I've met him.
He's a cool guy. He's one of the few celebrities I've met whom I don't want to grease.

I didn't like him in his '80s heyday: thought he was a punk tuffguy poser with that curled lip - but now I think he's great.

My power bill goes up by $100 in the winter. And that's even after I turn the heat down to 64 while I'm up, and 58 while I'm sleeping.

I'm not looking forward to another blistering hot summer, myself. Too much noise, commotion, and might be dealing with more fires again.

Spring So Close
It's cloudy and depressing here in St. Louis, as it was last year...just overcast for months at a time, reminded me when I was in Germany. I'm pretty satisfied, though, but hated getting a lousy three-week cold from a co-worker. I didn't need her sucking, stinking cold.
Also, to borrow from another thread by Alex, it seems like all winter/spring holidays do with booze. Happy New Years, Maaan! Happy mardi gras, Maaan! Happy Saint Paddy's Day, Maaan! Happy Cinque de Mayo, Maaan! Maybe I was more depressed last year because I worked on a site with a lot of niggers...kind of dull, and one guy always listened to NPR, and I had to get out of the office all the time to escape listening to the black stuff, and all those Jews on NPR with their talk-talk-talk in the same damned voice. it's an irritating, sniveling voice, a kind of academic monotone. I remember my grandparents telling me when they were young, a lot of people were really physically worn out by winter's end because there weren't that many fresh fruits and vegetables around. This was in southeast Missouri, in farming and mining country. I remember Christmas, when it was a big deal to get oranges. |
