Default War in Brazil

If the Comrades want to get a sense of the war that is going on here in Brazil, between the elite police against the Afro-descendant drug dealers, check out the Brazilian movie "Tropa De Elite" (Elite Squad, 2007), with the protagonist Wagner Moura (BOPE Captain Nascimento).
The film shows the performance of the elite troop BOPE (State Police Special Operations Battalion).

The situation looks worse than the war against Pablo Escobar's Medellin cartel in Colombia in the 1980s.

Certainly, Comrade Ray.

And if you can, watch the entire movie.

There is a real war here.

The drug war in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, continues.

And the BOPE (Rio de Janeiro's elite troop) is our main weapon against the army of drug traffickers, which is effectively armed with portable weapons of war.

The Military Police of Rio de Janeiro is leftist and corrupt, like any police in the world; but BOPE, believe me, is a force apart.

The Left accuses BOPE of being a fascist militia, but BOPE doesn't care, and fulfills the mission...

How can the military police be corrupt and leftist, but a small unit within it (BOPE) be a right-wing force? Wouldn't they be eliminated by the larger command? Or are they separate organizations? I'm not familiar with the organization of Brazil's law enforcement agencies, city, state or federal. In the US, each military branch--army, navy and air force--have their own military police, which are not involved in civilian law enforcement except in presidential-declared emergencies, such as when Trump sent them in to the Black Lives Splatter and antifa riots in the US in 2020.

In the movie, the BOPE appears to be doing the same thing against drug dealers and gangs that Rodrigo Duterte did as the mayor of Davao, Philippines and later as President. Should Bolsonaro make friends with these guys? He was an army captain, but is the military on his side? Hopefully they are just going by the videos you have posted, and not just ZOGbots like the vast majority of the US military is.
