Diplomat gagged over Kosovo organ sale claim

Quote:
Switzerland has gagged one its Ambassadors from promoting a controversial new book about war crimes in the former Yugoslavia. Carla Del Ponte, who prosecuted crimes at The Hague, claims some current Kosovo leaders once sold vital organs from Serb prisoners.

Switzerland says Del Ponte role as Ambassador to Argentina will not complement any promotion campaign.
The book, "The Hunt: Me and War Criminals", was due to be launched in Milan.
It details atrocities committed by Albanians against Kosovo Serbs in the late 1990s and says that some of those currently in power in Kosovo made money selling Serb organs.

ZOG wants to sweep this one under the rug

Quote:
"Carla del Ponte's book on her work as chief prosecutor of the Hague tribunal contains statements which are impermissible for a representative of the government of Switzerland," said department spokesman, Jean-Philippe Jeannerat.

"Any public presentation of this work is incompatible with the author's status of Swiss ambassador," the department said in a statement.

"We thank her [Del Ponte] for a rapid return to Argentina," the statement added.,,
Swiss and Serbian commentators said Del Ponte's disclosures were embarrassing to the Berne government, because Switzerland was among the first countries that recognised Kosovo independence in February and opened an embassy in Pristina last week.

The Kosovo Liberation Army's veteran leader, Hashim Thaci, now Kosovo's prime minister, in the mid-1990s spent time in Switzerland, a centre for radical Albanian emigre circles, where he mysteriously acquired funds for the KLA.

Kosovo Albanian "police" target Serbs for arrest

NEBI QENA
April 16, 2008 9:30 AM

PRISTINA, Kosovo-Twenty-one Serbs are suspected of involvement in riots targeting local and international authorities that occurred after Kosovo declared independence on Feb. 17, police said Wednesday.

Police also said some of the suspects are senior Kosovo Serb leaders.

Evidence has been given to an international prosecutor who could file charges, including terrorism and violation of Kosovo's constitutional order, said Veton Elshani, the spokesman for Kosovo's police.

He said none of the suspects will be identified unless official charges are filed against them, and that the ongoing investigation could turn up more suspects.

Since Kosovo declared independence from Serbia, many countries, including the U.S. and most EU states, have recognized the new nation, where 90 percent of the 2 million people are ethnic Albanians. But Serbia, which considers Kosovo the historic cradle of its nation, has rejected the move as illegal under international law.

Angered by the declaration, more than 1,000 Kosovo Serbs marched to the Jarinje checkpoint about 18 miles (29 kilometers) north of the ethnically tense town of Mitrovica, vandalizing and setting fire to passport control booths. Groups of Serbs also destroyed a border checkpoint in the nearby village of Brnja.

NATO peacekeepers are now in charge of guarding the outposts, but police and customs officials have not returned to them.

Kosovo's north, where most of the Serb minority lives, remains a tense area, and on March 17 clashes between Serbs and international forces left one Ukrainian policeman dead and more than 60 U.N. and NATO forces and 70 Kosovo Serb protesters injured.

Since then the U.N. mission in Kosovo has struggled to return its staff to Kosovo's north. About 40 U.N. police officers resumed their duties alongside 80 members of the local police force in Mitrovica after NATO peacekeepers took control of the town.

But European Union officials are yet to deploy in Kosovo's north. Serb leaders in Kosovo have said they plan to obstruct the work of the EU-led mission.

The EU plans to deploy a police and justice mission in Kosovo and will oversee the work of Kosovo authorities under an international deal that paved the way for Kosovo to declare independence.

The jews are hoping that they will be able to westernize these muslims rats and turn them into jew lovers just as they have done with whites. Their goal is to mix this sub human filth with whites which will create a mongrelized bastard mass of hedonistic consumers which the Jews feel they will be able to control and lead. Lets hope that the most radical elements within Islam prevail and that they never 'integrate'. We Europeans need to kick both the jews and muslims out of our living space but we must fully support the muslim attacks on the Zionist entity and on America/Britain even if it means the death of lemming civilians.

UNMIK will not allow Kosovo Serbs to vote on May 11th

Samardzic’s letter to Ruecker

Quote:
Letter by Serbian Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic to UNMIK chief Joachim Ruecker.
Thursday, April 17, 2008
...(3) Your position that you could organise the elections (in five said municipalities) only after 11 May 2008 stems from the difficulties I elaborated in points (1) and (2). Therefore in this moment only Serbia and Serbian local authorities in the Province can successfully organise and conduct the elections on 11 May. In this purpose, Serbia promulgated the whole set of required regulation and in accordance with it prepares the electoral process. You as the SRSG would only need to call for the elections. In this way, Serbia respects the mandate of UNMIK and of you personally.

Dear Special Representative,
The worst breach of Resolution 1244 happened on 17 February this year.

In an environment in which the political leadership of Kosovo Albanians entirely violates this binding UN document, and you fail to find neither the strength nor the means to stop this violation, it is only through co-operation with Serbia that you can preserve the dignity of UNMIK, and thus uphold the peace and hope for Serbs in the Province. In this context, the upcoming elections can play a key positive role, just as their postponing or cancellation may have grave negative consequences. Therefore, these elections have a great significance for the Province's Serbs and are the issue of utmost political importance.

Let me remind you that-in regard of illegal proclamation of independence and subsequent events-you took, as you phrased it on several occasions, "a neutral political position". It would have been of great usefulness if you would have also chosen to take such a stance of political neutrality regarding the elections for the Serbian local authorities in the Province. This would need to be the case, especially because of your almost unsolvable legal and political difficulties to organise these elections.

In expectance of your positive response to my request from the letter of 4 April 2008,

U.S. opposes Kosovo Serb vote in local poll

By Louis Charbonneau
Mon Apr 21, 7:30 PM ET

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - Serbia's president said on Monday that Serbs in the new state of Kosovo should participate in local Serbian elections next month, but Britain and the United States said this would be unwise and illegal.

Serbia, which says it will never recognize Kosovo's February 17 declaration of independence from Belgrade, will hold local and parliamentary elections on May 11.

The United Nations, which has administered Kosovo since 1999, says the participation of Kosovo Serbs in Serbia's local elections would violate U.N. rules and would not be valid.

But in the written text of remarks prepared for delivery at a Security Council briefing on Kosovo, Serbian President Boris Tadic said it was vital for Kosovo Serbs to be able to vote in the local elections. The population of Kosovo's north is predominantly Serbian.

"We believe it is important that everywhere in Kosovo, where (Serb) citizens recognize the Republic of Serbia as their state, they choose in a democratic way their own municipal, as well as parliamentary, representatives," Tadic said.

The U.N. mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) has indicated it did not object to Kosovo Serbs voting in the parliamentary election as they have done before, but Kosovo's ethnic Albanian leaders say local polls were a threat to the sovereignty of the new state.

Officially, UNMIK remains in control of Kosovo.

British Ambassador to the United Nations, John Sawers, told reporters the U.N. administrator of Kosovo, Joachim Ruecker of Germany, reported to the council that he opposed the holding of Serbian local elections in Kosovo.

"His judgment is that elections now, especially elections on an ethnic basis, would be divisive and unhelpful," Sawers said. "We look to Serbia to reverse its decision to try to hold these ethnically based elections inside Kosovo."

'PROVOCATION'

U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad told reporters the local elections would be "unhelpful" and "illegal."

"This is unacceptable," he told the council. "President Tadic -- efforts to conduct these municipal elections are a provocation, and I call on you not to proceed with them."

Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin sided with the Serbs, saying Serbian local elections should go ahead in Kosovo.

"We believe that the Serbs have every right to conduct their parliamentary and municipal elections when they see fit," he told reporters after the council meeting.

Russia has used its ability to veto U.N. Security Council action to prevent any resolution legitimizing Kosovo's independence or the EU role in the breakaway Serbian province.

Tadic said Kosovo Serbs did not trust authorities in Pristina, nor would they cooperate with a mission of European Union police and justice officials (EULEX) that plans to formally take over from the United Nations in June.

The European Union decided in February to deploy a 2,200-strong mission to help build Kosovo's institutions, intended to replace UNMIK, even though some EU member states -- similar to Serbia and Russia -- have not recognized Kosovo.

Khalilzad sharply criticized Tadic for urging Kosovo Serbs not to cooperate with the authorities in Pristina.

"We are also concerned by Belgrade's actions to pressure Kosovo Serbs from cooperating with authorities in Pristina or from interacting with their Albanian neighbors," he said. "Belgrade's position runs contrary to the principle of multi-ethnicity that the U.N. has sought to foster in Kosovo."

Kosovo's prime minister, Hashim Thaci, who fought in the 1998-1999 guerrilla war against Serbia, also addressed the closed-door session of the council.

Afterwards Thaci told reporters that holding local Serbian elections in Kosovo would be "illegitimate" and vowed to ensure that Kosovo's government would include Serbs and Albanians

Bernard Kouchner Involved In Albanian Organ Market

Milijana Mitrovic, who was close to the Albanian businessman and saw death camps, says organs were not taken from Serbs exclusively.

Milijana Mitrovic was one of Carla del Ponte`s sources for information on death camps in which organs were taken from people, the Kurir daily writes.

She claimed Albania is not only a Serbian “blue tomb”, but organs were taken from Romanians, Greeks, Montenegrins, Russians and Arabs as well.

The very Albanian political top was in on it, along with KFOR and UNMIK representatives.

Among other things, Mitrovic claimed that thanks to the fact she was close to an influential Albanian businessman, she had the opportunity to see the camps and find out a lot about the crimes. When she decided to speak out on organ trade in 2002, nobody would listen. She received threats and the police questioned and bullied her.

Organs taken from prostitutes

- The Albanians brought in prostitutes from various countries who entertained UNMIK and KFOR members and when they were no longer necessary, they were taken to Albania and their organs were removed. The camps were stationed in Kukes, Elbasan, Fljora and Drac, while “the yellow house”, where the organs were extracted, was in Tirana – Milijana told the Kurir paper.

Serbs taken to foreign army bases

She also said the healthiest of Serbian men up to the age of 45 were taken to army bases in Germany and Italy. She is not sure what exactly happened to them, but she says there are indications they served as guinea pigs.

- Whoever tried to escape would end up under a knife. Former and current Albanian prime ministers Sali Berisa and Fatos Nano were involved, with the blessing of Bernard Kouchner, French Foreign Affairs Minister and former UNMIK head. Other involved parties included Hashim Thaqi, Halim Omer Osmani and Ramus Haradini – Mitrovic counted.

She claimed that politicians, mostly of the Serbian opposition, tried to raise funds to find abducted Serbs in 2001 and 2002 and the money was handed over to a Kosovo Albanian through a CIA colonel. The Albanian was killed in the end.

Simo Spasic, president of the Abducted Kosmet Civilians, Soldiers and Police Officers` Association said Milijana Mitrovic told them her information several years back, but they could not believe her at the time.

EU, Serbia sign membership accord

April 29, 2008 2:00 PM

LUXEMBOURG, Apr 29, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX News Network) -- The European Union (EU) signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia on Tuesday which brought Serbia a step closer to the EU after years of efforts by Serbia to try to join the bloc.

However, the implementation of the agreement, which is expected to boost trade and economic ties between the EU and Serbia, still hinges on whether Belgrade fully cooperate with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY).

Speaking after the signing ceremony in Luxembourg, Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, whose country currently holds the EU presidency, said the signature of the SAA and an interim agreement with Serbia confirmed that "Europe wants Serbia to join the European family as soon as possible."

"Now Serbia is supposed to show how ready it is," he said, adding that full cooperation with the ICTY is essential.

"Serbia will enjoy the privileges of the accords once the conditions are fulfilled," Rupel said.

EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said the SAA sent a signal to the Serbian people about their European future and is "a milestone" in the road towards eventual EU membership.

The signing of the deal was made possible after the Netherlands and Belgium dropped their opposition to the move Tuesday morning.

The two countries had previously insisted that the EU should not sign the deal with Serbia before Belgrade extradites key war crime suspects, in particular former Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic, to the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

The EU's decision to sign the SAA with Serbia is seen as an attempt to boost the chances of the pro-Western camp in the upcoming elections in Serbia. Serbian President Boris Tadic's Democrats will compete against the nationalist parties in Serbia in the early polls on May 11.

Welcoming the agreement, Tadic said it will bring about enormous economic and political benefits to Serbian people as well as EU citizens.

He said his country will do its best to fulfill the conditions set by the EU, including the capture and handover of war crimes indictees to the ICTY.

"We have been doing everything within our power (to capture and deliver them), but this is not very easy," he told reporters after attending the signing ceremony in Luxembourg.

"But we will do our best to fulfill all obligations," he added.

"I hope Serbia will become an EU candidate country by the end of this year," he said with great optimism.

However, Tadic stressed that the signing of the agreement did not mean that Serbia accepts the unilaterally declared independence by Kosovo.

The SAA does not prejudge the final status of Kosovo, he said.

"As president of Serbia I continue to protect the (territorial) integrity of Serbia, but at the same time I'm doing everything I can in order for Serbia to find its European future," Tadic said.

"The final status of Kosovo can only be determined within United Nations institutions," he said.

Relations between Serbia and the EU were strained after Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia on Feb. 17, which was supported by a majority of EU members despite Serbia's strong opposition.

Belgrade sees Kosovo as the cradle of their civilization and an integral part of the country's territory. Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica on Monday said signing the SAA would be " unconstitutional" because leading EU countries recognized Kosovo's declaration of independence.

Kostunica said the pro-Western president Boris Tadic could sign the SAA only in his own name, but the agreement would not be binding on Serbia.

Implementation of EU-Serbia pact held off

Quote:
CONSTANT BRAND
April 29, 2008 1:32 PM

LUXEMBOURG-European Union nations signed a pre-membership trade-and-aid pact with Serbia Tuesday to help pro-Western parties there win the May 11 elections and signal they want to pull Serbia closer despite significant differences over Kosovo.

The EU's 27 foreign ministers and Serbian Deputy Premier Bozidar Djelic signed the deal. But, wary of Serbia's Balkan wars record, the EU will only implement the pre-membership deal once Belgrade fully cooperates with the Yugoslav war crimes tribunal in The Hague, which has demanded the extradition of the last remaining war crimes suspects.

The pact was signed after the Netherlands and Belgium lifted their vetoes on the signing of the so-called Stabilization and Association Agreement. But because it will not take immediate effect, the signing had a largely symbolic value.

Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen said "the best proof" of Belgrade's cooperation with the U.N. tribunal would be delivering four war crimes suspects, notably Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb commander wanted for the murder of 8,000 Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica in 1995, to trial in The Hague.

At a news conference with EU officials, Serbian President Boris Tadic said he hoped the signing of the pre-membership accord will discount the impact of anti-EU parties in the run-up to the May 11 elections.

"Many enemies of our European future are engaged in scare-mongering," he added.

He vowed to quickly extradite Mladic, ex-Bosnian Serb political leader Radovan Karadzic and other suspects, but said it was difficult because the suspects move around frequently and are at times abroad.

Tadic also called for his country to be made an official EU candidate country by the end of the year.

Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic rejected criticism that it amounted to little more than a political gesture. He said it was important in the run-up to the May elections, which he called "a referendum on our membership in the European Union."

The pre-membership accord, when implemented, would offer Serbia easier travel to EU nations as well as increased aid, trade and technical expertise to prepare it for possible entry into the EU. The deal has been on the table for months, but was put on hold following Kosovo's declaration of independence Feb. 17, which soured EU-Serbia ties.

Serbia's hardline Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica in Belgrade said the signing of the deal was "an act against the constitution and the state and as such illegal and illegitimate."

"It is worth absolutely nothing," he said in a statement.

He said the signing of the agreement "cannot be interpreted as Serbia's signature for the independence of Kosovo."

EU officials insisted the EU-Serbia agreement does not apply to the territory of Kosovo, which declared itself independent from Serbia in February.

Serbia forgives $3 billion Iraqi debt

Quote:
April 29, 2008
Iraqi defense ministry said Serbia had agreed to write off $3 billion in Iraq's foreign debt.

Serbia's move comes after an international conference last week in Kuwait at which Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice unsuccessfully pressed Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states to forgive Iraq's debts as a sign of support for Iraq's government.

Iraq harbors at least $67 billion in foreign debt, the vast majority of it owed to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

How nice, the Serbian puppet government giving the Iraqi puppet government a break at the request of the Jews. The jews are misunderstood for all they really want to do is help Iraq.
Them Jews sure are humanitarians constantly looking out for our best interests.

Hague not to investigate sale of Serb organs
May 19, 2008
SERRBIANNA

Quote:
Hague will not investigate Albanians for trafficking in organs of Serbs because the amount of evidence that the prosecutors office has is insufficient to get a conviction.

ICTY Spokeswoman told the Serbian media that the Prosecution's Office has received requests to investigate but the outgoing strategy of the Tribunal prohibits the initiation of new investigations.

Former chief prosecutor wrote in her her new book that Albanians transferred captured Kosovo Serbs to Albania where they killed them in order to sell their organs.

Hague Spokeswoman said that the Tribunal previously did investigate the matter and found insufficient proof.

The spokesperson Olga Kavran said that the office will release all information it possesses on Muslim Albanian organ traffic of Kosovo Serbs.

"The Prosecution, in accordance with the exit strategy regulated by the UN SC, cannot conduct new investigations since the end of 2004," Kavran told Tanjug.

Kavran explained that the Prosecution had earlier conducted a preliminary investigation regarding the information on abduction of people in Kosovo, who were taken to Albania, where their organs were extracted, but that "they didn't have enough evidence at the time that would justify the further work of the ICTY on that, and in connection with its jurisdiction."

Kavran said that the Prosecution would offer information to individual states that are launching an investigation on that case and respond to the requests of these countries’ investigative bodies.

"That is normal cooperation with states through official requests addressed by these states, i.e. investigative bodies, and we will respond to these requests," said the Spokeswoman.

Kosovo Serbs organize Assemblies

May 20, 2006
SERBIANNA

Quote:
Serbia's Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic said that the assemblies will be the highest institutions of the municipalities where the Kosovo Serbs voted and expressed satisfaction at the voting process.

In addition to the assemblies, executive councils will be established in the municipal power structures, said Samardzic.

"Now the Serbs themselves will take care of their own problems," said Samardzic noting that the elections will determine who will legislate in those assemblies.

UN said that it considers Kosovo Serb voting illegal.

However, Samardzic said that whether it wants it or not, UN will have to keep contact with the elected Serb officials and deal with them in the future.

Samardzic points that the elections themselves will not resolve problems of Kosovo Serbs but that now they may have an institution in help of the resolution.

The recent joint message of foreign ministers of Russia, China and India, who stated that they expect continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, directly pertains to talks on the Kosovo status, stated Samardzic.

According to his assessment, Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov believes that negotiations on the provincial status have not been completed, that is, they have not concluded adequately. The Russian position on this issue is consistent and I do not believe that Lavrov changed his opinion, Samardzic said.

Kosovo Muslim police brutally beats Serb
May 20, 2006

Quote:
Serb National Council for Kosovo has condemned in the most harsh terms the behavior of the so-called Kosovo police service officers or KPS who have beaten a Serb youngster in Gracanica.

KPS officers are overwhelmingly Muslim Albanians who have violently seized control of this Serbian province.

Serb National Council for Kosovo says that KPS routinely maltreats citizens in Serb regions.

The Council demanded an urgent return of Serb policemen to the ranks of the provincial police under UNMIK’s command.

The brutal detention and beating of the Serb youngster has additionally disturbed the inhabitants of central Kosovo and at the same time showed what would be the position of Serbs in some quasi-state of Kosovo, reads the statement.

US should not have imposed solution for Kosovo, Ron Paul

May 20, 2006
SERBIANNA

Quote:
US should not have imposed their will in resolving the Kosovo issue, stated Republican congressman from Texas Ron Paul in an interview for the Voice of America.

Instead, Washington should have refrained from intervention in order to find a long-term stable solution for the Serbian province.

Stating that the principle of self-determination might be acceptable in a case of a sovereign state swallowed by the then Soviet Union, the US congressman emphasized that Kosovo is not such a case and that a more cautious policy should have been led.

Tadic's Titanic
In Serbia, the Wreck of Wishful Thinking

by Nebojsa Malic

Nothing so destroys the delusions about democracy as the practice thereof. Examples of this are legion; one could look at the daytime drama presidential campaigns in the U.S., or the ethnic referenda in places like Kenya or Bosnia-Herzegovina. The latest exhibit in the case against democracy comes from Serbia, where general elections were held on May 11.

Even before the polls closed, the "European Serbia" coalition, led by the Democratic Party leader and President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, was claiming a stunning victory. Media, both in Serbia and the West, thundered about the country's "clear European choice" and waxed poetic about Serbia's "tilt to the West." The morning after, however, electoral math spoke differently.

In order to form a government, any party or coalition in Serbia has to have at least 126 seats in the 250-member Skupshtina. Tadic's coalition got 103. Even with the support of every possible ethnic minority party and the militant Liberal Democrats, the most votes he could put together in the parliament was 123.

On the other hand, the "patriotic bloc" that supposedly "lost" the election - Serbian Radical Party (SRS), ex-PM Vojislav Kostunica's populist coalition (DSS-NS) and the Socialists (SPS) – won more than enough mandates among themselves to put together a government: 127.

As the awareness of numbers slowly crept into the post-election EUphoria in both Serbia and the West, anger and threats replaced self-congratulatory twaddle. U.S. and UK ambassadors, as they've grown accustomed to, lectured the people of Serbia that democracy didn't really mean letting those who won the most votes rule. Because, you see, only the Democrats had democratic legitimacy to democratize democratically in a democracy…

And if democracy failed to bring Democrats to power, there were always other means. Ceda Jovanovic, leader of the militantly pro-Imperial Liberal Democrats, spoke about a "parallel government." Bozidar Djelic, Tadic's right-hand man, claimed there would be protests in the streets – then tried to backtrack and blame Reuters for misinterpretation.

Tadic himself threatened he would "not allow" any "tampering with the popular will." Yet there was no disguising the fact that he found himself in the exact same position as the Radicals have been in the past five years: the strongest single party in the parliament, unable to actually rule.

Courting the SPS

Empire's enablers and EU's favorites thus found themselves in a quandary. They could not go back into a government with Kostunica; they had to be dragged into a marriage of convenience with him last year, and burned all their bridges this spring, after sabotaging the government's policy on Kosovo. The Radicals stand for everything they despise: tradition, sovereignty, independence. So in desperation, they reached out to the Socialists – the party of the late Slobodan Milosevic, whom they have incessantly demonized for the past decade.

Suddenly, one could hear from the champions of "democratic reform" that the Socialists weren't really all that bad, they could be a modern leftist party if they'd only shed the 1990s baggage, and say, wouldn't they want to join the Socialist International, of which the Democrats are a member (sort of)? Even the Brussels commissars chimed in, saying the Socialists' support would not be objectionable (quite a different story from four years ago).

Somehow, the Serbian voters were supposed to believe that the Radicals, who were allied with Milosevic for a short time in the 1990s, and Kostunica – who ran against Milosevic in 2000 and succeeded him as President after DOS took power – somehow represented the "retrograde forces of the 1990s," while Milosevic's actual party was a "modern, progressive" force of reform?

On the Edge

There was some reason to believe that Socialist leaders could be seduced by the promises from Brussels. After all, Serbia's obsession with the EU was manufactured from people's nostalgia for the old Socialist Yugoslavia, in which no one had to work and everyone had everything – until the IMF loans came due, anyway. Those in Serbia who worship the EU don't want a bigger market for their products, or lower customs, or better standards of governance; they want free money, pure and simple.

For a week, the Democrats seemed convinced the Socialist leaders would sell out their voters for a chance to partake in Brussels junkets. Serbia was "on the edge," declared political analysts, punning on the name of the Socialists' leader, Ivica ("edge") Dacic.

Over the weekend, Dacic flew to Moscow, ostensibly to meet with a minor Russian politician. Serbian media feverishly speculated whether he discussed a possible deal with the Democrats with members of Milosevic's family, who now live in Russia. Or could he have sought advice from Putin and Medvedev?

Finally, news came on Tuesday that the Socialists agreed to form a government with the Radicals and Kostunica.

No Easy Task

Last Friday, Tadic derided the possibility of Socialists joining his opponents, saying such a government would be a "short trip on the Titanic." One can only assume the Democratic Party leader had in mind to be the iceberg; the "nationalist" government may actually be the most stable political structure in Serbia since the DOS coup in 2000.

DOS was a squabbling mess of pocket parties whose leaders all suffered from delusions of grandeur. Subsequently, under tremendous pressure to keep the Radicals out of power, Kostunica had to accept either allies of the Democrats (G17-Plus, in the first mandate) or the Democrats themselves (in the second mandate), both of whom ran their own policies and ultimately caused the government to collapse. For the first time in almost a decade, the government actually has a consensus on issues of vital importance to Serbia, and doesn't contain a "Trojan" element.

On the other hand, the Empire has invested too heavily in the Democrats and their hangers-on, as well as a host of "non-governmental" organizations, and is likely to increase their funding now. Political pressure from Brussels and Washington is bound to rise. So will the demonization of "nationalists" in the Western press, already growing for the past few years. Serbian press is by and large controlled by foreign interests, both economic and political; it will continue to hound the government and brainwash the people into "accepting the reality" of Imperial domination.

The Stumbling Giants

It is questionable, however, how long that domination may last. With each passing day, oil gets more expensive (strengthening, say, Russia) and the dollar gets weaker. The Mesopotamian expedition is bogged down, and attempts to "win" by expanding the war to Iran may result in a Stalingrad scenario.

Empire's hegemony in the Balkans may soon be put to a test by none other than its Albanian protégés. Elections in Macedonia are on June 1, and the country's restless Albanians are already up in arms, again. One of their leaders, Menduh Thaci, is a cousin of the current "president of Kosovo," Hashim Thaci. Another, Ali Ahmeti, was a longtime lieutenant of Avni Klinaku, who has just established a "Movement for Unification" (of "ethnic Albanian lands"), on May 17 in Pristina. Meanwhile, videos announcing the formation of the "Liberation Army of Chameria" (Epirus, in western Greece) appeared on the internet recently, following the same pattern that Thaci's KLA used to initiate its campaign in Kosovo. It is indeed tempting to conclude that the Greater Albanian project is about to enter its next phase.

The EU's effort to supplant the UN in the "independent state of Kosovo" seems to have foundered as well, the Brussels bureaucrats finding that there was more to creating reality than they initially thought.

All over the world, the idea that wishing for something could make it reality is facing the cold, hard facts that say otherwise. The verbal acrobatics of the Empire and its enablers in Serbia only underscore the vacuous nature of their hegemony. President Tadic's unfortunate metaphor about the Titanic wasn't wrong, merely misplaced. For the real monument to arrogance proudly sailing on the irreversible course towards the End of History now appears to be that of his masters, and his own.

Brothers Miomir and Milos Stojanovic from Gnjilane have been arrested on the regional road from Gnjilane to Bujanovac for wearing t-shirts saying Kosovo is Serbia, stated official of the Kosovo Ministry Milorad Todorovic.

He told the Serbian news agency Beta that two youths were arrested and brought before the municipal prosecutor in Gnjilane.

The Islamic judge decided that the brothers, who are Christian, must either pay 250 Euros each or to spend 60 days in jail.

Kosovo Muslims threaten "violence of the state"

The self-styled deputy prime minister of the Muslim Albanian separatist entity government in Kosovo, Hajredin Kuçi, is threatening to use the "violence of the state" in order to force Kosovo Serbs, who are Christian, to obey the laws Islamic separatist government plans to pass on June 15.

Kuçi's remarks that the government plans to use violence against Serbs came after the inquiry by the Islamic separatist paper Express as to how does the Islamic separatist "government" plan to impose its "law and order" in the north.

Kosovo Christians that live in the north have recently held their own elections after which they will create their own legislative Assemblies because the legislature imposed by the Albanian Islamic radicals in Pristina passas laws that routinely violate their human rights.

Over the past weekend, Islamic judge decided that wearing certain kinds of t'shirts by Christians is illegal and punished the two Christian brothers for that with a 500 Euro fine and/or 60 days in jail.

"I consider necessary that the results of the local elections shall be recognized by the Kosovo authorities, but also it is absolutely necessary acceptance of EULEX mission by Serb authorities," former Minister of Exterior of Serbia Goran Svilanovic said.

Kosovo Serbs celebrated St. Vitus Day in their heartland of Kosovo where in 1389 Serbian troops got defeated by the invading Islamic forces on their way to acquire the rest of Europe.

Members of banned national revolutionary organization Nacionalni Stroj {National Formation} managed to slip into occupied Kosovo and make their presence known.
