Here's a recent article about one of the many Albanian crime cases from Italy:

Elona Kalesha, who massacred her parents-in-law and put their bodies in a suitcase, receives a severe sentence in Italy

The High Court of Florence in Italy has sentenced the Albanian Elona Kalesha, who is accused of the massacre of her ex-boyfriend's parents, to 30 years in prison.

Shpëtim and Teuta Pasho disappeared in October 2015 and their dismembered bodies were found in December 2020 in a suitcase. Elona allegedly trapped the spouses, who came to Italy to see their son Taulant.

They were dismembered in Italy and put the bodies in a suitcase, the Pasho couple discovered the betrayal of the bride, Elona Kalesha was pregnant

The latter, imprisoned in Sollicciano for drug crimes, was due to be released from prison on November 2, 2015. His parents disappeared the day before, and evidence shows that the last person to see them was Elona.

More on the Albanian mafia's influence in Latin America:

Quote:
Ecuador’s Crime Wave and Its Albanian Connection

BY CAROLINA ANDRADE AND MAC MARGOLIS AND ROBERT MUGGAH | APRIL 12, 2023

Criminal groups from the Balkans are helping turn the country into a major hub for illegal exports.

Mariana Miller/Agencia Press South/Getty Images

GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador — Even in a region known for record-setting violence, Ecuador’s recent spiral into lawlessness and bloodshed stands out. Deadly crime in the Andean nation has now hit historic highs, with a national homicide rate surpassing that of Brazil and Mexico, long ranked among Latin America’s most murderous countries. Little wonder President Guillermo Lasso’s approval ratings have tanked, fueling calls for his impeachment–sparked by corruption allegations linking the president’s brother-in-law to drug traffickers. (Lasso and his brother-in-law have denied the accusations.)

At the center of Ecuador’s troubles is the bottomless global demand for cocaine. Thanks in part to Balkan gangs, Ecuador now serves as both a center for transshipment and export of cocaine from Colombia and Peru. The crisis is acute in Esmeraldas, on the Colombian border, and especially in the port city of Guayaquil, the country’s gateway to the world.
(...)
Albanian organized crime started migrating to Ecuador in the 1990s, lured by the prospect of joining forces with thriving local cartels and relatively lax border controls. Until recently, Albanians could freely enter Ecuador without a visa. That laissez faire turnstile policy ended when Ecuador imposed tighter visa requirements in 2020.

Roughly 33% of the cocaine seized in Ecuador in 2021 was destined for European markets, compared to just 9% in 2019. Notably, the Balkans are a key new hub in this lucrative intercontinental trade (worth $10 billion in 2017), with Albanian gangs playing an increasingly prominent role on both sides of the equator.
(...)
The Albanian mafia resorts to a multitude of ruses to traffic drugs, from using front companies to abscond cocaine in banana, tea and shrimp shipments to cloning customs seals to disguise breached containers. Little of this would be possible without a wink and a nod from officials on the take.

Ecuadorian intelligence has long kept the Albanian mafia under watch. In the 2014 “Operation Balkans,” they found that two alpha crime syndicates – the Azemi and Rexhepi gangs – infiltrated port operations to acquire packing lists and hand-pick containers bound for Europe. Albanians detained in the operation were also identified as the scheme’s financiers and custodians.

Operation Balkans ended with the arrest of ring leader Remzi Azemi and 11 other gang members, including Albanian and Ecuadorian nationals. Ecuadorian police and prosecutors accused the organization of stockpiling cocaine in Guayaquil bound for Europe. Azemi escaped custody a month later, resurfaced in Europe in 2017, and was later arrested in Germany.

Azemi still faces criminal charges in Ecuador, including for the murder of his Ecuadorian spouse and the Albanian-Montenegrin fugitive Fadil Kacanic.

Ecuadoran authorities have yet to divulge their findings in the case or even to acknowledge the presence of foreign nationals with links to the brutal Balkan mafia. Two different intelligence sources consulted went so far as to suggest “high-level” collusion between the Ecuadorian police and the Albanian mafia, one of whose gang members reportedly died at the hands of the police. While those reports remain unconfirmed, they leave little doubt about the dire turn for law, order and public safety in Ecuador –and beyond.

As I've said before, there are so many news stories about Albanian criminals from continental Europe that are never reported in English-language media outlets, so in most cases I don't post them in this thread. However, here's one about three Albanian child-rapists in Italy that was published last February (in Italian, but I'll post an English-language translation):

Sexual violence: Albanian fugitive for 13 years arrested

Accused of having abused a minor together with other people

(ANSA) - COTRONEI, FEBRUARY 23 - Staff of the Mobile Squad and the Immigration Office of the Crotone Police Headquarters arrested a 37-year-old Albanian citizen in Cotronei who had been on the run since 2013 after evading a 9-year sentence imprisonment because found guilty of gang sexual violence, aggravated by the use of weapons.

The facts date back to the summer of 2009, the year in which the Albanian citizen, together with two compatriots, had abused a girl also of Albanian nationality under the age of 14.

Albanian boss of brothel allegedly visited by rugby star Lawrence Dallagio escapes being deported after judge hails him as 'clever and industrious'

By ANDY JEHRING

An Albanian jailed for running a brothel allegedly frequented by rugby star Lawrence Dallaglio has escaped deportation after a judge described him as 'clever and industrious'.

Kristian Kodra, 25, received two years for operating the criminal establishment that supplied cocaine and prostitutes.

His gang made at least £400,000 in the six months before police raided the Georgian townhouse in Holborn, central London, in July 2019.

Scale of Albanian Channel migrants crime wave in the UK revealed

Eighty people have been jailed for a total of 130 years in the first four months of 2023 alone, figures show

By Charles Hymas, HOME AFFAIRS EDITOR

The faces of some of the Albanian migrants currently in jail for crimes such as murder, manslaughter and producing cannabis

Eighty Albanian migrants have been sentenced to 130 years in jail in the first four months of this year alone, as the scale of the crime wave from the surge in Channel crossings can be revealed for the first time.

They have been convicted of murder, manslaughter, rape, violent disorder, firearms offences, kidnap, causing death by dangerous driving, burglary and producing cannabis in gang-run farms in houses and disused industrial sites.

The cumulative total of 130 years in jail will cost the UK taxpayer at least £20 million pounds to house each offender for the allotted time, at an average cost of £57,000 per prisoner per year.

The disclosure was based on a detailed analysis of every court case in England and Wales in the four months since Jan 1 2023. Last year, a record 12,301 Albanians reached the UK on small boats, representing a quarter of the total of 45,755.

The figures came as Robert Jenrick, the immigration minister, began a five-day tour of north Africa and Europe to boost co-operation with other countries, in the hope of striking deals similar to Albania to stem the flow of migrants and counter people-smuggling gangs.

Albanian migrants who come to the UK are likely safe in their own country, cross-party group of MPs finds

45,755 migrants crossed Channel in 2022, with more than quarter from Albania

By JACK HARDY
PUBLISHED: 01:09 BST, 12 June 2023 | UPDATED: 01:16 BST, 12 June 2023

Albanian migrants who come to the UK are unlikely to be at risk in their own country or require asylum here, a cross-party group of MPs has found.

Of the 45,755 people who crossed the Channel in small boats in 2022, 12,301 – or more than a quarter – came from Albania and most claimed asylum after arriving.

The Commons home affairs committee found little justification for the Home Office's acceptance of 51 per cent of Albanian asylum claims up to June 2022 – a far higher proportion than elsewhere in Europe.

A report by the committee said: 'Albania is a safe country, it is not at war and is a candidate country to join the EU.

'There is no clear basis for the UK to routinely accept thousands of asylum applications from Albanian citizens.'

The surge in Channel crossings has reportedly led to a rise in crime in Britain, with 80 Albanian migrants sentenced for offences including murder, rape and kidnap in the first four months of 2023 alone.

The National Crime Agency has previously revealed that a 'significant number' of Albanian Channel migrants work for drug gangs once in the UK and send hundreds of millions of pounds to Albania every year.

Mass Migration is Killing Whites

WHITE-PAPERS
JUN 20, 2023

As a recent Politico EU article put it: Europe is Awash with Drugs.

Finland has the highest drug related death rate among youths in Europe. While Scotland leads in overall fatal overdose rates, and countries like Sweden are also ‘battling’ for the top spot in the drug death rankings.

Albanians have turned Belgium into the cocaine capital of Europe and the 5th most cocaine infested nation in the drug seizure rankings. While in the Netherlands the ethnic Moroccans have a network nown as the ‘Morco Mafia’ which smuggles drugs from South America to the nation and then ont othe rest of Europe.

In the last 2 years the UK Border Force and police forces have seized the most cocaine and ketamine since recordkeeping began. It is no coincidence that tens of thousands of Ablanians have arrived to the island nation during that same timeframe.

Albania drug trafficking network dismantled by European police

Reuters
June 23, 2023 5:33 PM GMT+2

BRUSSELS, June 23 (Reuters) - European police forces have dismantled a violent Albanian drug trafficking network that spanned Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, the Europol police body said on Friday.

Europol worked with police in the three countries to bring down the network, resulting in 35 suspects being arrested and more than 1 million euros ($1.1 million) of cash seized.

"The criminal network is allegedly responsible for the large-scale trafficking of cocaine and cannabis from South America to Europe and its further distribution across the European Union," Europol said.

"They are also known for the use of violence, including episodes of torture and kidnapping for the purpose of extortion."

Living the high life back in Britain, the Albanian burglar who has already been deported TWICE

Dorian Puka has managed to evade authorities for over two years

By JACOB DIRNHUBER FOR THE DAILY MAIL and ANDY JEHRING FOR THE DAILY MAIL
PUBLISHED: 22:06 BST, 2 July 2023 | UPDATED: 11:50 BST, 3 July 2023

Standing on a luxury Cornish spa hotel's golf course dressed in a scruffy animal print shirt, cargo shorts and sandals, Dorian Puka strikes an incongruous figure.

But it is not just the questionable choice of attire among the well-heeled holidaymakers of Carlyon Bay that is out of place.

For the prolific Albanian burglar has twice been deported for a string of crimes across suburban London and should not be in Britain at all.

Yet somehow Puka, 28, has managed to evade the authorities to live a life of luxury in this country for over two years since the Home Office was first informed he was back.

He cannot be said to have been living under the radar either since Border Force was told that he had returned in January 2021. Pictures from his open social media accounts show him driving around the capital in Porsches, Mercedes, BMWs and Range Rovers.

Greater Manchester: Albanian gang ran £9M drugs ring

6th July

By Joe Harrigan Chief Reporter

A month-long police investigation into “hardened criminal gangs” has led to more than 50 arrests, 10,000 cannabis plants seized worth millions of pounds.

The Greater Manchester Police operation was aimed at tackling what the force calls “Albanian organised crime groups” linked to growing cannabis and money laundering across the region.

The probe also involved other forces from across England and Wales, designed to identify the gang’s key players and help those who have been exploited and forced to live and work on cannabis farms.

Raids were carried out in the Tameside area (Image: GMP)

Detective Inspector Paul Crompton, of GMP Serious Organised Crime Group, said: “Hardened criminal gangs, involved in some of the most serious and heinous crimes, use the production and sale of cannabis as a fundamental part of their criminal enterprises.

“I understand that people have varying views on cannabis, but I would urge people who view it as just a bag of weed to think twice about the wider implications and the exploitation and violence that is undeniably linked to the cultivation of cannabis.”

More than 50 arrests were carried out (Image: GMP)

The 10,000 cannabis plants seized came to a street value of around £9million, while officers also seized around £24,000 in cash.

In total 53 people were arrested, predominantly for cultivation of cannabis and abstracting electricity, but a series of other offences including money laundering, possession of drugs with intent to supply and possession of weapons.

Nearly 700 migrants land in Britain as smiling asylum seekers make Albania's controversial eagle hand sign and give 'V for Victory' gesture as they arrive

Revealed: Britain's 'soft touch' approach to assessing asylum seeker claims

By DAVID CHURCHILL and MATTHEW LODGE and MILO POPE
UPDATED: 16:19 BST, 22 August 2023

A total of 661 migrants were confirmed by the Home Office as having landed in Britain today on one of the busiest day of Channel crossings so far this year.

16 boats arrived on the south coast of England on Monday as smugglers on the French coast sought to capitalise on fine weather conditions.

It is a new blow for Rishi Sunak's pledge to 'stop the boats', with the Prime Minister today admitting that this may not be fulfilled before the next election.

The migrants who did arrive today were seen smiling with some making Albania's controversial eagle hand sign and the 'V for Victory' gesture at photographers.

A man performs the Albanian eagle gesture as he arrives into Rye Harbour on an RNLI Coastguard boat on Monday
(...)
Photos show some migrants who arrived appearing to be in a good mood with at least one man putting his hands together to form a double-headed eagle, similar to the one depicted on the Albanian flag.

The controversial nationalist gesture first came to prominence in 2018 when Swiss footballers Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri performed it during a match against Serbia, with critics accusing them of inflaming tensions between Serbian nationalist and ethnic Albanians.

In recent years Albanians have made up a growing number of those crossing the English Channel in small boats - in 2022 around 16 per cent of all asylum applicants were Albanian nationals.

It comes after it was revealed that more than 25,000 asylum seekers have arrived in Britain in small boats since Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister.

Many of the migrants can be seen smiling after they were searched and allowed to board the coach provided by the Home Office.

Albanian people smugglers trafficking migrants to Uk are 'selling fake passports on Instagram stories' for £12,500 - and claim they can bypass security gates

By SUKHMANI SETHI
UPDATED: 20:53 BST, 3 September 2023

Albanian people-smuggling gangs are 'selling fake passports in Instagram stories' for thousands of pounds, which are claimed to bypass security gates.

The counterfeit passports being offered for £12,500 are advertised on Instagram stories that automatically delete after 24 hours in order to stay under the radar of authorities.

However, a Telegraph investigation, has uncovered the scam which aids illegal migrants to trick border officials with older passports which can't be checked by an e-gate.

The fake passports from Greece, Romania and the Czech Republic are believed to be stolen and use photos that resemble the illegal migrant looking to enter the UK from Europe.

The Albanian gangs advertise their services using a private site on Instagram tagged 'Passage to the UK' which had 1,600 followers, before Instagram removed the account.

Two illegal Albanian immigrants who ran £800,000 cannabis factory in the Home Counties after being smuggled into the UK are jailed and face deportation

By CHARLIE MOLONEY
PUBLISHED: 09:14 BST, 15 September 2023 | UPDATED: 08:17 BST, 18 September 2023

Two illegal immigrants who were put in charge of an £800,000 cannabis factory at the heart of the Home Counties have been jailed for two years each and face deportation.

Amarild Nezha and Gridi Fatia had paid to come from the UK from Albania and had worked as bakers and in construction until they were sent to be 'gardeners' by the gang which had unlawfully brought them to this country.

They worked at a home in Windsor, Berkshire, which housed specialists technology to keep the plants - spread across 10 rooms - producing the class B drugs.

Jonathan Sank, prosecuting, said police had executed a warrant at an address in the quaint village of Dorney near Windsor, Berkshire, on July 3 after receiving information which suggested the house was a 'cannabis factory'.

'They found all of the blinds were closed but a strong smell of cannabis coming from the open windows', Mr Sank said.

It doesn't really matter if they get deported since they can easily sneak back into the country, as we have seen from the previous articles in this thread.

Revealed: WhatsApp messages Albanian fixer, 32, sent to desperate migrants as she helped human traffickers smuggle them into Britain

By EMILY JANE DAVIES
PUBLISHED: 11:54 GMT, 19 November 2023 | UPDATED: 16:14 GMT, 19 November 2023

These are the WhatsApp messages an Albanian fixer sent to desperate migrants as she helped human traffickers smuggle them into Britain.

Hundreds of messages from Ujeza Kurmekaj's phone showed her 'key role' in linking people smugglers with passengers, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said.

The 32-year-old woman facilitated crossings from France for Albanian nationals before her arrest last year, sending instructions on who to pick up.
(...)
She was arrested by NCA officers at her home in Banbury, Oxfordshire, last October before being charged in September with facilitating illegal immigration.

The fixer pleaded guilty to the charge at Oxford Crown Court earlier this month before being sentenced to seven and a half years in prison on Friday.

Ms Kurmekaj will be deported automatically on her release from prison.

Her phone also contained 21 images of Albanian ID cards and passports which, when checked on immigration systems, showed that nine of the individuals had arrived in the UK by small boat.
