Billionaire Elon Musk responded to a call by Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) for the wealthy to pay their “fair share” by claiming to forget the 80-year-old democratic socialist was alive.

“We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period,” Sanders tweeted on Saturday, to which Musk replied, “I keep forgetting you’re still alive.”

He followed up by floating the idea of selling Tesla stock. Musk previously sold billions in shares after putting out a poll asking if he should sell 10% of his holdings, to which over 50% of people said yes.

The Bush administration, you’ll recall, was running a regime change operation at that point which gave covert support to Jundullah, a terrorist group responsible for murdering scores of Iranian civilians. Bush was also canoodling with the Mujahideen-e-Khalq, a weirdo cult group once designated as a terrorist organization (a label lifted by Hillary Clinton’s State Department after a well-oiled public relations campaign).

Sanders fulsomely supported the Kosovo war: when shocked antiwar activists visited his Senate office in Burlington, Vermont, he called the cops on them. At a Montpelier public meeting featuring a debate on the war, Bernie argued passionately in favor of Bill Clinton’s “humanitarian” intervention, and pointedly told hecklers to leave if they didn’t like what he had to say.

As a Senator, his votes on civil liberties issues show a distinct pattern. While he voted against the Patriot Act, in 2006 he voted in favor of making fourteen provisions of the Act permanent, including those that codified the FBI’s authority to seize business records and carry out roving wiretaps. Sanders voted no on the legislation establishing the Department of Homeland Security, but by the time he was in the Senate he was regularly voting for that agency’s ever-expanding budget.

CNBC reports that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has once again sold a large portion of shares in the company. According to financial filings with the SEC published late Thursday, Musk sold 934,091 shares of Tesla stock worth $963.2 million.

Major taxi company suspends all Tesla Model 3s over ‘serious accident’

Leading Paris taxi company G7 has announced it is suspending the use of Tesla Model 3 cars from its fleet following an accident that left over a dozen people injured in the French capital.

The suspension will only affect 37 taxi drivers in the company’s fleet, but will continue until a police investigation into last week’s crash concludes.

G7 deputy chief executive Yann Ricordel told Reuters the accident happened while a driver was off duty on Saturday evening. The taxi reportedly began aggressively accelerating and went out of control, injuring multiple pedestrians and causing damage in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

Approximately 20 people were hurt in the incident, seven of them sustaining what were described as “serious injuries.” It is currently unknown whether it was a driver or car error that caused the crash.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and South African-born billionaire Elon Musk could have a long-awaited meeting if the world's richest man steps up and develops business interests in the country, the Kremlin has indicated.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that the president has always been interested in meeting with foreigners who are keen to invest in Russia, adding that this could include Musk.

“Without a doubt, the president is open to discussions with foreign businessmen,” Peskov explained. “There are regular discussions, practically every year, with French entrepreneurs, Germans, those with a large presence in our market. You and I know that Elon Musk isn’t in our market, but we hope that with time, he will become interested in it. And then, a meeting with the president isn’t out of the question.”

Tesla pauses crash-risky gaming feature amid probe


The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has said Tesla will stop allowing games to be played in moving vehicles, following the announcement of an investigation by the auto safety agency.



The auto safety regulator announced this week that they were investigating a feature in Tesla cars that allows drivers to play games on a touchscreen pad while the car is in motion.

The video game investigation covers more than 500,000 vehicles, Models 3,S,X, and Y. Games such as solitaire can be played on a touch screen, including in every Tesla vehicle, a feature that was highlighted in a New York Times report earlier this month.

Elon Musk has rejected complaints that SpaceX Starlink satellites are taking up too much room in Earth’s orbit. Separately, Musk is under fire from Beijing for two near-misses between these satellites and China’s space station.

“Space is just extremely enormous, and satellites are very tiny,” Musk told the Financial Times in an interview published on Wednesday. “This is not some situation where we’re effectively blocking others in any way. We’ve not blocked anyone from doing anything, nor do we expect to.”

Heading into 2022, the 10 wealthiest individuals in the world are all worth more than $100 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Some of these individuals, like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, have been worth $100 billion for some time: Gates first reached the mark in 1999, while Bezos did it in 2017. But most of the others are newcomers to the 12-digit club.

Combined, the 10 richest billionaires added $402.17 billion to their net worths in 2021. They were led by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who this year became the world’s richest man and briefly saw his net worth top $300 billion. He added $121 billion to his net worth in 2021 — just shy of the $140 billion he added in 2020.

As 2021 winds to a close, here’s how much the 10 richest people in the world added to their fortunes, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. (All numbers were accurate as of the end of trading on Dec. 29.)

Tesla ripped for opening Xinjiang store despite human rights abuses

Elon Musk’s Tesla has been accused of supporting genocide after reports surfaced that the electric carmaker opened a showroom in China’s Xinjiang province.

The backlash came shortly after Tesla announced the store opening in a Dec. 31 blog post on Weibo, China’s Twitter-like social media platform.

The store is located in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang province, where Chinese authorities have targeted Uyghur Muslims and other religious minority groups in a crackdown the US government has labeled a genocide.

Scott Paul, president of the Alliance for American Manufacturing, said Tesla’s decision was “especially despicable.”

“I’ll be blunt: Any company doing business in Xinjiang is complicit in the cultural genocide taking place there,” Paul said.

A video has surfaced on social media showing Tesla vehicles stuck in a traffic jam inside Elon Musk’s Las Vegas tunnel, which was built to alleviate the city’s above-ground traffic problems.

The footage, taken from inside a Tesla vehicle, shows clogged traffic in the narrow underground single-lane tunnel. Built by the Boring Company, the ‘Loop’ tunnel runs from the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall to the South Hall and back.
