This comet appears to be of interstellar origin too, just like Oumuamua. Or possibly something pulled in from the Oort Cloud by our sun's gravity.

The astronomers are still fine-tuning the estimates of the orbital elements for C2019/Q4 Borisov. The most recently published set appear below. The determination for these elements involved 253 observations made over 21 days. The orbital elements are from JPL's Horizons webpage. The calculations are by me.

HEC : heliocentric ecliptic coordinates

Right ascension and declination are measured in geocentric celestial coordinates.

Angles are subtended by the object in the middle; the two objects on the ends are at the far end of the "rays." That is: Angle sun-Earth-Borisov is the angular distance between the sun and Borisov, to an observer on Earth.

2I/Borisov is now confirmed as interstellar in origin. One proposal has the comet originating from Kruger 60, a binary star system 13.15 LY from the Sun in the constellation Cepheus. These red dwarf stars orbit each other every 44.6 years.

Interstellar Comet Borisov Shines in Incredible New Hubble Photos

Quote:
Two new "ghostly" images catch the first observed interstellar comet whizzing by the sun and in front of a distant spiral galaxy on the object's way out of our solar system.

On Nov. 16 and Monday (Dec. 9) NASA's Hubble Space Telescope snapped two incredible and ghostly new photos of interstellar comet 2I/Borisov, the first interstellar comet ever observed. Amateur astronomer Gennady Borisov first spotted the comet on Aug. 30.

Borisov's discovery was the first of its kind. While Oumuamua, an interstellar asteroid, was discovered in 2017, this object, also known as C/2019/Q4, is the first-ever interstellar comet that humans have spotted.
