ireland, Celtic seemed like the least offensive correct label.

I2b has a large cluster in central Germany. It's not dominant enough to truly be called Germanic, but I didn't want to use a more specific term that would leave most people puzzled.

I looked into this and you might find some in Russia though they'd probably be upset getting labeled as Eskimos and would stress their proto-Aryan lineage.

I shudder to ask, but how the hell does one go about getting paternal DNA from both sides.

Move to San Francisco?

I threw dear old Ma's lineage in as a two-fer. Celts are a generous lot.

I had my DNA tested recently and found that my paternal DNA is found in its highest concentration in Ireland. Mitochondrial DNA, as expected, was MUCH more widely diffused.

This pattern has been described by James Bowery and followed up by Craig Cobb as indicating that open border policies are inherently anti-male in nature.

Dutch. I am assuming R1B because that's the most common Y-DNA marker in European descended people by a long shot (and also, surprisingly, in Holland - I was expecting R1A or I1 to be, but apparently no) but I haven't had a DNA test. Don't need it. My father was the first of our family to be born outside of Holland.

(And look at Akins, say - he might need a DNA test to wave around; it doesn't mean he's not a degenerate piece of trash.)

R1B is more prevalent south of the Rhine. The north of Holland is a mix of I1, R1A, and R1B.

You really can't just guess at it here and it defeats the purpose of the poll. Even in Norway only 31% of the males is I1.

That's irrelevant to your Y chromosome.

I messed up with this poll as many people appear to answer based on their self-perception rather than factual reality. Then again that's interesting in itself.

I2A is not strictly Yugoslavian, it is the highest haplogroup in Romania with a high concentration in the historical Moldavian kingdom.

I think it's a Thracian haplogroup.

I see one Romanian study where the sample size was 50 people. That's not representative. It may be another 10 years before there is good statistical evidence.

https://lesacreduprintemps19.files.w...haprinderm.pdf

There are indications that haplogroup correlates with IQ, with the I haplogroups giving the strongest correlation, the R (and related) haplogroups a medium correlation, and everything else giving a negative correlation.

More specific research is unlikely to materialize.

You're missing a lot of haplogroups.

Paternally I'm R1a1a

And R1a isn't strictly Baltic, it's spread all throughout Europe and is prominent in Scandinavia, even to Northern Italy.

For example, my father is Venetian, and there's absolutely no Baltic/Slav DNA in Italy - the R1a1a came from the Normans or German invaders.

R1b isn't strictly celtic. Some scientists think that a lot of british r1b comes from the north of Spain and probably basque. However I admit that celts probably had a lot too.
