I agree with him on special effects. Some of the computerized effects look phonier than anything in an old black and white movie.

special effects should only be employed if they enhance the story such as making a crowd scene come to life. I hate movies where FX is the star of the show.

speaking of which, has anyone seen the movie 2012? that was 158 minutes of my life that I'll never get back.

The biggest change is, to me, the switch to PC propaganda. The most obvious is the insistence of adding the ass kicking/hard ass female in every movie.

Default The darkining of white characters

On one hand, they now have all this incredible tech, that creates CGI in films. On the other,it's all negated, by their replacing the roles for long established characters, with blacks.Perry White, now black, Nick Fury, now black,Johnny Storm, black, electro, black. And if not black, now female if male, like Jimmy olsens sex change. The next thing,is going to be stright characters being turned queer for ther films

Omg, Thats what I was about to post.

As if real women, in real life can kick and throw punches like they do in movies. the majority of women tend to stand back from conflict or they're victims of conflicts and crimes, not the heroes.

Yes, I'm sexist and anti-feminist, not anti female.

"Everybody wants to recapture the glory days of 80s movies these days. Everywhere you look, they're remaking 80s classics or paying homage to the motifs of the Reagan era. But there's still something about the 80s that remains unique and special. Here are 10 things movies were good at in the 80s that they struggle at today."

WTF? The 80s were far from a Golden Age in cinema.

Movies generally are worse today than they were in the 80s, but the post Jaws and Star Wars "blockbuster" era of cinema glorified in that piece hardly produced any movies worthy of being taken seriously.

The blockbusters were an improvement on the Jewish propaganda films they replaced, at least morally and aesthetically. There was a time when Dustin Hoffman, Donald Sutherland and Eliott Gould were three of the biggest boxoffice stars. I'd rather watch Jaws than Marathon Man.

Of course Jaws is also a Jewish propaganda film, but in a much more understated way. It's implicit propaganda so you can ignore it and enjoy the basically traditional white adventure story about slaying the dragon.

The dumber the audience, the less interest in character and conversation; the greater the interest in car chases and explosions - stuff the semi- or preliterate nigger-mexican can understand.

Starting with Jaws in 1975 movies have become part of a much larger marketing machine, one that can gross more by selling toys than the movie makes at the boxoffice. Jaws wasn't the most merchandisable property, so it still made most of its money in theatres, but two years later Star Wars showed Hollywood the full monty. Huge in theatres and even huger in toy stores Star Wars changed Hollywood forever. Before Star Wars only Walt Disney had seen the potential of integrated marketing and building a quality franchise. Hollywood Jews saw franchises as something you cashed in on fast and cheap, with each sequel having a lower budget until the property was ruined.

But the development of the Jaws and Star Wars franchises showed there was a better way. They used the old methods with Jaws and wrecked it in just two films, killing it off with the awful Jaws 3D. Independent George Lucas wouldn't let them do it to his baby, he kept the sequel rights and spent more on each one than the last, raising the bar and creating a merchandising gold mine that's paying off to this day, so much so he was able to sell the privately held company to Disney for $4 billion a few years ago.

Hollywood took notice, and ever since almost every summer they've been trying to make the next Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. Often with Spielberg producing or directing.

It's a winner take all approach. Bet $200 million hoping to hit the billion dollar jackpot. It usually doesn't work (Battleship, Pacific Rim), but when it does (Back to the Future, Jurassic Park) the studio can coast on the windfall for years. Lucas is a case in point. Nothing he did after Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark made much money, but even today toy stores are well stocked with Darth Vader and Han Solo action figures.

Lucas was smart, but only the original SW was worth a damn, the rest were so stilted as to be unbearable.

Now they just make franchises out of comic-book shit, I'm sure it is more profitable. It really is amazing that movies that to me are nothing or just thin repetitive stuff make so much money: Spring Breakers is a good recent example, as is the horror movie Farmiga was in, sort of an updated Amityville Horror. Just not good. Yet these pictures bring in tens or hundreds of millions of dollars.

Spring Breakers (haven't seen it) can't be less original than Transformers or Captain America. The comic books and TV remakes/reboots offer Hollywood ready made, audience tested concepts that they can remix, shuffle, twist and repackage.

Sometimes they go too far twisting the concept and it bombs. Green Hornet and Land of the Lost are recent examples, though you could attribute their failure to the weakness of the source material, Green Hornet isn't Batman and Land of the Lost isn't Star Trek.

But some of these old franchises, Batman and Star Trek for example, have proven highly resilient, able to survive being twisted to the point of ridicule in Batman's case, and be revived with a reboot after some pretty weak movies and series in Star Trek's case.

Transformers, with its nostalgic audience with fond memories of the cartoon and toys of their youth, or Batman, with worldwide name recognition and a killer concept, both start with a leg up. People are interested in seeing these movies. A character study of an out of work steel worker, not so much. Or even a PC propaganda piece about slavery.

So there's an upside and a downside. The downside is you get fewer original, compelling films out of Hollywood. The upside is most of the big hits aren't straight up Jew propaganda like To Kill a Mockingbird or Schindler's List.
