Two Detained After Italian Police Find ISIS Flag
Two people have been detained and an investigation has been launched after police found the flag of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (Isis) jihadist group and a map of Rome in an apartment. The discovery comes less than a month after Isis published a photo of its flag superimposed on the obelisk in St Peter’s square on the front cover of its propaganda magazine, ‘Dabiq’. The magazine contained an article about the fight against “Rome” and “the Romans”, terminology used to refer more widely to the West. http://www.thelocal.it/20141111/two-...find-isis-flag |

Recession-Battered Italy’s GDP Back to 2000 Level
Italy’s GDP fell 0.1% in third quarter (ANSA) — Rome, November 14 — The beleaguered Italian economy’s gross domestic product has plunged “to 2000 levels” after 13 straight quarters without managing any positive growth, Istat national statistics agency said Friday. Underlining the continued failure to emerge from business recession, Italy’s GDP edged down by 0.1% in the third quarter of 2014 with respect to the previous three months and by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2013, Istat said in its preliminary estimate. The economy posted flat growth in the first quarter of this year and GDP dropped 0.2% in the April-June period, Istat added. Estimated GDP for all of 2014 assuming zero growth in the fourth quarter would be the equivalent of -0.3%, Istat continued. According to Eurostat, Italy and Cyprus are the only countries to experience negative growth in the third quarter of 2014 with Cyprus’s GDP contracting by 0.4%. GDP in the eurozone rose on average by 0.2% and in the 28-nation European Union by an average of 0.3%. The eurozone is currently posting 0.8% annual growth, which is 1.3% in the EU, underlining how far Italy is lagging behind the rest of Europe, Eurostat added. http://www.ansa.it/english/news/2014...c751d12b9.html |

Italian Jewish Migration to Israel Booming in 2014
Biggest exodus in 40 years, ‘motivated by crisis and prejudice’ (ANSAmed) — JERUSALEM, NOVEMBER 21 — An estimated 300 Italian Jews are expected to emigrate to Israel this year in the biggest such exodus to the Jewish state from the peninsula in some 40 years, an Italo-Israeli demographer, Sergio Della Pergola, disclosed Friday. The figure represents 1.1% of Italy’s Jewish population, Pergola told ANSA. While the number is relatively small, their demographic impact on the Jewish community registered in Italy of some 25,000 is significant, he adds. Those emigrating are motivated by the economic crisis in Italy as well as “endemic” prejudice and anti-Semitism in the media, on the Internet, and vast sectors of parliament, Pergola said. “We must give credit to the Italian government for taking a clear stance on the matter, beginning with President (Giorgio) Napolitano,” he said. “It is not the political class that is responsible, but rather the mechanism that solders old prejudice against Jews to the new anti-Semitism linked to the relations between the Jews and Israel”. The anti-Semitism Italian Jews experience, however, is nowhere near the physical danger Jews living in Israel currently face. “In Italy there almost zero attacks, but the discomfort persists,” Pergola said. http://www.ansamed.info/ansamed/en/n...c5905914e.html |

Immigrants Enrich Host Countries, Says Pope Francis
(AGI) Vatican City, Nov 21 — Immigrants enrich host countries, Pope Francis said at the World Congress on the Pastoral Care of Migration on Friday. “In effect, receiving nations draw advantages from employing immigrants for production needs and national prosperity, not infrequently filling gaps created by the demographic crisis,” he said. “In turn, the nations which migrants leave show a reduction in unemployment and, above all, benefit from earnings which are then sent back to meet the needs of families who remain in the country”. “Sadly, migrants often experience disappointment, distress and loneliness. In effect, the migrant worker has to deal with the problem of being uprooted and needing to integrate,” said the Pope. “In the receiving nations, we also see difficulties associated with migrants settling in urban neighbourhoods which are already problematic, as well as their difficulties in integrating and learning to respect the social and cultural conventions which they find. Turning to the Catholic Church itself, he said: “Here the Church also seeks to be a source of hope: she develops programmes of education and orientation; she raises her voice in defence of migrants’ rights; she offers assistance, including material assistance to everyone, without exception, so that all may be treated as children of God.” At Friday morning mass in Santa Marta, he said: “How often when we enter a church do we see, even today, a price list hanging there ‘for baptism, blessings, Mass intentions’. And people are scandalised. So when the Church or churches start doing business, then it is said that … salvation is not so free … this is why Jesus takes the whip to hand to carry out this act of the purification of the Temple … I think of how our attitude can scandalise people with unpriestly habits in the Temple: the scandal of doing business, the scandal of worldliness,” he concluded. http://www.agi.it/en/italy/news/immi...04-cro-inw0004 |

Italy: Muslim-Friendly Tourism Grows Faster Than Global Market
Market worth 126 bn Usd a year, but Italy lags (ANSAmed) — ROME, NOVEMBER 26 — They are young, cultured, technological and rich. They travel 12 months a year, and Italy is one of the countries at the top of their wishlist because, if the Coliseum and luxury shopping were not enough, Rome also has the largest mosque in Europe. But they complain about the lack of services and packages dedicated to them, in particular the possibility to eat according to Halal rules (Arabic word that means “licit”), and for this reason they snub Italy in favor of other European countries (France, Germany, Spain, and even Scandinavian countries). The characteristics of the typical Muslim tourist were outlined by the project Italia Bayti (Italy my home) organized to sensitize the Italian hospitality industry to hosting Middle Eastern clients and, more generally, those coming from one of 57 countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The industry segment is substantial considering that for the last 10 years Muslim-friendly tourism has been growing by 5% per year, compared to 3.8% growth for international tourism in general. In 2013, Muslim-friendly tourism was worth 126 billion dollars, or 12.3% of total spending on global tourism. In addition, Muslim tourists have enormous spending capacity. One need only to consider that the Saudi tourist spends the most per capita in absolute terms, from 10,000 to 100,000 euros per year in travel and vacation. The largest part of the requests come from Saudi Arabia, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Kuwait, but there is also a large segment of the market for those Muslims who live in non-Islamic environments, such as France and Germany. Top destinations are Malaysia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, followed by Singapore, Russia, China, France, Thailand and even Italy, which, however, has much untapped potential. “A month ago in Granada, there was the first European congress on Halal tourism,” explained Anna Maria Aisha Tiozzo, vice president of Confassociazioni and president of World Halal Development (WHAD). “There are very strict criteria that require dedicated structures for Muslim tourists,” she added, such as no alcohol, Halal cooking, pools and other separate places for men and women, places of prayer, no music or television. “Here in Italy it would be ‘mission impossible’. We are not ready and perhaps not even suited, and the tourists don’t even ask for it. What they complain about is, instead, a series of services that are essential for them and an attitude that is Muslim-friendly, on which we can and must do much more. For this reason, with WHAD, we have instituted a training and certification program directed toward the whole tourism world that is aimed at a rating by international bodies and that we will present also at the BIT (international tourism fair in Milan)”. A survey found that for 67% of Muslim travelers, Halal food is an indispensable requirement, followed by a fair price (53%) and a Muslim friendly attitude (49%) also towards families. Muslim travelers appreciate places that are suitable for their prayers, as well as staff and guides who speak Arabic or at least English. In Italy, they look for mountain and lake locations — as lakes are novel for them — as well as elite sports like horseback riding and golf. They also seek out luxury and Made in Italy shopping, the medical sector, beauty and spas. They would also be open to sampling Italian cuisine, as long as it is Halal. “In Italy, there are 56 million soccer commissioners and 56 million tourism experts, but there have been no steps made to improve this sector,” said Giuseppe Sarnella, “We can no longer be content with traditional tourism”. http://www.ansamed.info/ansamed/en/n...225de0c31.html |

More Italians Emigrate as Immigration Falls, OECD Reports
Italy’s migratory balance still positive unlike Spain, Portugal (ANSA) — Rome, December 1 — The number of Italians emigrating has steadily increased in recent years, reaching as many as 100,000 in 2012 and likely to have increased even more in 2013, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said Monday. Nevertheless, Italy’s migratory balance remained positive in 2012 compared to Spain and Portugal where outflows of citizens were not balanced by inflows and thus, their populations dropped, the OECD said in its latest report on international migration. That showed the number of permanent immigrants to Italy fell dramatically between 2007 and 2012; from 572,000 in 2007 to as few as 258,000 in 2012, the OECD said. That has had an impact on the total migration figures for the organization’s area. “The lower number of immigrants to Italy is the main reason for the overall reduction in immigration to OECD countries,” said the report. Immigrants have increased their presence in the Italian labour force in recent years — albeit in certain well-defined areas, the report said. Immigrants made up 10% of the population by 2012 compared with just 2.5% in 2001. As many as 58% of immigrants were employed in 2012, many in the domestic service sector. But immigrants are at risk of higher unemployment as they often have no local contacts and can find it hard to adapt to structural changes in the labour market. Many immigrants become trapped in low-paid jobs with little prospect of making careers, the OECD added. Only Greece is more polarised than Italy in the OECD area between jobs dominated by immigrants and natives, the report said. Young immigrants also are at risk of unemployment in Italy since they are usually poorly educated and badly prepared to use the labour market successfully. http://www.ansa.it/english/news/2014...972fe3968.html |

Italy: Soccer: Balotelli Sparks Racism Storm, Faces FA Investigation
Italian apologises, says Instagram post misinterpreted (ANSA) — Rome, December 2 — Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could face a Football Association (FA) investigation despite apologising on Tuesday for a post on his Instagram page that sparked a racism storm. On Monday, the 24-year-old posted an image of the Super Mario computer game character with a caption that read: “Don’t be racist. Be like Mario. He’s an Italian plumber, created by Japanese people, who speaks English and looks like a Mexican… jumps like a black man and grabs coins like a Jew”. The talented, temperamental player, whose career has been dogged by episodes of indiscipline and several bizarre off-field incidents, deleted the post and said sorry. “I apologize if I’ve offended anyone,” Balotelli said via Twitter. “The post was meant to be anti-racist with humour. I now understand that out of context it may have the opposite effect. “Not all Mexicans have moustache, not all black people jump high and not all Jewish people love money. “I used a cartoon done by someone else because it had Super Mario and I thought it was funny and not offensive. Again, I’m sorry”. British media reported that Balotelli has been asked by the FA for his observations regarding the post. The FA is reportedly considering charging Balotelli with bringing the game into disrepute. The forward, who has notched 13 goals in 33 appearances for Italy, has yet to score in the Premier League after joining Liverpool from AC Milan in the close season. He is out of action at the moment with a hamstring injury. http://www.ansa.it/english/news/2014...98b324689.html |

Census Says ‘Human Capital’ Of 8 Mn Italians Wasted
Millions unemployed, others discouraged with skills not used (ANSA) — Rome, December 5 — Human capital in Italy is “dissipating” with some eight million people not putting their skills and energy to use, according to a Census report on the country’s social situation released Friday. That includes three million potential workers who are unemployed, another three million available but not actively looking, and almost two million workers deemed ‘discouraged’. Hardest hit are young Italians, where the jobless rate is more than 40%. http://www.ansa.it/english/news/2014...98b2a0fe4.html |

Foreigners in Italy are more likely to have an abortion than Italian women, while the overall number of terminations is going down, figures released on Friday show.
There were 103,191 abortions carried out in Italy in 2012, 6,850 fewer than the year before, the national statistics agency Istat said. The figures put the country’s abortion rate at 7.6 per 1,000 women aged 15-49; the fourth-lowest rate in Europe behind Austria, Germany and Greece. Estonia has the highest abortion rate in Europe - 23.7 per 1,000 women - followed by Bulgaria and Sweden. But the Italy figures were doubted by doctor Silvana Agatone, who is president of the Laiga association campaigning for the application of the country’s abortion law. Although hospitals must provide abortion services under Italian law, many doctors refuse based on religious grounds. “They count the number of abortions that are done, but they don’t study the amount of requests. “I can’t do more than 20 abortions a week, even if there are 50 women waiting outside,” she told The Local. http://www.thelocal.it/20141212/abor...gners-in-italy |

Is it serious? The Italian government is worried about rescue immigrants from the sea instead put them out? The Italian or other Europe countries governments should take care about the Europeans problems instead worry about the lives that are lost in the never ending tries of arriving in Europe by crossing the sea even because it wasn’t the Europeans that impose the niggers to cross the sea. I think the European governments don´t know what to do anymore to feeze and betray their people.

Let's not suggest to them that they send rescue ships half way around the planet, to collect boat persons of whom Southeast Asian countries are sending back out to sea.

Israeli ambassador to Italy warns of antisemitism
In Trieste for Holocaust Remembrance Day 24 JANUARY 2023 In Italy, through "the current government and past ones", much is being done to "fight antisemitism", Israeli Ambassador Alon Bar said during a meeting with the Italy-Israel association on Monday evening. "However," he added, "antisemitism remains in some small daily actions, that initially are seen as a joke by those committing them. Too often the gravity of these gestures is not realised. It is important therefore to move forward in explaining what antisemitism is", including in schools and institutes. "This is a problem present in all countries in the world," he added. The ambassador is in Trieste on Tuesday for several initiatives planned as part of Holocaust Remembrance Day, in which Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi will also be taking part. https://www.ansamed.info/ansamed/en/...37fb0a418.html |
