So, I was just—I felt humiliated.”

The primetime star added that he “thought then” and still believes that the “election was not on the level,” so he approached Trump’s team to provide him proof that “the election was rigged.” This resulted in the ex-president’s campaign sending Carlson’s show a list of dead people who supposedly voted in the 2020 election. However, the Fox host’s report on “dead voters” soon blew up in his face, as most of the examples he listed on air proved to be alive.

“Well, it turned out some of them were still alive,” Carlson continued. “And I was so mad by the incompetence of that campaign, which was completely incompetent. I mean, completely you know, I’m like the one guy who’s open-minded about the election being unfair. And that’s what they send me? Anyway. Whatever. I was mad. That was a moment in time.”

As early as 2021, white supremacists were praising Carlson’s promotion of the Great Replacement theory, the racist, antisemitic and xenophobic conspiracy that posits that white Americans are at risk of being disenfranchised by non-white immigrants, sometimes described euphemistically by Carlson as “demographic change” or “replacing the population.” He has elevated the conspiracy theory that Democrats are plotting to replace “legacy American” voters with immigrants in more than 400 episodes of his show and discussed the falling white birth rate and shifting gender roles, another key component of the conspiracy, in over 200 episodes.

We believe that words matter and tha this kind of rhetoric fuels rampant hate and emboldens extremists. Such hate-filed and noxious language leads, in our opinion, to the normalization of such rehetoric, to the spreading of similar hate speech, and to people using this language as the justification for commiting heinous acts of violence, including the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the mass murder in Christchurch targeting Muslim people, the targeting of Latin Americans in El Paso, and now, the racially-motivated attack claiming the lives of Black supermarket shoppers in Buffalo. This adoption of the Great Replacment theory was clearly present in the Buffalo shooter’s manifesto – along with his hatred of Black people, Jews, immigrants, and other people of color.

Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom of reach. We should not give those who promote extremism and conspiracy theories a free platform to amplify their inflammatory views. Repeatedly, we’ve seen the link between online hate and offline violence, whereby users access and engage with content promoting hate and violence on platforms—especially those with minimal content moderation and policies—and then sow their grievances through violent ends.

Tucker Carlson Tonight producer Abby Grossberg is suing Carlson and the Fox Network over sexual behavior in the workplace, despite never having met Carlson in person.

The Spectator reports that lawyers for Grossberg have confirmed that she never actually met Carlson. "Like many on the [Tucker Carlson Tonight] staff, Abby never met Tucker Carlson in person because he taped the show from his personal studios in Maine and Florida, and he did not visit Fox's NY HQ during her time there," said one of Grossberg's attorneys Kimberly A. Catala.

Grossberg was the head of booking from July 2022 until she was recently placed on leave in March. She "alleges that Carlson encouraged a hostile and sexist workplace environment among his employees. Grossberg says she was subjected to bullying, antisemitic comments and sexism by staff while working out of Fox’s Manhattan office," Spectator reports.

Despite never having met Carlson, Grossberg told rival network MSNBC that "Tucker and his executive producer Justin Wells, who was also fired, really were responsible for breaking me and making my life a living hell."

Tucker Carlson suggested he's ready to go harder than ever against "current orthodoxies" in his first public statement after being fired from Fox News.

"Kind and decent people, people who really care about what's true. And a bunch of hilarious people, also. A lot of those. It's gotta be the majority of the population, even now. Though he never addressed Fox News directly, Carlson finished his statement by saying that America's "current orthodoxies won't last" and there "aren't many places left" where one can find "Americans saying true things."

"Both political parties, and their donors, have reached consensus on what benefits them, and they actively collude to shut down any conversation about it. Suddenly, the United States looks very much like a one-party state. That's a depressing realization, but it's not permanent. Our current orthodoxies won't last. They're brain dead. Nobody actually believes them. Hardly anyone's life is improved by them. This moment is too inherently ridiculous to continue. And so it won't," Carlson said. "The people in charge know this; that's why they're hysterical and aggressive. They're afraid. They've given up persuasion, they're resorting to force. But it won't work. When honest people say what's true, calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful. At the same time, the liars, who have been trying to silence them, shrink and they become weaker. That's the iron law of the universe. True things prevail. Where can you still find Americans saying true things? There aren't many places left, but there are some. And that's enough.
