'Ferrari of trains' puts Italy on fast track
Later this month, Italy will unveil what has been dubbed the most luxurious and modern high-speed train in Europe.
Described as the "Ferrari of trains", and traveling as fast as a Formula One car, the launch of the Italo will mark the end of Italy's state-run operator's monopoly on rail travel in the country.
The Milan-to-Naples route will also be the first privatized high-speed route in Europe, offering an alternative model to government-funded networks in other countries.

Amazing Video: 'Jet Man' stunts alongside fighter jets over Alps
Amazing pictures from Switzerland show where "jetman" Yves Rossy gave this incredible flying display, using a tailor-made jet pack. The aviation enthusiast leapt from a helicopter and performed a series of aerial acrobatics above the Alps. He then joined two jet planes in a synchronized flight. To synchronise their flight paths the jets reduced their speed to 220 kilometres per hour (137 miles per hour), which put their engines at a point close to stalling. Rossy's previous aerial feats include flying the English Channel and looping the loop around a hot-air balloon.

Aryan Genius: The Future by Airbus - Concept plane cabin
Airbus invites the passengers of 2050 to discover its Concept Cabin - a whole new flying experience inspired by nature. Charles Champion, Airbus Executive Vice President Engineering, says: "Our research shows that passengers of 2050 will expect a seamless travel experience while also caring for the environment. The Airbus Concept Cabin is designed with that in mind, and shows that the journey can be as much a voyage of discovery as the destination. Whichever flight experience is chosen, the passenger of 2050 will step out of the Airbus Concept Cabin feeling revitalized and enriched."
However you will still have you're balls man handled by a TSA Negro before flight !

[Spenglerian] Viking First Views of Mars
Thrust from a Titan 3/Centaur rocket launched NASA's Viking 1 spacecraft on a 505-million-mile journey to Mars on Aug. 20, 1975. Viking 2 followed three weeks later.
Each mission included both an orbiter and a lander, and all four components accomplished successes. On July 20, 1976, the Viking 1 lander returned the first photograph taken on the surface of Mars. That lander in a region called Chryse Planitia operated until Nov. 13, 1982. The Viking 2 lander operated in the Utopia Planitia region from Sept. 3, 1976 to April 11, 1980. The orbiters sent home images of the entire planet at resolutions of 300 meters or less per pixel.

Alien's View of Our Solar System
From NASA Astrophysics... a supercomputer simulation shows how alien astronomers might have seen the formation of our solar system. Dust ground off icy bodies in the Kuiper Belt, the cold-storage zone that includes Pluto and millions of other objects, creates a faint infrared disk potentially visible to alien astronomers looking for planets around the sun. Neptune's gravitational imprint on the dust is always detectable in new simulations of how this dust moves through the solar system. By ramping up the collision rate, the simulations show how the distant view of the solar system might have changed over its history.
