In recent news, Ireland has passed the vote on the recognition of gay marriage, a blow to the strongly Catholic country, which has well held on to national identity in the face of liberalism.

Unless in specific interest groups, Gay Marriage is no longer a heavy subject, and has been spreading worldwide, giving people motivation to divert to other sexual orientations. Homosexuality is a deviation from heterosexuality, something almost universally needed for reproduction. Heterosexuality is favourable not only religiously, but also biologically. But what gave fire to progress the abomination that was once considered a mental illness

Sigmund Freud is undoubtedly a pioneer of psychology, specifically psychoanalysis. But what most people don’t know is that he wrote numerous times that homosexuality and paranoia are inseparable. Most psychologists back then even agreed homosexuality was an illness that needed to be treated.

According to the American Psychiatric Association, until 1974 homosexuality was a mental illness. What scientific breakthrough did this national community discover to fundamentally change their analysis of homosexuality? Actually, nothing at all. The gay community gained enough followers and popular support that it was able to willingly come out of the closet, and began protesting and pushing the community to reclassify them. Having more important work that needed doing, the APA accepted their demands to be free from the outburst.

APA became even more ignorant of their actions, continuing to remove disorders by popular demand, not by scientific analysis. Transgenderism, OCD, and combinations of disorders caused problems to diagnosed people. The patients were told “Well you no longer have A, but now its called B.” Then, patients were prescribed a new medication or treatment. An illegitimate organization such as the APA should not be accepted, instead reprimanded for straying from appropriate scientific procedure.

America’s influence on the world has caught the attention of other nations, asking the States to clean up their act and not corrupt the rest of the world. With non-scientific evidence being used for their conclusions, anything can be fabricated. The APA is taking a turn for the worse. The reasoning for removing the mental illness status for homosexuals was that “they were happy, just as heterosexuals.” But obviously, if something simply makes you happy, that doesn’t mean it's right. On this same basis, pedophiles are using the LGBT tactic of protesting to gain acceptance.

Pedophilia has already been granted protected status by the Federal Government. The Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act lists “sexual orientation” as a protected class. Linda Harvey, of Mission America, claimed that the push for pedophiles to have equal rights will grow more and more common, in unison with the LGBT groups. “It’s all part of a plan to introduce sex to children at younger and younger ages; to convince them that normal friendship is actually a sexual attraction.” What’s even more disgusting is that even professionals such as Milton Diamond, a University of Hawaii professor and director of the Pacific Center for Sex and Society, stated that child pornography could be beneficial to society because, “Potential sex offenders use child pornography as a substitute for sex against children.”

Laws concerning pedophiles may even be banished, such as the ones requiring pedophiles to live a certain distance from a school. With America’s hypersexualization, and growing multi-billionaire dollar pornographic industry, even more deviant sexual behaviors may be produced and grown. What will be next to be accepted in the future, if what we consider common today is a sick and cruel thing to stand for? How much more filth will America produce to expose to the world?

Ireland set to join EU Commission action against Hungary’s ‘Russian-style’ anti-LGBT law

Memo will go to Government at end of month seeking approval for rare action against another EU state.

The Government is set to join the EU Commission’s court case against Hungary’s contentious laws banning the portrayal of gay people in content aimed at under-18s.

Senior figures in Government including gay Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Tánaiste Micheál Martin have strongly criticised the law which was introduced in 2021, and have portrayed it as a “Russian style” anti-LGBT propaganda law.

A memo will go to the Government by the end of the month seeking approval for Ireland to join an infringement case being taken by the commission to the European Court of Justice. The memo will be taken by Mr Martin, the Minister for Foreign Affairs. If approved, this would be the first time Ireland has joined the commission in such a legal action. It is rare for member states to join actions against member states.

It is expected that Ireland will be the first of a number of EU states to join the action with Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands expected to seek their inclusion in the action in the coming weeks. Last month, Ireland supported a declaration by the Benelux countries that expressed grave concern about the Hungarian parliament’s adoption of new laws that discriminate against the LGBTQI+ community in Hungary.

The Benelux-led declaration criticised Hungary’s unacceptable use of child protection as a pretext for introducing measures that violate freedom of expression as enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and unjustifiably target the LGBTQI+ community in Hungary.

At the EU Council meeting in June 2021, Mr Martin – who was then taoiseach – raised the matter with Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orbán and warned him the law would harm young people and suppress their human rights. “I said very clearly to Viktor Orbán that your law will harm young people, will suppress the rights of young people,” Mr Martin told journalists.

There were heated exchanges during the course of the meeting between Mr Orbán and other EU leaders. Mr Martin said at the time the EU leaders made it clear to the Hungarian prime minister that he had “crossed a line” and there could be implications for Hungary’s receipt of EU funds.

However, Hungary has remained defiant in the face of criticism from other EU countries. A total of 18 governments have publicly signed the declaration against the law. Most of the states that have not signed are in the eastern part of the EU. The Hungarian government said last week that it would defend its law in the courts. On Facebook, its minister for justice Judit Varga argued that education was an issue that was not within the competency of the EU but was for individual member states to decide.

The Government intervention came as gay Minister for Children Roderic O’Gorman disclosed the level of personal homophobic abuse he has received online. Mr O’Gorman told RTÉ's The Week in Politics that posts alleging he is a paedophile and child groomer have to be removed from his social media accounts every day. “I’m aware that right now online and in various public for a, a lot of people who are gay or advocating on LGBT+ issues are facing vicious abuse,” he said.
