Over the last few weeks since I was told about this I've noticed that many of the vans driven around the GM area are driven by white males, many construction workers. There are approximately 75,000 vehicles that will have to pay this tax. I think this is a discriminate tax on the White Van Man.

No left turn: Couple are forced to pay £12.50 just to turn left out of their driveway because their home is right on the edge of London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Ultra Low Emission Zone
George and Vera Dowler face a charge when they turn left from their driveway
Their Eltham home in south east London is inside the zone before traffic lights
This is led them to shelling out £40,000 on new vehicles to comply with rules

A couple have told of their anger at having to pay a £12.50 ULEZ charge every time they turn left out of their driveway.

George and Vera Dowler's home is unfortunately positioned right on the low emission zone border in Eltham in south east London.

They face a cash charge any time they drove their older cars past the traffic lights near their home after last's month's expansion of ULEZ in their area.

This is what will happen in Greater Manchester in time to come.

I believe some of the more lefty-commie states in the US such as California are imposing green taxes like this on our tax mules, i.e. Whites, especially White males.

EXCLUSIVE: Sadiq Khan renews threat to charge Home Counties workers with £33-A-DAY commuting charge to drive into Greater London as senior Tories warn move would 'erect a barrier around the capital'
EXCLUSIVE: Veteran MPs blasted Mayor of London Sadiq Khan's idea for charges
They said a huge volume of firemen, police and paramedics live outside the city
It meant that they could be slapped with an eye-watering £33-per-day commute
Mr Khan's threat comes as he begs for more taxpayers' cash from government
By JAMES GANT FOR MAILONLINE

PUBLISHED: 13:57, 6 December 2021 | UPDATED: 16:52, 6 December 2021

What are the fees and charging times for London drivers?
Charge Sadiq Khan wants to bring in:

£5.50 Greater London Boundary: Details to be announced. A higher boundary of £5.50 for more polluting vehicles could be brought in, with a lower amount of £3.50-a-day for lesser polluting vehicles.
Charges that already apply:

£15 Congestion Charge: 7am to 10pm, seven days of the week, every day of the year, except December 25. Applied to all non-electric vehicles from October 25.
£12.50 Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ): Operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, except December 25. Applies to all petrol cars made before 2006 and diesel cars made before 2015.
£100 Low Emission Zone (LEZ): Operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Applies to vans and trucks that do not meet 'Euro 3 standard. Most vans and trucks made after 2001 meet the standard.

Sadiq Khan's threat of a new charge on vehicles driving into London would 'erect a barrier around the capital' and 'hurt everyone', senior Tories have warned.

Veteran MPs such as Iain Duncan Smith and Theresa Villiers blasted the Mayor's idea of an up to £5.50-per-day levy on cars entering the outer boroughs of the capital.

They pointed out the huge volume of firemen, police and paramedics who live outside the city could be slapped with an eye-watering £33-a-day commute.

It would be for those paying the new amount as well as the Congestion Charge and ULEZ - such as a nurse living in Kent but driving to work at St Thomas's Hospital.

The GLA Conservatives drafted the letter, seen by MailOnline, to Mr Khan as he grapples with the government for yet more money to be pumped into London.

Peter Fortune AM, Deputy Leader of the GLA Conservatives, said: 'Sadiq Khan needs to drop his disastrous boundary charge threat. Slapping drivers with a daily charge to enter Greater London would hit commuters with a £1,000 a year bill for visiting, working and shopping in our city.

'That's an eye-watering bill to push onto struggling families in the Home Counties. It would also have a catastrophic effect on Outer London's businesses and public services that rely on customers and workers who live outside the capital.

'Threatening UK taxpayers with a toll to enter Greater London is the worst way to negotiate a fourth bailout for Transport for London. Instead of threatening terrible ideas, Khan needs to work constructively with the government to reform TfL and keep London moving.'

Green penalties for older cars are fuelling a rise in cloned plates as drivers seek to avoid fines for fume-spewing vehicles, motoring experts warn
The AA fears fake plate rise has only begun with more green zones brought in
Birmingham, London and Bath have led the way on bringing in green zones
And Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle could be next
By DAVID CHURCHILL TRANSPORT CORRESPONDENT FOR THE DAILY MAIL

PUBLISHED: 00:31, 3 January 2022 | UPDATED: 00:47, 3 January 2022

A surge in illegal number plate cloning has been blamed on drivers trying to avoid paying penalties for older polluting cars.

Reports of cars being wrongly linked to fines for driving in ‘clean air’ or ‘low-emissions’ zones have shot up, suggesting more and more rogue motorists are fitting fake plates to cheat city centre enforcement cameras.

Birmingham, London and Bath have led the way on green zones. Bristol’s clean air zone will charge older cars £9 and HGVs, buses and coaches £100 from the summer.

Sadiq Khan is calling for the introduction of a temporary construction worker visa scheme to tackle the impact of Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic.

The London Mayor is proposing that ministers create a Coronavirus Recovery Visa of at least a year, to help sectors struggling with shortages of workers, including construction.

Mr Khan is also calling for a regional shortage occupation list that allows London and other cities to attract and retain staff in sectors with acute staff shortages.

Before Brexit, the capital was dependent on migrant building workers, with more than half the workforce being from the EU and beyond, said the mayor.

He added that official figures show the number of construction workers in the capital from the EU fell 54% in the three years to April 2020.

A Government spokesman told MailOnline that the Home Office had launched a £3million awareness campaign telling businesses that freedom of movement was ending, and employers 'should invest in our domestic workforce instead of relying on labour from abroad'.

Mr Khan said: 'Tackling London's housing crisis has always been one of my top priorities since becoming mayor.

'We've worked tirelessly over the last five years to get London building again, and the construction sector forms a key part of London's Covid recovery plan.

'However, both our recovery and efforts to deliver the genuinely affordable homes Londoners desperately need could now be put at risk if there isn't the skilled workforce available to build them.

'The Government must look beyond their current blinkered approach to immigration and recognise the impending crisis that is already enveloping one of our most vital industries.

'Training our own people to take on jobs in the construction sector is an admirable aim and one we're working hard to meet, but in the meantime we need skilled tradespeople on site now to manage the short-term crisis and build a strong recovery.'

A Home Office spokesperson said: 'A broad range of occupations that support the construction industry are eligible under the skill worker visa including Bricklayers, Masons, Carpenters and Joiner. A job doesn't need to be on the Shortage Occupation List to be sponsored for a Skilled Worker visa.

'Employers should invest in our domestic workforce instead of relying on labour from abroad. We've implemented an unprecedented package of measures to support businesses during the pandemic and our Plan for Jobs is helping people across the country retrain, build new skills and get back into work.'

The London Labour party has forged an unholy alliance with big developers, who fund their Council's through CIL and other schemes. This is just Sadiq representing the desires of big developers.

Get developers to pay better wages. Then UK Tradespeople can actually afford to live in London and maybe even afford a parking space to park their van.

Know London builder. He worked for a day on job. All the other builders were not from the UK. Were living in camper vans during job, then left the country after the job was over. Do you think they paid tax. UK London Tradespeople have to be qualified, pay tax, high rents. Get heir vans broken into every month. Then get wages undercut by transient non-UK workers.

Sadiq supporting big developers again. Wants to import cheap labour instead of supporting UK Tradespeople. Give UK workers key worker housing, exemption from the ULEZ, Reinstate the ULEZ compensation scheme that was quietly scrapped. Provide areas for Tradespeople to park their vans. STOP the epidemic in tool and van theft.

UK Trades people can't afford to live in London. Don't get key worker social housing. If manage to get a room, Many flats have no parking areas , so can't park a van. Have to spend over 15K for new ULEZ complient van. Sadiq's policies have caused the problem.

Maybe the one-armed man from Syria who moved in next door to me with his family could be of great help, I'm sure only having one hand won't effect his great skill... On the other hand (pun intended) maybe it's best he claims sick benefits for the rest of the time that he is in this country!

There is at the moment a movement started up with 50 thousand members on FB. This is just the start, they have started a website up too.

Many of the postings are from ordinary people who because of the age of there vehicles will have to pay £10 per day to go to work if they live or work in the Greater Manchester area.

HGV's, Buses, Horseboxes and motorhomes will pay £60 per day.
Taxis are £7.50 per day.

Andy Burnham, Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester, states that the Government have made him do it, many of the Clean Air Zones that have been set up are by Labour run Councils.

Andy Burnham the Labour Mayor, has if information is right and I have seen postings and snapshots of meeting documents where Andy Burnham has had to leave meetings because he or members of his family have interest in Electric Vehicle Charge Point Infrastructure.

If you look at all the Cities and Towns where this charge is being brought in they are run by The Labour Party, except the City 0f Bath.

The UK doesn't need a "clean air zone" - it needs a "nigger-free zone".

Sadiq Khan plots to hit motorists in London with 'pay per mile' charges to force drivers of polluting vehicles onto public transport
City Hall says road user charging is ‘fair scheme’ that could replace existing fees
A 27 per cent drop in city’s traffic required by 2030 to meet net-zero ambitions
Motoring groups say policies should focus on helping drivers get electric cars
Technology to charge drivers per mile is ‘still years away from being ready’

Sadiq Khan was accused last night of clobbering hard-up motorists with his plans to charge them by the mile in London.

The capital’s Labour mayor wants road pricing to force those who drive petrol or diesel cars to switch to public transport, walking, cycling or electric vehicles ‘where necessary’.

He said he is ‘not willing to put off action’ to hit climate targets.

Research commissioned by Mr Khan found that a 27 per cent reduction in London’s car traffic is required by 2030 to meet net-zero ambitions.

A report by City Hall said road user charging would be a ‘simple and fair scheme’ that could replace existing fees such as the Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone.

But motoring groups including the AA and RAC said policies should focus on helping motorists get electric vehicles, rather than punishing those who cannot afford them.

AA president Edmund King said: ‘We need to encourage the uptake of cleaner, greener vehicles.’

The RAC’s Nicholas Lyes said: ‘These proposals would create massive financial challenges for individuals, families and businesses who run a car in London.’

It's just fucking crazy. All electric vehicles do is just move the problem to the power station down the road that burns AMERICAN FORESTS for fuel.

What we really need is for these fuckers to stop bringing millions of people here and send all the other ones back using seized assets of said fuckers.

Problem solved.

Are electric cars the new 'diesel scandal' waiting to happen? They generate polluting particles just like petrol vehicles, are not even that cost-effective and, as one expert finds, will not save the planet
While diesel cars tend to be more fuel-efficient with lower emissions, they also emit greater quantities of other pollutants that damage air quality and health
Now, electric cars could be the future for many as BJORN LOMBORG explains
By BJORN LOMBORG FOR THE DAILY MAIL

PUBLISHED: 22:53, 6 February 2022 | UPDATED: 02:51, 7 February 2022

Do you remember Britain’s ‘dash for diesel’? It began more than 20 years ago when the then Chancellor, Gordon Brown, announced a new car tax system favouring vehicles with lower emissions of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.

Diesel cars tend to be more fuel-efficient with lower emissions, and Mr Brown hailed them as the greener and cheaper option. Over a decade and a half, the number of such vehicles on British roads quadrupled.

What didn’t emerge until much later — although it was no secret in the motor industry or among government officials — was that diesel cars also emitted greater quantities of other pollutants, nitrogen oxides and particulates that damage air quality and human health.

Today, diesel is a dirty word and many countries penalise drivers with extra congestion charges and vehicle duty.

It began more than 20 years ago when the then Chancellor, Gordon Brown, announced a new car tax system favouring vehicles with lower emissions of carbon dioxide

Such particulates, which have been linked to respiratory problems, heart disease and lung cancer, have been responsible for thousands of premature deaths. Britain wasn’t alone, of course. In their desire to be seen as ever greener, governments of richer countries were all pursuing the same policies on car tax, or cutting duty on diesel fuel.

Today, diesel is a dirty word and many countries penalise drivers with extra congestion charges and vehicle duty.

I was reminded of this by the recent warning from the Environment Secretary, George Eustice, on the ‘polluting particles’ produced by battery-powered vehicles. Not from exhaust emissions, but from brake linings, tyres and road surfaces, because such vehicles are much heavier owing to the presence of the battery.

No doubt others experienced a similar sense of deja vu. For in an effort to signal climate leadership, No 10 is racing to end the dominance of petrol and diesel-powered cars. Indeed, it is banning the sale of new fossil-fuel vehicles from 2030. Just as it once extolled the benefits of diesel, we are told now that electric cars are the future — and a crucial fix for climate change.

What it fails to tell us, however, is that electric cars are not the answer for many people, for a host of practical reasons. These include their upfront cost, limited range, the time it takes to charge batteries, the new infrastructure needed for charging points and the extra power required to supply them.

Even more alarmingly, a report in the journal Nature suggests that because electric cars are heavier than other vehicles, they will likely kill more occupants of other vehicles in traffic accidents.

Just last week, a report by the Commons Transport Committee found that taxpayers face an eye-watering £35 billion bill to plug the gap created by the switch to electric cars. Pictured George Eustice

As for climate change, electric cars will do little to arrest it. So for now, at least, they are one of the least effective and most expensive ways to cut carbon — and economically they are a bad bet.

Just last week, a report by the Commons Transport Committee found that taxpayers face an eye-watering £35 billion bill to plug the gap created by the switch to electric cars. At present, owners of such cars pay neither fuel duty, which nets £28 billion every year, nor vehicle exercise duty, which brings in £7 billion. The revenue is spent on schools, hospitals and other priorities such as the police, as well as fixing roads.

And not only do they reduce government revenue, they also demand costly subsidies. In Germany, the subsidy is above ¤10,000 (£8,460) for a fully electric car, but that still drives only one sale in eight.

Stickers on hundreds of out-of-date CAZ signs will cost more than £3m contract
Date published: 28 February 2022

The Clean Air Zone (CAZ) was due to start on 30 May, but has been paused

The cost of putting stickers on hundreds of out-of-date Clean Air Zone (CAZ) signs will not be covered by the £3m contract paid for by Greater Manchester.

Transport bosses have confirmed that the £3m contract for signage awarded to McCann in September will not cover the cost of the 1,194 stickers needed.

It comes after the Clean Air Zone which was due to come into effect in May was paused as the deadline to meet air quality standards moves to 2026.

Greater Manchester has until July to submit a new scheme to the government.

However, of the 1,309 CAZ signs which have been installed across the city-region so far, 1,194 reference the original opening date of May 30, 2022.

Stickers must now be installed on all of the signs referencing the wrong date – but this work will not be covered by the original £3m contract for CAZ signage.

1194 signs show the incorrect date
A Clean Air Greater Manchester spokesperson said: “Following a competitive tender, McCann and Company Limited was awarded a £3.04m contract for services related to signage in support of the Greater Manchester Clean Air Zone.

“Stickers were not part of the original requirement of the contract and work is ongoing to finalise the costs for installing the stickers on the affected Clean Air Zone signs. This work is due to start in the coming weeks.

“Greater Manchester is now working on a new plan for clean air with the government and it is important that people understand that charging will not take place as originally planned from 30 May 2022.”

Daily charges for lorries, buses and taxis which are not licensed locally were due to start later this year with more vehicles to be charged from June 2023.

But the government agreed to postpone the deadline for Greater Manchester to bring pollution levels below legal limits from 2024 to 2026 after issues with the global supply chain dramatically raising the price of vehicles came to light.

A ‘substantially different’ scheme must now be designed and agreed by July.

According to a report to Greater Manchester leaders, the scope of the review will include boundaries, discounts, exemptions, charges and vehicles affected.

The report to the Greater Manchester Air Quality Administration Committee also addresses concerns about the financial support available to businesses.

Funding for HGV and bus replacement and retrofit will remain open and will be offered to small businesses as well from February 28, according to the report.

Those who have already received funding will not have to return any money.

Arrangements are put in place for people who bought new vehicles but cannot access funding now allowing authorties to award cash on case-by-case basis.

So far, 422 successful applications for discounts and exemptions have been submitted, but this process has been paused while the scheme is reviewed.

Of the 870 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras which were to be set up to identify non-compliant vehicles, 406 have been installed so far.

It is now proposed that they will gather ‘real time’ data to inform the review.

The Greater Manchester Air Quality Administration Committee are meeting today to discuss the next steps of the Clean Air Zone review.

Fury as Sadiq Khan takes his war on motorists to the commuter belt: Mayor wants to expand £12.50-a-day Ultra Low Emission Zone charge even to outer London boroughs - raking in £1.7million a DAY from fed-up drivers motorists
The Mayor has unveiled new plan to extend expensive Ultra Low Emission Zone
If it goes ahead it could potentially see £1.7million a day raked in from motorists
Motorists and car experts called the plan 'deeply unhelpful' after announcement
By DAN SALES FOR MAILONLINE

PUBLISHED: 14:12, 4 March 2022 | UPDATED: 18:58, 4 March 2022

Sadid Khan wants to expand the expensive Ultra Low Emission Zone over the whole of London in a huge move expected to infuriate motorists.

Mr Khan has asked Transport for London - of which he is the chair - to consult on extending the scheme's boundary from the North and South Circular Roads to the whole of Greater London by the end of next year.

Drivers of vehicles which do not comply with minimum emissions standards are charged a daily fee of £12.50 for entering the Ulez area.

The mayor's office estimated that 135,000 vehicles would be affected on an average day if the boundaries are widened as planned, potentially raking in £1.7million a day.

It also appears to signal the end of earlier proposals for a Clean Air Charge or the Greater London Boundary Charge as options instead.

Sadiq Khan's plans for the huge new Ulez zone will leave more motorists out of pocket

The Mayor has unveiled new plan to extend expensive Ultra Low Emission Zone today

If huge Ulez zone goes ahead it could potentially see £1.7million a day raked in from motorists

Ian Plummer, Commercial Director at Auto Trader, which operates the UK's largest automotive marketplace, slated the plan.

He said: 'This feels like a deeply unhelpful move given previous ULEZ announcements have made little difference to people's car buying intentions. The scheme is designed to encourage people to drive greener vehicles, which is all well and good, but when the majority of people can't afford to buy an EV at the moment it's likely to make little difference to the Mayor's greener ambitions. Until electric vehicles are more affordable we are not likely to see mass adoption, most new EVs carry a 20% price premium when compared to an ICE vehicle, so unless you live in the most affluent postcodes they will remain out of reach.

'If the mayor is trying to encourage people to drive greener cars, people need incentives to change, we've seen the stick approach time and time again and it just won't make people change cars.'

Whether or not a vehicle is liable for the charge depends on how much nitrogen dioxide (NO2) it emits.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan delivered the keynote speech at Forest Hill school this morning

The rules for cars travelling in the Ulez zone

NO2 damages lungs and can exacerbate existing conditions such as asthma and lung and heart disease.

For diesel cars to avoid the charge they must generally have been registered after September 2015, while most petrol models registered from 2005 are also exempt.

Mr Khan has ruled out introducing a Clean Air Charge, which would have affected drivers of all but the cleanest vehicles.

He will also not go ahead with a proposal to charge drivers of vehicles registered outside London for entering the capital.

Mr Khan, who announced his plan to expand the Ulez on a visit to Forest Hill School in south-east London, said: 'In weighing up the different options, the rising cost of living was a key consideration for me.

'Because at a time when people's budgets are under pressure, I'm not willing to ask people to pay more unless I'm absolutely convinced it's justified to save lives and protect the health of Londoners.

'I believe the proposal to extend the Ulez London-wide will have the biggest effect on emissions and congestion relative to the potential financial impact on Londoners as a whole.

'We are also proposing to introduce the biggest scrappage scheme feasible to help Londoners on low incomes, disabled Londoners and businesses.'

The Ulez was only expanded from the Congestion Charge area to the North and South Circular roads in October 2021.

But Mr Khan said there is 'still far too much toxic air pollution permanently damaging the lungs of young Londoners and leading to thousands of deaths every year'.

The mayor has also asked TfL to explore how motorists can be charged on a per mile basis depending on how polluting their vehicles are, the level of congestion in the area and access to public transport.

But a City Hall document notes the required technology for such a scheme is 'still years away from being ready'.

RAC head of roads policy Nicholas Lyes said expanding the Ulez is 'preferable to the other charges that the mayor previously mooted'.

But he warned it is 'vital' that Londoners have 'enough time to upgrade to compliant vehicles'.

Andy Marchant, traffic expert at location technology firm TomTom said low emission zones disincentivise drivers of polluting vehicles from entering cities, but warned they will become 'less important' as electric vehicles (EVs) become more widespread.

'When EVs become the norm, there won't be any emissions-based restrictions preventing them from entering cities,' he said.

'There's the possibility that this will lead to an increase in inner-city congestion, even if it generates zero tailpipe emissions.'

Considering World War 3 could start at any moment- with nuclear bombs - I think the Greater Manchester clean air zone will be the least of our worries. On second thoughts, maybe bombing certain areas of the UK to smithereens isn’t a bad thing at all….

Disastrous.

Apparently they have a name for this Global Warming lunacy - Net Zero.

You probably knew before I did, but I don't watch television.

Of course, every other zionist occupied country will be doing its own Net Zero.

British households are already buckling under the increasing costs of energy. It is estimated that more than 10% of households in the UK are now being forced to choose between heating and eating. And that number is rising, fast!

We have huge energy resources here in the U.K. that we can use for much cheaper energy bills! Right now, about half of our energy supply is being imported from abroad, including from Russia and the Middle East. We used to be a net exporter of energy but politicians over the last decade chose to ignore our own gas, instead sending our money and jobs overseas.

Over the spring and summer of 2022, we will be holding public meetings and rallies across the UK. With the help of an exceptional list of speakers, our aim is to galvanise the great British public into pushing back against a Net Zero agenda that will destroy British jobs, whilst making us poorer and colder.

Drivers who have never visited Bristol and live hundreds of miles away have been hit with warning letters due to faulty cameras in a low-emissions zone.

One motorist from Liverpool believed his car's number plate had been cloned and quickly informed the police after receiving a letter from Bristol City Council.

The City Council admitted its Clean Air Zone cameras, which monitor which cars pass through the designated area, may be misreading registrations.
