Alaskan Exodus: Palin to visit Israel By ANDY BARR | 3/17/11 Sarah Palin's hitting the Holyland. A Palin aide confirmed to POLITICO on Thursday that the former Alaska governor will be making her first trip to Israel next week for a sit down with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Palin and her husband Todd will arrive in Israel next Sunday for a two-day visit. The couple will make it over to Israel after Palin gives a speech in New Delhi the night before at a major conference of Indian business leaders and politicians. Palin's trip will include visits to Jerusalem's Old City and holy sites in Nazareth. She becomes the latest in a string of potential GOP presidential candidates to travel recently to the Jewish state, including Haley Barbour, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. A trip to Israel has been planned for months, but Palin's camp had been unwilling to disclose any further details other than her desire to visit Netanyahu. If the princess doesn't make the final cut, and the Republicrats "win*" , look for the Likud to appoint her Secretary of State. |
