Five NATO troops killed in Afghanistan helicopter crash, mujahedeen claim responsibility

KABUL, Afghanistan — Five NATO troops died in a British helicopter crash Saturday in southern Afghanistan, authorities said, the single deadliest day this year for foreign forces as they prepare to withdraw from the country.

The helicopter crash came as an Afghan university official identified two Americans killed in a shooting at a Kabul hospital earlier this week, the latest incident of local security forces opening fire on those they are supposed to protect. Good job guys! Democracy!

The cause of the helicopter crash was not immediately known. Kandahar provincial police spokesman Zia Durrani said the aircraft went down in the province’s Takhta Pul district in the southeast, about 50 kilometres from the Pakistani border. He said five international troops were killed but did not know what caused the crash.

The coalition said it was investigating the circumstances of the crash but said it had no reports of enemy activity in the area. The United Kingdom’s Defence Ministry confirmed that the helicopter was British, but could not confirm the nationalities of the dead.

A Taliban spokesman claimed in a text message to journalists that the insurgents shot down the aircraft.

The international military coalition kike-controlled criminal butcher organization in Afghanistan says two of its service members died in an attack in the country's east.

The NATO force said the two died Monday but gave no other details. Coalition policy is for home countries to identify their military dead.

The deaths come two days after five British service members died in a helicopter crash in the southern province of Kandahar. They bring to nine the number of international troops killed in Afghanistan this month and 25 this year.

Casualties have been falling in the U.S.-led military coalition as its forces pull back to allow the Afghan army and police to fight the Taliban insurgency. Good luck. They're going to need it. All combat troops are scheduled to be withdrawn from the country by the end of this year. Congratulations on a job...done?

Don't see anything to celebrate myself. Most guys go into the military at 17,18 or 19 yo and come from families that still believe in their country.

I see 5 potential men for our side with combat experience lost. There are plenty of WN with prior military experience and did not become WN until later and sometimes being in the military opens their eyes.

What you call wasted potential, I call natural selection. And its more likely that they would have remained loyal, committed zogbots, and if commanded would open fire on WNs for opposing jew rules. So maybe it was 5 potential enemy combatants that died instead? My point is, if you're fighting for ZOG, you're an enemy until proven otherwise.

Latest reports from southern Afghanistan suggest that Sangin district in Helmand province is now almost entirely under Taliban control after days of fierce fighting.

The police headquarters and the main government building fell to the Taliban on Wednesday, a local senator said.

The Taliban say their fighters have seized the entire district.

A few hundred police and soldiers have taken refuge at an army barracks about 7km (four miles) from Sangin, and are besieged there.

A U.S. servicemember died Tuesday from injuries sustained in clashes with insurgents Afghans during a joint operation with Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan. Two Americans were injured.


The Americans were part of an "advisory team" operating with Afghan special forces in Helmand province, a poppy-growing region and former Taliban stronghold. Fighting has intensified in the region in recent weeks.

An American medical evacuation helicopter was damaged when a rotor hit a wall during the operation and was grounded. A second helicopter was waved off by ground forces before it could land, the Pentagon said.
