Captain, Franz Joseph designed the ship crooked
Even though I've seen this scene from the episode 'Spock's Brain' many times, I never noticed the main viewscreen is offset slightly left from the center of the helm/navigation console. Why doesn't Mr. Sulu notice this? Above his Starfleet pay grade, obviously. He's only paid to fire phasers and confirm warp speed factors to Capt. Kirk.
Hey, Shatner really did go into space - for 15 minutes.

Yes, I know. But I wrote out his thought musings as a means to show that what we think will never happen sometimes does. But if he had been asked his chances of ever going into space atop a real rocket back then he probably would've said no, even if he lived long enough. Which just goes to show you how things can dramatically change within the span of one human lifetime.

Well, the first planet is a barren rock...

Probably all barren tidally-locked planets lacking atmospheres, being the TRAPPIST star is a red dwarf similar to Proxima Centauri subject to solar flares that bathes its planets in radiation, stripping away any atmospheres unless TRAPPIST-1d, e and f in the so-called habitable zone have magnetic fields that might prevent this. Any Earth-like planets, so many astronomers and astrophysicists including Dr. Becky, I believe, say chances are better for them orbiting G-type yellow stars like our Sun, or K-types. But no one can say for sure just yet.

An actual starship would probably look more like the nuclear fusion-powered Enzmann Echolance than the USS Enterprise. The above picture looks like a Star Trek episode where warp-drive starships have caught up with an early sub-light vessel launched in the late 21st/early 22nd century and escorting or towing it to its intended destination. Similar to the episode 'For The World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky' where the Enterprise encounters the alien asteroid ship Yonada that had been in flight for 10,000 years.
The TRAPPIST-1 system is 40 light-years away. Even travelling at 50 percent of light velocity would take 80 years or longer when you consider accelerating up that speed then decelerating to achieve orbit around a planet in the system. This was also the premise in the 2016 movie Passengers. The fictional planet of Homestead II was 60 light-years from Earth and the starship Avalon was on a 120-year-long voyage there.
