Accumulator bets are known as mugs' bets for a very good reason. Each football game is priced at an overround favouring the bookie, typically adding up to 109%. So a 7-team accumulator at 109% overround per game will return less than 60% over the longterm according to my calculator. That's why bookies heavily advertise accumulators. They are for clueless mugs and a surefire way to the poorhouse. Smart punters spot value bets and wager them as singles only.

Why the fuck do you wanna lead this treacherous cunt out of stupidville?

If he had his way he'd have you strung up like the antebellum Coon caught in his shack with a little white girl spinning on the end of his dick.

Well put them on as singles then.

The bookies can't control what happens on the pitch and those who have been following premiership football would know the above mentioned teams are likely to come in. Though it's a funny old game and anything could happen. Upsets are quite regular, which is why I said its only worthy of £1. If it doesn't win it won't break the bank, but if they do, happy days, you are seeing a return in the region of £170. How much would the return be if you divided the £1 stake over 7 singles and they all come in?

problem is your not dealing with sportsmen those seeking only the financial dimension from a wager should stick to the betting exchange where in the course of a year and a six figure war chest a >10% annual return is possible.I know someone who lives from this and solely uses arithmetic and has no interest in the sports concerned but in the over round of the book.
Accumulators are good on the exchanges I got a handsome sum on a losing treble by laying off the final leg. That said the exchanges do not do each way accumulators still I find that I can lay off my shop each way accumulator bets on the exchange.

Just tried it on the Ladbrokes website. A £1 accumulator would pay out £177.13.

To put the 7 games on as singles with £1, which would mean a 14p stake on each game, would pay out £2.18 if they all came in. If you put £1 on each of these games, bringing your total stake up to £7, the payout would be £15.61

I don't understand why one vnnuser thinks you will benefit from backing these teams as singles.

I would have
£10 win treble
Arsenal win
Tottenham win
Man City win
But I only ever back Palace - Bournemouth - Millwall in a win trixie Good return so far and likely to get better as the season progresses

How sweet. Our pair of Searchlight fuckwits arrive in tandem.

If this faux Mick knew anything about Legging he'd know traditional (on-course) bookmakers have always looked for a >10% profit on each race about the card. Typically 12%. The advent of tax free betting (especially on the exchanges) has allowed the astute punter to seek a profit at par with that of the bookmaker.

Gerry may be astute but the two fuckwits are losers.

I've just had the misfortune to visit this thread whilst not logged in and have seen that the internet troll that is Antifascist Henry, the person who likes to link online Nationalist personas with their real, physical identities is ever so bravely calling myself and Andy "Searchlight Fuckwits".

Someone give me a nudge if he's ever feeling brave enough to come and say this to my face. He soiled himself last time I invited him.

Who said any of your football selections were worth backing at the odds advertised? First of all, if you want to profit from betting you must find value. If a bet has an evens chance of winning and the bookie is offering 6-4 odds that is a value bet because it will return 140% over the long term. However, if the bookie is offering 6-4 on for an evens chance then that is a mug's bet because the odds are in the bookies' favour.

For an accumulator bet to be profitable all the selections must be value bets, whose odds are priced in your favour and not the bookies. Unfortunately for the punter, because of the overround, the bookie rarely gets it wrong. That's why accumulator bets are for mugs. Not that you will understand this because I know you have difficulty grasping abstract points.

That 7 selection accumulator will return 65% in the long term, based on an average of 109% overround per selection.
