Ted Kaczynski's manifesto should still be online.

Musk on Kaczynski: "He Might Not Be Wrong"

Quote:
Elon Musk replied to some skank's post about Uncle Ted by saying "he might not be wrong."

It's cool he said that.

But it sort of fits into his AI fear-mongering that I disagree with.

I agree with fear-mongering about AI, but it should be fear-mongering that only certain people have access to it. Not that it is going to go buckwild and kill everyone - that is just actually goofy.

Also, referencing Ted Kaczynski in a positive way has become a kind of acceptable edginess in recent years.

Tucker Carlson has mentioned Ted several times. I read an article (or saw some CNN segment) tracing the history of right-wing figures talking about it to Tucker Carlson in an Andrew Yang interview.

"Bad person, but a smart analysis."

He obtained a PHd in math and also did some important work involving boundary functions. I first started as a math major as an undergrad and know that the upper level courses can be challenging. Graduate level math courses are a higher level and I would think math would be one of the hardest subjects to study on the graduate level. Why didn't he go into some high level government research field? Well several reasons could cause a person to take an alternative path. Maybe he didn't believe in the government or the corporate system. He had a mental illness. It also comes down to each individual's choice on what kind of life is meaningful. It sounds like he had a lot of anger towards his family so they probably didn't support him like they could have.
You shouldn't judge a person too harshly because you can't see things from their perspective. I am talking about his dropping out of society, not the mail bombs.
