‘Russian submarine’ hit British warship – UK MOD

The moment a UK warship’s underwater sonar was allegedly hit is said to have been caught on camera

A towed sonar array of the Royal Navy’s HMS Northumberland was hit by a Russian submarine 13 months ago, the UK Ministry of Defence has claimed, after British media reported the incident was captured by a documentary film crew.

“In late 2020, a Russian submarine being tracked by HMS Northumberland came into contact with her towed array sonar,” a Ministry of Defence spokesman alleged, in a rare comment on UK Navy operations. The collision reportedly damaged the sonar – a large tube filled with sensitive equipment that the ship was towing underwater hundreds of meters behind it.

US Senate votes against Nord Stream 2 sanctions

The Republican proposal to pre-emptively sanction Russia over the Nord Stream 2 pipeline ran into opposition

Democrats in the US Senate blocked the Republican proposal for sanctions against Russia over the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, saying it didn’t help Ukraine and denied President Joe Biden “leverage” to deal with the Kremlin.

Proposed by Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Senate bill 3436 would have given the White House two weeks to impose travel restrictions, asset freezes, and bans on doing business with US companies for those involved with the natural gas pipeline that runs from Russia to Germany.

Democrats countered that the sanctions would do nothing to stop the Russian “invasion” of Ukraine, which US intelligence and the Biden administration have claimed for weeks to be imminent. Moscow has rejected the claim as “fake news.”

Gazprom takes EU state to court

Russian energy giant seeks arbitration against Poland’s main gas retailer over contract price

Gazprom Export has applied for international arbitration in its dispute with PGNiG over an upward revision of a gas contract price, a demand the Polish state-owned gas monopoly has said it would fight in court.

“As business negotiations on the price revision in line with above requests did not lead to agreements, we referred the dispute to arbitration, in full compliance with the contract terms,” Gazprom Export said in a statement.

According to the Russian company, the claim is aimed at revising the price terms of a 1996 contract with PGNiG retrospectively. Gazprom Export noted that it had sent a request to PGNiG to revise the price of gas under the contract starting from November 2017, before making another request three years later.

Speaking as part of an interview with Interfax, published on Thursday, Valentina Kazakova said that the ministry “continues to work on improving the mechanisms of control over the stay of foreign nationals in Russia.”

The official said consideration is underway for revising the rules to introduce the possibility of deporting people that have perpetrated “grave administrative offenses, including violations on public order.”

‘We don’t give a s**t about sanctions’ – Russia

Russia’s ambassador in Sweden has called NATO’s expansion “the biggest threat” to Moscow

Russia’s ambassador to Sweden, did not mince his words when he delivered a strong rebuke to the West's coercive measures on Sunday.

“Excuse my language, but we don’t give a s**t about sanctions,” Viktor Tatarintsev told Stockholm daily Aftonbladet.

The US, Britain, and the EU have all threatened to impose new penalties on Russia if it invades Ukraine. Moscow, meanwhile, has denied any plans to attack its neighbor.

Russian opera stars Gergiev and Netrebko fired over Ukraine invasion

Artists have been removed from German arts organizations over Putin ties

Prominent Russian conductor Valery Gergiev and soprano legend Anna Netrebko were removed from their positions by German arts organizations on Tuesday in response to Moscow’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Gergiev, who had been serving as the chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic, was dismissed by the city’s mayor, Dieter Reiter, after he failed to meet a Monday deadline to denounce Russian President Vladimir Putin and the conflict.

The removal comes three years before his contract was set to expire and marks the latest setback for Gergiev, who has faced backlash over his silence on the war.

International brands scammed Russians – reports

Foreign shops have stolen billions from the country’s consumers, shoppers claim

Alexey Viryasov, RT

Thousands of Russians have lost the money they spent on gift cards after many foreign brands decided to stop serving the world’s largest nation in response to Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.

Major Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda (KP) published a report on Thursday claiming that the country’s consumers have lost billions of rubles after many foreign brands left the national market without reimbursing them for gift cards that were previously issued.

Among the foreign companies that have decided to close their shops in Russia are Sweden’s H&M, Spain’s Mango, Zara, and Bershka, as well as America’s Nike and Germany’s Adidas. None of these brands have said whether they’re going to reopen their stores.

Russia officially withdraws from Council of Europe

Moscow has blamed NATO countries for “breaking off the dialogue”

Russia has officially informed the Council of Europe of its withdrawal from the organization. As Deputy Speaker of the Russian Duma Pyotr Tolstoy announced on Tuesday, a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov has been handed over to the Secretary General of the organization.

“All responsibility for breaking off the dialogue with the Council of Europe lies with the NATO countries, which all this time have been using the topic of human rights for fulfilling their own geopolitical interests and for attacks on our country,” Tolstoy said.

Default Russia sanctions 13 Americans, including Joe and Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton

"Russia announced sanctions Tuesday against Americans including President Joe Biden, his scandal-scarred son Hunter Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In a statement, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said the restrictions — which came amid waves of sanctions by the US and its allies that have crippled Russia’s economy over the invasion of Ukraine — were “the consequence” of what it called the White House’s “extremely Russophobic policy.”

The move prevents those named from entering Russia and freeze any assets they have there, according to the BBC. Moscow called the restrictions “personal sanctions” and a “stop list” based on “the principle of reciprocity.”

The foreign ministry also warned that additional sanctions would follow against other, unspecified “Russophobic” US officials, military officers, lawmakers, business owners and media figures.

The measures — which target 13 Americans, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — won’t prevent them from engaging in high-level communications with Russia, the news agency said."

Kremlin comments on Zelensky and Putin direct meeting

The possible negotiations depend on the “modality” of the peace agreements, Moscow says

A direct meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, depends on the “modality” of the document they were to sign, a Kremlin official said on Friday.

Answering a journalist’s question on whether the document settling the conflict in Ukraine requires both presidents signing it in person or not, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it “depends on the modality of the document that is yet to be agreed upon,” as reported by the Russian news agency TASS.

Peskov also noted that the Russian side was ready to work much faster than it was at the moment, but the Ukrainian party was “unfortunately” showing no signs it might speed up the process. Despite these facts, the workflow was going on, the spokesman confirmed.

Default Russia formally warns US to stop arming Ukraine

Quote:
Russia sent a diplomatic note to the US this week, calling on Washington and NATO to stop arming Ukraine. The note, which was obtained by
The Washington Post, said the Western campaign to pour weapons into Ukraine was "adding fuel" to the conflict and could lead to "unpredictable consequences."

The diplomatic note was sent Tuesday, when news broke of a new massive US military aid package for Ukraine. President Biden announced the new aid on Wednesday, which is worth $800 million and includes howitzers for the first time. The package also includes helicopters, armed Switchblade drones, coastal defense drones, armored vehicles, radar systems, and thousands of Stinger and Javelin missiles.

The Russian note was sent to the State Department by the Russian Embassy in Washington. It said the US and its NATO allies were ignoring "rigorous principles" on the transfer of weapons into the conflict zone and siad the Western powers are oblivious to "the threat of high-precision weapons falling into the hands of radical nationalists, extremists and bandit forces in Ukraine."

The Russians accused NATO of pressuring Ukraine to "abandon" peace talks with Moscow "in order to continue the bloodshed." The US and its NATO allies have shown little interest in supporting the negotiations between the warring sides. The Western powers are signaling that they don't want Kyiv to make any concessions to Moscow.

Foreign student arrested in Russia on 'Nazism' charges for twerking at war memorial

April 20, 2022

A female student has been arrested in Russia for allegedly "rehabilitating Nazism" by twerking in front of a war memorial.

The 21-year-old -- identified by local media as Zambian national Rebecca Ziba -- was detained after she posted a video of herself on Instagram.

In the footage -- posted alongside a joking caption -- she can be seen dancing next to a World War II memorial in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Russian investigators have described her actions as "obscene" and "insulting" and have charged her under Part 4 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code, which accuses a person of "rehabilitating nazism".

The regional Investigative Committee said in a statement that the video of Ziba dancing had been posted on social media "accompanied by an offensive inscription".

Russian Court Fines Google $137,600 For Distributing Prohibited YouTube Videos

21st April, 2022

Moscow's Tagansky District Court fined Google 4 million rubles ($49,900) for distributing YouTube videos containing false information about the events in Ukraine and 7 million rubles ($87,700) for videos containing calls for terrorist attacks and sabotage in Russia, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Thursday.

"The court found Google guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses," judge Timur Vakhrameev said in his verdict, adding that "a penalty in the form of a fine of 4 million rubles was imposed."

Google was found guilty of distributing YouTube videos containing fake information about losses of the Russian armed forces and civilian casualties during Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.

In a separate offense under the same article of the Administrative Code, Google was fined 7 million rubles for YouTube videos containing calls for terrorist attacks and sabotage in Russia.

"To find Google guilty of committing an administrative offense under Part 4 of Article 13.41 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses, to impose a fine of 7 million rubles," the judge said.

The controversial YouTube videos that sparked the proceedings in Russia were released by extremist and recognized neo-Nazi Ukrainian groups, including the Right Sector (banned in Russia as extremist) and the Azov battalion (under criminal investigation in Russia).

On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine with the purpose of "demilitarization and denazification" of the country after the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk appealed for help in defending themselves against Ukrainian forces.

Russia to pay foreign debt in rubles

The announcement comes after the US blocked payments to American bondholders

Moscow plans to make foreign debt payments in rubles, Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on Wednesday. This comes after the US blocked Russia from servicing its debt to American bondholders.

Volodin added that the country has all the necessary monetary resources for payments.

“The US and the satellites supporting Washington’s decisions should get used to the ruble,” Volodin said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, citing Russia’s experience requiring ruble payments for gas shipments as an example of how settlements could work.

Russia’s finance ministry also confirmed in a statement that Moscow will continue to fulfill its state debt obligations, despite the tightening of external restrictions.

Russia assesses results of recovery from sanctions

The collapse of the Russian economy, as predicted in the West, failed to materialize, Putin points out

Western forecasts about the collapse of the Russian economy as a result of sanctions that were issued in early spring have not come to pass, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.

Speaking at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin said predictions about the collapse of the ruble and the Russian economy were part of an information war against Moscow, aimed at “psychologically destabilizing Russian society and domestic business circles.”

Putin praised the government for its work to stabilize the economy in a professional manner.

EU asks citizens to ‘be patient’ as anti-Russian sanctions bite

Josep Borrell says the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions will crush Moscow any minute now

EU foreign policy head Josep Borrell has called on Europeans to show “strategic patience” while months worth of supposedly devastating sanctions against Russia take effect.

“The sanctions imposed by the EU and like-minded partners are already hitting Vladimir Putin and his associates hard,” Borrell declared in a blog post on Sunday, insisting “their impact on the Russian economy will only increase.”

“We need strategic patience until Russia stops its aggression and Ukraine is able to regain its full sovereignty,” he added.

This is not about "hurting Russia", they know exactly that they can not hurt Russia. It's about purposeful and sinister plan to destroy Europe, first step is to make famine and then to offer a solution for the hungry European masses that if they want to eat, then they should join the army and go on the zero line against Russia. A brilliant hooknosed plan to destroy White Europe once and for all.
